POE ! ❞ his name slips unbidden from between her lips, a mix of a squeal and a plea. she knew what was coming, and she knew she let her guard down a little too much. he always had a way of just doing that to her as if it were some natural talent, or she was an open book. ❝ H― eeeey !! ❞ the word comes breathier than intended ; fragmented between laughter as she feels tears prick at the corners of her eyes and blur her vision. she tries to push him back with her hands, to allow herself a breath or two. she can't even form a coherent thought past the sudden proximity between them, and the warmth of his hands.
a part of her she hadn't really ever considered missed this. missed him. she felt like she was younger, with little responsibility again and living in the moment with no worries on her mind.
finally, she's able to actually grab his hands and wrists, and tries to still them while gasping for air. ❝ ... n- not ... ❞ a deep breath is taken, her chest rising and falling in rhythm, ❝ ... fair ! ❞ she only realizes just how small her own hands are in comparison to his while she tries to gather her own strength. she knows that compared to him, she's likely not as strong. still, she's pleased with herself even if temporary as she holds her grip on his wrists, her thin fingers pressing into the skin on the back of his hand and her cheeks flushed with warmth and color as she grins at him.
❝ got ya. now what ya gonna do ? ❞ she laughs, her gaze locked with his. she turns just enough to actually climb onto the couch on her knees and raise his hands above his head, ❝ ask nicely for me to let you go and maybe i'll listen. ❞
the sound of her squealing his name and squirming under his touch was enough to make him feel like he was on cloud nine. somehow, this was more fun now than when they were in high school. he feels like it's because now, they have more responsibilities on their shoulders, and the little bits of carefree joy they could get were precious gifts. still... he couldn't get over the way her mouth formed his name, her teeth, grinning wide, and the distance between them shrank more.
he lets her grab his wrists, lets her stop him, because it isn't fun if it isn't consensual. he had always been this way -- had always been one to let aoife set the pace, let her set the tone of their relationship. if he was being honest with himself, he wanted more from her. ever since they'd reconnected, that feeling had become more and more apparent to him. but he would wait -- would sit here with her, tickling her until she loved him. that wouldn't stop him, however, from taking certain liberties, like ticking her in the first place.
the tension in the air was palpable, he could feel it. he wondered, was it just him that felt it, was it just him that felt this way? it couldn't be... right?
"i can ask nicely." he breathes back at her, then shifts his face closer to hers, eyes trailing down to look at her lips, then back up to meet her eyes. his tongue darts out to lick his lips, but he won't move a muscle -- not unless she does. but he will, however, ask. "you want to know how?" he moves his wrists in her hands, just out of instinct, but also to reiterate to her that she has him, like putty in her hands.

A long time ago, Rey was convinced she would live out the rest of her days waiting for her parents to come back. Then once she’d finally left Jakku, she thought she'd never return, at least not willingly. Now, here she was, striding across the sands of her youth with a smile on her face.
“Come on you two, keep up! I thought you wanted to see the whole of Jakku?” Rey playfully reminded, turning to see how far behind Hope was, smile widening from the sight of BB-8 rolling around his legs encouragingly. Hope was still young, but she recognised his determination from when she was his age.
“So what do you think?” Rey asked, slowing down to give her son time to catch up. “It’s not quite as bad as I remember, but maybe that's because you're here with me this time.” Reaching to unstrap the leather flask, filled with water, from her waist, Rey held it out to him, urging, “here, have some.”
hope reaches out for the flask his mom hands him. she wasn't kidding — it was hot out here. he sips at the water in a subdued manner, careful not to take too much. he wants to leave some for his mom, after all — at the young age of nine, he is still a gentleman — his parents had raised him as so. "thanks mom," he says, wiping at his mouth and handing the flask back to her.
he looks out over jakku. it had been his idea to come, and he was excited. he'd heard the stories from his mom about her time here, and he'd heard from uncle finn and bb-8 about how they'd all met here — and he knows he wouldn't exist without this place. he wanted to see his roots, wanted to see what his mom experienced every day growing up. the longer he stayed on jakku, the more he admired her.
"is that where you lived?" he asks, brown eyes squinting up at her. his dark hair falls in his eyes and he pushes it up and away with his hands, looking back out at the at-at before him. it was smaller than he'd imagined. he tries to picture her there, all alone. he looks back up at her, reaching for her hand. he feels bb-8 role up beside him, and he places his other hand on top of the droid's head, patting at him. "let's go see it!"
