Seven-Dimensional Love

Can I hold you with no strings Can I share how I feel about the beauty of you without causing confusion Can I explain to everyone what it's like to feel seven-dimensional love in this three-dimensional world

We don't fit here And it burns, but also delights

Attract, then repel Repel, then attract While life speeds along

What can I do but thank you and love you hoping you feel it hoping you know

If anything, just know I see you fellow wayfarer fellow traveler Fellow visitor to this lonesome wilderness

I'm happy we shared this time and this plane

Never and Ever

At the end of the day We’ve done nothing to them, except exist And tried human things Like provide for ourselves And experience joy, happiness, and love Tried human things Like stand up to oppression And live out our days With a sense of pride

We will never be their objects Never have been Never will be Our humanness won’t allow it Regardless of the conditions they sought and seek to impose We are God-created and ever-noble

We cannot be confused And read too deep into what is obvious We are surrounded by evil and darkness And it is patently ungodly to live like this

Yet, God Lives And She is beyond tired.

‘Faded Colors’

The deep navy fades

into a skyish blue,

leaving the stars to shine less brilliant

The red congeals into a purplish mess

as if diseased

Spilling downward,

dripping along the edges

To the unclouded, sober eye

It is now clear

In the Trenches

I meditate upon a dream A dream full of hope, love, and contentment A state of tranquility and peace In reality, I wonder if I’ll ever have that If I will ever feel victorious Who says the victory of one means the defeat of another That’s not the way it has to be Such an old school mindset leads to a tragedy My heart must be too battered and bruised to expect much Life experiences may be too much to overcome I walk these streets trying to protect my chest All these arrows and darts are infiltrating my rest I don’t want to sound pessimistic I’m only trying to keep it real with you My life has been a torturous struggle The longest battle was overcoming the second-hand smoke of my past The last battle was standing up for a principle I sit here licking my wounds, preparing for the next one The battle I face now will be the greatest challenge I’ve ever faced It involves a process that separates man and spirit I must fight against the Satan within, but the first step is finding him I long to be among the selfless A hollow reed that plays melodious tones A mirror that reflects the Light that never fades This is my mission I strategize, improvise, and monopolize all at once Seeking to find some semblance of serendipity To aid me in my quest for attaining my destined station It won’t be easy by any means Prayer will be my food Meditation will be my drink My heart and mind are my weaponry

Beauty left me here

Really, I left beauty. Cuz

beauty is home.

Beauty is burning all of this away

Beauty is self-forgetting

Oh beauty, where hast thou gone.

Beauty is rememberance of our share

Of the overflowing light of existence

And our ability to delight therein

Grace

Humbled I am by the reign of Your Will

How lowly need I be

A part of me feels buried

Another part feeling free

The answer was always me, but I was inner-blinded by life circumstances

Beginning to awake from this slumber now

The light of my own reality penetrating these lids

Many times have I been resurrected through Thy love

And this is why I must praise

Perpetually

The Long Night

No comfort found in the dark

The silence never comes

Mind ever running, to and fro

Wish I learned how, but I can never let go

Chasing my own tail

They wish it literal, but we human truthfully

This world is blind with no willingness to see

‘Posed to die off, but we live and thrive

Only getting stronger

Pressure forging us into diamonds

And that’s why the hate is so strong

Man, this night will be long

Burning Beautifully

You are my greatest blessing

And loving you adequately is the greatest challenge

For love is not a lullaby

It is sacrifice in making it right

It’s genuine disagreements while walking hand-in-hand

It is a constant burning, but for a divine purpose

It’s coming together when the ways of the world pull to-and-fro

Every second is still beautiful, though

Because we’re still here, beautiful together

Love Won’t Save Me

Love led me here

But it won’t be love that saves me

Only shedding these illusions

Only submitting before the All-Glorious

Only committing myself fully to the Light

Will get me home

Unmasked

She can’t see my past trials,

My ascension from the concrete,

The scars covering my heart

She sees my now, my flaws,

My version of self-conscious manhood

Toiling with the demands of home and heart, providing and protection, responsibility and reciprocity

The intimacy of the home precludes performance

Unmasked I am before her

And this shall remain

My intention is evolution, open hand, open heart

Hoping love will save the day

The ego

You pretend to be a friend

But then you whisper I depend on you

I can’t wait to see the end of you

Your bring more trouble than you’re worth

Easily awakened, you grew right by my side

You clothe yourself like you’re my pride

But following you will leave me floating,

Drifting into dark space

You were never there when I felt Glory

But did what you could to dim the light

You depend on tired wings, and setting suns

But I turn my back on your eternal night

God

She is my forever Friend

Knew my very essence as I contemplate upon it

Asking only that I see her as she sees herself

For her vision is perfect, her Mirror stainless

I see her beautiful, the embodiment of

Love, Tranquility, and Peace

But I haven’t the capacity to contain it all

I drown, I exhaust, I seize

Knowing only that She is unfailing

And it is only my love that falls short.

Bless me

Wash me in the springs of love

Shower me with African rhythms and African songs

Bless this broken heart

Soothe its sutures

Heal me with Your Reality

Dazzle my eyes once again

For the mission is foggy

The path is lonely

And the friends are few

Still

From boy to man

Innocence to guilt

Though still innocent

Only crime, growing while Black

We wear these structures on our backs

But we still got love

‪At the end of the day‬

‪It’s the illusions and idolatry‬

‪That eat away at me‬

Within a moment‬

‪A Voice beyond syllable and sound‬

‪Sat me down‬, reprimandily saying:

“How dost thou imagine thyself alone

When I’ve been with you the whole time?”

“How didst thou forget? I made it clear in ‘92”

I said nothing, just wept

Knowledge is meaningless without this knowledge

And if I know anything, I know that it is we who turn away
