really excited abt qifrey as disability representation in wha. obviously i understand it’s intrinsic to the plot that he not lose his vision yet since it’s one of his driving motivations but i love the idea that part of what keeps this whole story moving is a man coming to terms with his diagnosis… in a roundabout fashion. i really hope we get to see him living life after he loses his sight too.

the thing that’s so good abt wha is how it integrates magic into the society where the characters live. there should be a thousand magic-based accessibility aids in a world where magic tools can make almost anything possible. but we learn so early in the story that individuals with any minor differences aren’t valued the same way in their world. so of course things like that don’t exist already. this entire story centers around who magic is and isn’t for.
