I don't care if Conformity Gate is real; it will never change the fact that the Duffers continuously sidelined their POC characters, used a lesbian couple to further the plot of a gay boy, and willfully utilized the sassy black woman trope. We shouldn't excuse oppression with the idea of some "greater narrative" or plot twist. Because, at the end of the day, the outcasts for whom the show was supposedly created will know who will really profit from their oppression: white men.

okay like yes the ending was super dissapointing but like....you know what i dont even know whats good about it im trying to stay postive cause i love this show but what the hell. like, of course im upset about byler but honestly more upset about el's "death". like i thought this show was about the outcasts but all this finale has shown is: 1. gay people dont end up with who they want (despite the obvious signs) 2. people who went thru trauma dont get the life they want/have to end it (kali and el) 3. a straight couple that literally have no chemisty understand each other better than anybody else despite the fact the last 2-3 seasons mike was awful for el.

this whole finale just felt like a middle finger to the queer community. giving will a random bf??? mikes sad??? vickie suddenly dissapears?? like what was all that happened in volume 1 for???
