I just hope to make my betrothed my wife sooner rather than later. If the King would grant me audience.

I wasn’t planning on being nearly so subtle, but yes. Have you had time to speak to the King? [she grins back, leaning forward slightly to kiss him.] For everyone, my Lord.

Tonight, however, I think you and I could use some joy away from all this. Should we ride to the Blackwater?

I do believe that my father was a good man. I am sure that I have done more wrongdoings than him. But I have never understood how the gods work, because if they punished the wicked, I’d be dead a long time ago and my father would still stand. Or perhaps being here is punishment.

And you are my Lion. A part of me thinks that what the land needs is some hope and love, and a part thinks that a wedding among this mourning is cursed from the start. If anyone can lead us to a new dawn, it will be you, my Lord. I will help however I can.

If that is your way of saying we should bring our wedding date closer, I agree entirely. [Jon smiled] A trip to the Westerlands and an occasion for joy is much overdue for this House..

To think I nearly convinced Alyssa to let me ride this day. She will not say it to me now, but at this moment she knows she was right.

The Lieutenants are trying to convince me. Who needs a tourney when I ride off to battle as much as I do? Still...knocking the Targaryens on their asses with an excuse to do so is not an opportunity I can so easily pass up...
