I LOVE TOFFEE and think this is a great fanart of him.
It’s a silent rage.
You’re quiet. Face perfectly still, eyes emotionless.
And yet you seethe with hatred and are brimming with anger. You want to kill them and end their pitiful existence. They’ve harmed you far too much.
Don’t worry. Soon, you will be able to destroy them.
They’ll take your apparent “peace” and silence for granted… and that is when you may snap your maw shut around their throat, silencing them and your rage forever.

work-in-progress update on how I want to roleplay this canon divergent/AU version of Toffee:
Gonna admit this up front--did not care for canon S3 TV movie, so don’t really want to get involved much with that, and fully going into AU mode for this. Sticking with seasons 1-2 as a basis from canon.
Some overall details about this main AU of Toffee without going into complete detail--so, sort of a summary:
Main AU for Toffee:
-Can very nearly completely keep his actions and much of his internal thoughts/feelings separate. This means he can do largely something without any outward sign of reluctance, while inwardly he does feel more conflicted feelings--but those internal feelings rarely interfere with the external actions he chooses to take.
-Does subconsciously have a moral streak still, though he will mostly never recognize it as such. Does consciously believe he is terrible.
-Despite what he’s tried to make himself do, will find that he still does have lines he won’t cross--and even being confronted with them will make him behave more like how he was before.
-Used to be kinder and more idealistic. Had not convinced and trained himself to be willing to do whatever it took to achieve his goals before.
-His goals are revenge and justice for what mewmans have done to monsters.
-Has little faith anymore in the good will of anyone. There are some exceptions, and he may be convinced otherwise.
-His past is mostly different from what was shown in the canonical “The Battle for Mewni” TV movie. So, AU backstory.

1 to 6 for the angst relationship ask for Tofficore. :)
1. do they have a lot of arguments? if so, over what?I imagine toff and rast have their occasional spats. Usually over how to handle a situation. It can be hard for them to see from each other’s perspectives sometimes, considering their totally different experiences in life.
2. who apologizes first? in what way? is it hard for either of them to apologize?Rast will usually apologize first. Toffee has a harder time of it. Toffee is firmly set in his thinking while rast is the one to act more emotionally. Rasticore is rather timid in his apology, as he does not want to accidentally upset toffee further. Toffee used to apologize insincerely, but rast knew better than to let him get away with that one more than once. Toffee will think carefully about phrasing while rast just thinks as he’s making the apology.
3. which one has more insecurities? over what?Toffee probably has more insecurities simply by quantity. Mostly over how he deals with life and whether he’s making the right decisions. Rasticore is a bit insecure about how big he is, he worries about squishing or just hurting toffee and doesn’t like having to squeeze through small doorways or closed spaces.
4. who gets more riled up? do they show their anger? Rasticore will usually get more riled up, pacing and gesticulating, but toffee begins to act like he’s above the situation when he’s clearly not and stands really stiff, only his eyes following rast. They both show their anger, but in different ways. Rast will snarl and puff and toffee glares.
5. how do they hide their pain when they’re upset? do they try to hide their pain?Toffee has a lot of issues with bottling things up. Between being general and just being an introspective person overall, toffee barely allows himself the chance to process emotions before he’s already locked them away in his mind. Rasticore will try to hide his pain if it doesn’t involve toffee, simply for the sake of protecting toffee from negativity. They will both try to stifle themselves if they start to cry.
6. who tries to make up first? does it work?Rast will try to make up first. It usually works, he knows how to calm toffee down in other situations so when toffee has spent all the energy he cares to spend on an argument, rast is there to try to make things right. Toffee has, on a few occasions, tried to make up. It touches rast to see his otherwise severe and unmoving boyfriend come back with the intention of peace so it’s almost instantly successful. Only a few arguments in their life have not ended with a blanket wrapped around the both of them while they kiss and make up.

I still believe/hope the bulk of season 3 and season 4 will feature Toffee’s return.
Putting these guys in a separate post (x): an even more literal role swap–and gender swap and species/race swap–with Princess Toffee of the Royal Butterfly Family and Star the Immortal Monster of Septarsis:
Man, I ultimately did not care for the S3 “The Battle for Mewni” TV movie, but brainstorming headcanons for this AU so far has used stuff from that TV movie (while admittedly criticizing said TV movie in a more meta way during the course of said brainstorming). It’s also pulled from some other AU ideas I’ve had but haven’t shared before (maybe I’ll pinpoint the origins of that some other time). Also, this ended up getting long. Also, I now feel bad for mewman Princess Toffee in my AU. I apparently can’t let Toffee be happy ever in my AUs. Also, feeling bad for Septarian Star in the AU too–but then again, I always feel bad for the monsters in SVTFOE.

It was actually really interesting to try to imagine their original personalities still existing in some way under these different circumstances. (Though granted, my headcanons on and preferences for Toffee and Star and SVTFOE still influence this.)
Anyway:
Princess Toffee:
-Her birth was a scandal. Her father isn’t River. Her father is a low-ranking castle guard whom an unmarried Moon had one night of passion with.
