I can’t believe I could see them so close, that was the best night of my life. I’m so happy <3

I was at Anthony’s house, looking through notebooks of his lyrics and poems. I found that song (Under The Bridge) and I asked him what it was and he said, ‘Oh, that’s not really for the Chili Peppers.’ And I said, Well, sing it to me, tell me how it goes. I remember him bringing it in to the band and really embarrassed. But once he sang it, they loved it. It was really personal, revelatory, guts-spilling song.
