It's crazy how time has passed for the both of us. And I wouldn't have it any other way, to be brutally honest. Times before 2023, I believe we weren't for each other in the slightest.... Going into 2023, you found me at my lowest...still healing, still bleeding, still grieving....and you still took me as I was. 2024, our daughter was born. And now 2025, we celebrated our first year as a married couple. Always wanting and working for more for us and our 3 kids so let's keep going 🫶🏼❤️

Happy Lunar New Year! 🐍🏮🎆

To celebrate the year of the snake, I wanted to combine the snake with my other favorite scaled animal, the goldfish! Growing up as little kid in China, I was always fascinated by the goldfish and koi ponds that are scattered in every park and apartment complex. I would stare at them for hours, mesmerized by their shiny scales and graceful movements. Hopefully I was able to capture that in this painting :D

I remembered newspaper comics existed and googled Ziggy to laugh at how shitty it is and this caught me so off guard I nearly threw up

I worked at a small town newspaper at a time we changed our syndicate service so we stopped running ziggy and a woman came in to yell at us about how important ziggy is because it “really has its finger on the pulse of things”

This one truly took so long to paint 😭The video recording of the process took 10 sessions instead of the usual 3.

But I'm really happy with how it turned out! I've always loved the impressionist art style above all other oil painting styles, so it's been a blast studying the works of Monet and modern impressionists, and adding my own touch to the skies as well.
