We’re officially halfway through the year and halfway through my Space Cat Saturday series, which aims to round up all the cats in retro sci-fi cover art by posting one per week.
Check out my tumblr post series over here, and you can find the handy Tweet thread version of it here. Want to do me a favor? Share a link with your cat-loving friend. You know the one.
This week, we have an enigmatic yet fashionable Space Cat from the 1981 cover art to Andre Norton’s Breed to Come. The book didn’t name the artist, but some sources credit it to Wayne Barlowe. I really love this one; It has some Mona Lisa vibes.

B5-sized flyer for a PHAIDIA / GILLES DE RAIS (pre-PALE COCOON) show (possibly from 1981 seeing as their split flexi came out then).
