you really are a heel.
throwback, let’s see if he’ll remember.

The Fall of Troy
scene: a child standing on a rooftop at night holding a lantern while everyone below argues about what the light means.
Well spin your head around Be happy but profound; run for your life Am I stupid or just brave? Well they're basically the same
Woe is me Fumbling in my sleep And whirl my insides
Notes to Self
if knowledge is power, why would any source that wields that power give you the whole picture?
every institution, ideology, publication, government, religion, corporation, and individual has a perspective shaped by its own interests, limitations, and incentives. even when there is no deliberate deception, there is always selection: what is emphasized, what is omitted, what is framed as important, and what is quietly left in the background.
the mistake is not believing a source. the mistake is believing any single source is complete.
truth is rarely hidden in one place. more often, it exists in the gaps between competing accounts, in the contradictions, in the details that don’t quite fit the narrative being offered. the whole picture is usually assembled, not presented. It’s assembled from fragments.
now, if knowledge is power, then understanding begins the moment you stop asking what a source is telling you and start asking what it has no reason to tell you.
the world is a stage. most things arrive as two truths and a lie.
traveling alone means mastering the art of the coolest mean mug imaginable.
one thing i love about being out of the country is seeing life pick up long after midnight. women and children still out, streets still full. no real closing time.
i love the USA with my whole heart, but we got to get back on that.
on my way to Alexandria’s beach.
memories rushing back as i sit in this car with my head out the window. i love the night wind rushing on a highway. every warm summer, it feels exactly the same.
some things change completely. some things never do.

i made a lot of friends today. laughed about *hidden knowledge* on the ancient pharaohs. those guys, lol. smoked a lone cigarette beside the sphinx, and took a taxi back to my hotel with a piece of eternity with me.
