A 1950s Superman Poster Says What We All Need To Hear About American Values Right Now
If Ted Cruz manages to win the GOP presidential nomination, Alan Grayson plans to file a birther-style lawsuit questioning his eligibility

Yes, this, exactly.Â
Gun seen in the first act always go off in the third.
In early 1942, the U.S. ordered 110,000 Japanese-Americans living on the West Coast to internment camps. Five-year-old George Takei and his family were sent to camps in Arkansas and Utah for nearly four years.
The Broadway musical âAllegianceâ is loosely based on their experience.

13 Ridiculous Things Ben Carson Actually Believes
Former neurosurgeon Ben Carson has become an unlikely frontrunner in the GOP presidential primary, leading recent polls in Iowa and surpassing all of the other Republican candidatesâ recent fundraising totals.
Though he has never held political office, his short time in the spotlight has given him plenty of opportunity to make controversial and often factually incorrect statements. In May, ThinkProgress highlighted seven ridiculous things that Ben Carson believes. But in the past six months, Carson has come up with even more incendiary remarks and comparisons, which seem to only help his campaign.
Ben Carson is a new level of âthe stupidâ.

New Comic!
Apparently now that Iâm not in school anymore Iâm all about giant long-form comics.Â
Identity is a really important topic to me, and the trope of âfinding yourselfâ is almost as problematic and insulting to me as the trope of âcoming outâ.Â
I want to destroy the idea that some identities are less valid than others, the condescension that comes with âtheyâre just figuring themselves outâ, and the insulting dismissal of identity exploration and performance in youth as being somehow not ârealâ, or as âattention seekingâ. Fuck all of that.Â
And beyond the fact that  âinconsistentâ identities are really challenging socially, they ALSO carry these real, actual life and liberty risks; weâre expected to use the same name, orientations, values, languages, and identities across all aspects of our lives, we are expected to have normative identities that can be quantified and qualified and trust me, TRUST ME  when a person is perceived as having inconsistent or unusual identities they are being flagged in all sorts of systems for extra scrutiny and action. I know this from experience.Â
So, yeah, this âone true identityâ, this âfinding yourselfâ, this âwho is the real youâ stuff is bullshit. We are so, so much more interesting than that, and we deserve better.

What happens when an anti-Islamic bigot meets a real live Muslim? This.
Lonely anti-Muslim protester greeted lovingly with hugs and invitation to learn about Islam â and she does
An Ohio woman who was the only one to show up at a local mosque to protest against the Islamic faith was greeted by counter-protesters and members of the mosque who gave her hugs and extended an invitation to enter to learn more about Islam â which she accepted
The  woman â identified as Annie on Facebook âshowed up Saturday at the Noor Islamic Cultural Center In Dublin, Ohio, on the day of the misleadingly named Global Rally for Humanity â a nationwide protest against Muslims in the U.S.
Carrying multiple signs âincluding one stating âNo Sharia lawââ Annie was met by multiple counter-protesters who engaged her in a lively, but mostly friendly, debate about Islam, the Koran and President Obama, whom she claimed was a Muslim.

Confronted by a Muslim woman wearing a hijab who offered to pose with her for a photo by saying,âIâm an American too,â Annie accepted an invitation to enter the mosque and meet with the members who applauded her as she entered the foyer.
Awesome.
