um . . . i think i can be really caring and selfless with the people i love ? i don’t know if that’s always a good thing, but i wouldn’t change it.

“it’s a whole world out there with this stuff. just try different things out and stick with that works for you.” he encouraged her with a nudge from his shoulder to hers. there was a lot someone could do with it, but in the end, it was up to her how she wanted to enjoy herself and relax. he was simply a tour guide, of sorts. “i think i’ve got a few? some of the new members have started planting some, so they might not be that big. do you have a favorite flower? maybe i can start planting some, too.” he was glad that she showed something of an interest in his other hobby, though he didn’t really do it for the recognition, it was just nice that someone liked the visual of flowers around campus. he walked inside with her, shutting the door and turning on the light of the grow light fixture above them. “not all me, but i did a lot of it. roses, posies..and a special section for sunflowers.” he smiled wistfully with a small sigh as he knelt down to fish out a pre-rolled joint from his gardening shed.
a smile crept up on her lips as his shoulder briefly collided with hers. he truly was one of the most genuine, down to earth guys at crestmont — a rarity amongst men these days. she really was lucky to call him a friend. “ i think my all time favorite flower would be hyacinths, but honestly, i think they’re all pretty. if i had a green thumb like yours, i would probably have flowers and plants all over my dorm. ” she was almost jealous that jake was able to grow anything as beautiful as what resided in the greenhouse. “ i’m impressed with all the variety. i never really got a good look at everything in here until now, but it’s all pretty amazing. ” a twinkle in her eye as she gazed upon the variety of flowers. “ it must be so nice being surrounded by all these pretty flowers all day . . . ” she sighed dreamily, eyes following his movements as he went to grab the goods from the shed. “ do you bring a lot of people here to smoke, or am i just special ? ”
arlene is not gonna like that you hooked up with her man girl
it happened before arlene and i even knew each other. and plus, it was just a one time thing to like . . . get it over with, i guess.
three people in school you wouldn't mind hooking up with?
well if i had to pick three people off the top of my head . . . maybe tiny, hunter (easy pick bc it’s already happened), and zoe.

jake nodded, glad that she was able to take his advice to heart. some people only pretended to know what they really wanted, but it seemed like lola was really interested in the different ways of enjoying weed. “if you think the sweets are good, wait til i tell you about the jolly ranchers.” he smirked, knowing their were a bunch of safe ways to enjoy it. “sure thing, we can go to the greenhouse.” he spoke, pointing to the left where the greenhouse was situated. “i’ve got a section away from the nice flowers i plant around campus that blocks the smell, so we’ll be good there. plus, you get a sneak peak at my hydrangeas.”
“ jolly ranchers ? oh my god, they can put thc in anything these days. do you think there’s sour patch watermelon edibles out there ? because i think i’d die if they had those. ” nonetheless, her face lit up just at the prospect of it. so many possibilities in a world that she was still somewhat ignorant to. luckily, she had an expert to help teach her. “ i’ve only been to the greenhouse a couple times — wanted to see if you guys had any of those cute little succulents. so, i’m officially requesting a tour . . . y’know, after our . . . session. ” she wasn’t sure what else to call it, but by now, jake was most likely used to her euphemisms. turning on her heels towards the direction of the greenhouse, she took the liberty of letting herself in and taking in the scenery. “ wow . . . it’s, like, beautiful in here. did you grow a lot of this ? ”

really? now that’s ballsy. is dye hair hard to keep up with? i’ve never touched my hair before, probably never will. but yeah sounds like you’ve got it down. most of the time you don’t have to deal with parents either. it’ll probably help if you block them from certain post, just saying.
you think so ? i had it colored all throughout high school. first it was pink and purple, then fully pink, and then blue. it was definitely hard to keep up with, but it’s just the price i have to pay for looking extra cute. and you should consider it ! dyed hair can be super sexy on guys. like, when boys shave their heads, bleach it, and then dye cute little patterns onto their head ? that’s a trend i’m one hundred percent behind. oh, and i don’t have my dad added on anything. he tried to send me a friend request on snapchat a while back and i don’t think i’ve ever hit the block button quicker. i love him, but a girl needs her privacy.

frequenting the dining hall isn’t usually in his plans. in his mind, the food is subpar and the atmosphere gives off more cafeteria than on-campus restaurant. however, 10 o’clock marked the closing of most of his favorite eateries, anything else would require a thirty minute drive across town, and his aversion to cooking is still alive and well despite the fact that he’s been living on his own for over a year.
so he stalks back toward the seating area with a salad and a limp sub sandwich, green hues scanning for a place to sit in avoidance of the sad situation on his plate. a familiar pink head of hair prompts a quirk of his lips and he doesn’t hesitate to set his tray down next to her. “this seat taken?”
being so accustomed to the delectable variety offered at the cantina, crestmont’s dining hall surely felt like a step down. lucky for lola, she wasn’t too picky, and while the food wasn’t up to par with what she was used to, she wouldn’t complain either. still, it’s a somewhat sad sight to see — the tiny girl sitting at the long table all alone, late at night, picking pathetically at her greek salad. she didn’t mean to seem so crestfallen, she was simply lost in thought about . . . everything and anything. the weight of the world weighed heavy on her shoulders currently, and with no outlet to talk about it with anyone, lola felt as if she were reaching a breaking point.
the only thing that snapped her eyes away from the bowl of greens was the sound of the eldest hollingsworth’s voice inquiring about the spot next to her. “ it is now, ” her blank stare was replaced with a wide grin as she gestured to the seat next to her. “ tell me what’s got crestmont’s most eligible bachelor eating alone on a sunday night, ” she tried to keep her tone light, amusement lingering on her features as she pushed her food to the side to give her full attention to the boy. out of all the siblings, lola knew the least about miles. despite frequenting the hollingsworth household for years, her talks with miles never went beyond polite conversation. this may have been one of her only opportunities to peel back a layer of the enigma she considered him to be.

It’s super sweet that you think so, Lo. What are you majoring in, anyway? Psychology? What were you wanting to do after university? Having your own private practice may not be as difficult as it looks.
yeah, psychology. crazy, right ? this time last year i had no idea what i even wanted to do with my life, and now i actually have . . . like goals and stuff ! i wanna be a child psychologist. ever since i started working with kids over the summer i knew it was practically my calling. i wanna change little ones’ lives in a good way — be a positive thing for them, i guess. what are your plans after school zo ? if you have any, that is.
connordelux:
there’s no reason to believe that a hair color to be a determent to your performance in the work place, so i think you’ll be fine. very bold choice at least, i like it.
well, if the smartest person in school is saying it, then it has to be true ! would you mind telling my dad that ? thanks though, you’re really sweet, connor.
tinyrockthebells:
now that guy i know, he was in pulp fiction, and that’s one of my absolute favorite movies. so i guess it can’t be all bad. what, the sequel sucks? must be the opposite of the bring it on movies i had to sit through. i guess that would be a little goth, but i dunno, you’d look good in any color to me. even if you just shaved it off, but i know you’d never, haha. i never told anybody, easy. novak and grace just kinda found out, but everybody’s just called me tiny since i was a tiny little kid, i guess it just kinda stuck.. nah, it’s alright. now that i’m older, i should get used to the real name, can’t go by tiny on job applications.
i’ve never seen a quentin tarantino movie. the film bros who obsess over them kinda turned me off from his work entirely. and i wouldn’t say they suck, but the quality does kinda gradually go down with each movie. you think so ? then maybe i should just say ‘screw the hair dye’ and shave it all off — just for you ! i bet deon bell is a lot easier to google, too. have you ever searched your own name ? i bet you’d just get a bunch of pictures of literal tiny bells.
francescaholls:
I guess you just picked the right color in kindergarten. We both got lucky. Let’s be realistic though, my mom would kill me then you and bury us in the same grave. Although I do agree I would look great especially if you did it.
aw, weren’t we the cutest in back then ? sometimes i miss those days — mostly the designated nap time. and you act like diana is some type of tyrant when she’s the sweetest mom ever ! she’d probably get over it in like a day.
drewt:
Definitely not enough, you might as well go all pink. Even if it’s somehow considered unprofessional shouldn’t you do it while you’re in college anyway?
ooh fun fact ! i actually dyed my hair fully pink like sophomore year of high school — so cute, but so hard to manage. but agreed. college is meant for experimenting or whatever, so what time better than now to do it ?
