     Familiarity clicks despite the time stretched between their last encounter, before the new government decided the Jedi Order was a threat needing total dismantlement. Somehow, Rey survived. A fact Brienne will not question or report. Rather, the chance occurrence is akin to running into an old friend, and one who still carries concern for her safety.

     The overt alarm in the woman’s voice is undeniable, but it stirs only confusion in the funding manager. “Rey, what’s going on? I’m here for work,” she starts, keeping her voice hushed as if someone in the spaceport might be listening. “The construction company on this moon is under Imperial contract. Is. Is something going to happen?”

it's  cold  outside,  and  they're  taking  a  walk  together.  he  reaches  down,  ever  so  subtly,  and  interlaces  their  fingers.  he  gives  a  little  squeeze,  and  a  small  smile  in  her  direction  before  looking  away  again.  he  ran  his  thumb  over  hers  before  speaking.

❝it's  nice  out  tonight,❞  he  says.  he  likes  the  cold  —  he's  always  felt  at  home  in  it.  he  grew  up  in  space,  after  all.  he  supposes,  rey  might  not  feel  the  same  —  she  grew  up  in  the  dessert.  ❝wait,  are  you  cold,  sweetheart?  do  you  want  my  cloak?❞  he  looks  down  at  her  with  a  look  of  concern.  he  knows  she  can  take  care  of  herself,  but  that  shouldn't  stop  him  from  wanting  to  take  care  of  her  every  now  and  then,  right?  ❝i'll  give  you  my  cloak,❞  he  nods,  letting  go  of  her  hand  just  long  enough  to  shrug  it  off  his  shoulders  and  slide  it  around  hers.

he  isn't  used  to  showing  affection.  he  isn't  used  to  feeling  affection.  but  for  rey,  he's  going  to  try.

"I can go, if you want me to." Words just loud enough to bridge the distance between them as she shifted her gaze to the stars above them, not wanting Ray to feel as if she was being stared at while vulnerable. Knowing far too well what that was like. "But..I can also stay,"Alena's voice was warm, gentle as she steals a glance at the brunette. "If you want me to. We don't have to talk, but some things are easier when they are shared, rather than endured alone. Even silcence."

Pick one of my muses and send me an ask with their name, and I'll write a paragraph plot idea for both our characters.

An extremely formal, isolated, long lived species on a remote planet... that is not especially aware of galactic politics or events, by the way ... has a long standing tradition and law that when there's a dispute for the throne between the ruling houses, they must have a Jedi come to settle it through diplomacy and discernment of the force. The last time this occured was nearly two hundred years ago. Unaware that the Jedi have been wiped-out, twice, since then, a determined delegate from the planet finds Rey and Ben (the only Jedi around as far as he can tell) to request their assistance settling the dispute. Rey and Ben must first decide, if they will go; and then, what their role as 'jedi' will be in this complicated political situation.

"Oh, definitely." Never one for empty reassurance, Alena offered the brunette something she could hold on to in the moment: a helping hand. "Don't worry, we've all been where you are." Wrapping her warm fingers around the other woman's hand, she tugged her to her feet with ease. "You may not see it now, but you've already come so far."
