Happy 4th of July!
Looks so relaxing
One life make it count.
This song helped me through a rough time in my life. A few years back I lost my mom unexpectedly she was only 56. One minute here and the next gone. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about her..

What’s your favorite meal on the trail?
So I’m sitting here at 1:20 a.m. It has been cold and rainy here for the past few days haven’t been able to do much outside. So I was wondering what are some good eats on the trail? Do you make your own meals (dehydrate) or do you buy them? if anyone has some suggestions I’d like to hear about them.

Porcupine Mountains
My family and I finally visited Porcupine Mountains State Park in Ontonagon, Michigan. This place was beautiful. The first place we visited was Lake of the clouds, there are two was to see it: one is a board walk along the side of the mountain that is also wheelchair friendly or you can go direct from the parking lot to the look out area there are some great views to be seen.
The second place we visited were the Over looked falls off the Little carp river rd. Parking was not a problem; from the parking lot is was just a short jaunt to the trail head. The trail head is a gravel two track road that leads down to the little carp trail that is also part of the North Country Trail. This had some beautiful little water falls on it. We were going to go to the Greenstone waterfalls but it was to buggy due to the rain we had during the day so we called it but it was still a great place to go and adventure.
The Porkies also have many other trials to hike and mountain bike on. Some are easy and some are advanced but either way you won’t be disappointed. They do allow back country backpacking but you have to reserve a permit for this or if you don’t want to camp in a tent you can also reserve a rustic cabin so there are many options for camping. There are also many access points to Lake Superior along the road to the mountain so you can cool off on a hot summers day.
I would highly recommend a visit to the porkies if you’re in the U.P of Michigan and want to see some great views you wont be disappointed.
I know we weren’t.
Take care and stay safe.
