Joy in Reading Books I'm the kind of person who finds happiness in a bookstore. I love the smell of the hardbound and paperback pages, the beautiful and minimalist style of the text and the first few lines of the beginning of the book that arrests you immediately, you can't put it down. It's the thrill of reading, the race to find out what's going to happen next, why it's happening, and what it does to you. Then you feel a wonderful mish-mash of emotions about life and if you were in the shoes of this fictional hero, what would you do? It's exciting, and I love being excited. :)

New Chop

I'm no extreme self-loather, but I'm perfectly aware of my flaws. And probably the only party of my body I rarely have complaints of is my hair. I've worn short hair in the past (like, from 2008-2009, I copied Rihanna's very popular angled bob during her Good Girl Gone Bad phase), but worn it longer since 2010 so its easier to manage. A lot of people surprisingly loved my new cut, and I think I'm going to maintain it for a while.

Back Into Shape

I mega MISSED blogging! It's been a year since I put up my blog, myremarkabletwenties, and I can honestly say that the past months I've been "outie" has been a wonderful joyride of both challenge and bliss. Right now, I'm crazy about Tracy Anderson, Gwyneth Paltrow's fitness main woman. I've gotten hold of her exercise videos, and damn, can this lady whip you into shape or what. After 3 short weeks of doing her workouts (I'm sad to say I could only workout for a max of 3x a week, I leave the house so early for work and come home so late!), my butt is rounder (forgive me for the straightforwardness, hahaha), my arms a bit shapelier, my back a lot stronger and my legs --- MY LEGS! --- look so good in a bandage skirt, a swingy dress and straight leg pants. 

UH - MAY - ZING. I love Tracy soo much that her January 2013 Redbook Interview is posted on my bedroom wall. Love, love, love! 

When I master The Method for beginners, I will def. transition to her advanced modules.

Fitness is a huge deal for me. I love feeling strong: being able to lift and carry heavy purchases and office files is already an achievement for me. And I hate getting sick and having no energy at all. Exercise is among the best ways to stay happy, healthy and engaged. Spoken like Tracy would herself. ;-)

Marian 2.0

2013 is probably one of the roughest years I've had so far. I went through a lot of demanding life changes that required a lot of mature thinking and growing up. But despite all the awful stuff, I am grateful for many things this year. I learned how to be kind yet fierce, and genuinely brave, overall. The ocassional self-doubts and second-guesses are still there, but I'd like to believe I roll with the curveballs of life better now than I did two years ago, one year ago, and six months ago. I am still me, but only better. And my 2014 will rock, for sure. Cheers to positive vibes!

She's a talented musician and total performance powerhouse. And I just loooove seeing photos of her everywhere. She seems very appreciative of the present success she is having, and looks excited and ready to work hard in the near future for an even more stellar career in entertainment. And did I mention she seems down-to-earth? :)

J.A. is seriously my peg for beauty and looking good overall. She shines by being true to herself, doing the things she likes and is great at. Her posts on social media are also thoughtful and never shallow.

On my to-do list next weekend: Watch Taylor Swift's performance at the 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. When I saw the pictures of her struttin' her stuff down that runway, she looked super sexy and seemed to be having the time of her life. I hate to admit it, but once in a while, it's nice to feel sexy, to feel good in the skin and body you're in! Taylor Swift's girly charm seemed to highlight how "kikay" this event really is. Yes, the models are the reason why guys tune in, but girls love to watch this, too, for the ultra-feminine undergarments that we cannot live without. ;)
