ladyannedubois:
“I should hope that my company will entertain you, then.” She smiled, picking up her own in return before taking a gentle sip from the cup. “You are quite right, my Lord. I have mostly been studying history and literature at the moment.” Anne explained, “What about you, my Lord? How have you been spending your time here in Calisasta?”
“We shall see,” he nodded, swirling the wine in the glass before taking a sip of the dark liquid. “I am often right,” he gave a smile, nodding as the first plates were put in front of them. “Education is important, I did always enjoy history, though what we do now is much more vital.” He placed his glass down. “With the Princess Evangeline. She has been updating me on matters, as I have also been discussing with the nobles how best to proceed.”
ladyathenadebrincis:
“And what if I do insult every man here? What should be my punishment? Not being able to marry? What a shame.” She replied, ending the last part with thick sarcasm. “I do not have time for men who I do not care for.”
“A defiant woman. As if you are original,” he rolled his eyes, turning away from her. “I like an opinionated woman, a woman with spark... however, bitterness, well... that is only sad,” he clicked his tongue. “As I said. You know where the door is.”
ladyathenadebrincis:
“My lord, I have never found enjoyment in parties when I do not enjoy the company. Another reason for me not to be here.” She replied coldly. Athena wasn’t the best at schmoozing the crowd, her words often disrespectful. “Then I shall be off.”
“I’d watch your tongue, my lady, before you insult every man in this room. If you do not wish to be here, that door is yours.” He nodded towards the wooden heavily guarded doors. “I do not have time for ungrateful women.”
ladyannedubois:
“I am glad you enjoyed your day. It sounds like a lovely one.” She replied then gave a nod in return, “We shall.” Anne said before the servants aided her in seating, pulling out the chair for her and making sure she was well sat before going to the Lord’s chair, waiting for him to sit. “Indeed I am. It went quite well. I spent most of my day in my studies but I was able to go and spend some time in the garden. I do enjoy the garden.”
“It was, I like to keep myself busy. I get bored rather quickly,” he picked his glass up, smirking down at the dark liquid. He smiled when the lady was sat, listening to her speak with somewhat interest. “The outdoors are a wonderful place. Good for the health also. Nothing like fresh air. What is it you study?”
ladyathenadebrincis:
“My lord, you seem to have seen right through me. Unfortunately I am rather uninterested in this party. I have much more interesting duties to attend to. You, and many others, must enjoy keeping me from them.”
“With no disrespect, my lady, it was rather hard not to. Your disdain for such party was so obvious on the surface.” Ren barely blinked, looking across the crowded room. “No one is keeping you, I do not know you enough to care about your being here.”
ladyannedubois:
A warm smile welcomed her lips as she saw the Lord approach. When he reached her, taking her hand to bestow a kiss upon it she felt her cheeks heat up, such as earlier. “Good evening, my Lord. I trust that your day was well?” She asked. Anne wanted everything to go well, Lord Delamare was a man of great power as he was the High Lord of the North and with that came great wealth. The match between two families would be a rather nice alliance. But she also hoped he would be a man she should like to marry.
He noted the blush of her cheeks and he smiled to himself. Always satisfying. “Well, indeed. I’ve been out on my horse and caught up with a dear friend earlier.” He nodded to the table. “Shall we?” he sat, waiting for the servants to assist the lady to her seat. “I hope you are hungry, my lady. And how was your day?”
ladyathenadebrincis:
“I have yet to find a reason to care, I do apologize.” Athena said coldly towards the other. Her piercing blue, appearing to stare right through them.
“No, my lady, what amuses me is that you think for one second that I care. And your cold tone only tells me that you are trying a little too hard to act disinterested. Hilarious.”

Looking out the window briefly, Anne’s eyes fell down to her dress. It was one of her best but not quite the best she owned. The red dress was filled with gems and stones, showing off her father’s wealth. She awaited the Lord she was to have dinner with in the entrance hall of the castle. The young Lady was filled with nerves as this dinner was very important. She knew that it could potentially, with time, lead to the Lord discussing marriage with her father. It was simply how things could be done. But it was best that she didn’t think that far in advance, it was their first dinner together after all. Anne wanted to put her best foot forward though, which explained the dress, how her long flowing locks curled so perfectly, it was all in order. Just for this dinner.
The lord was rather pleased with himself as he headed down the hall, the slight sound of his boots against the marble floor and the swift movement of his jacket as his arms brushed the heavy fabric. The lady was young, not bad on the eyes, and came with a lot of wealth. An alliance with the duke, strength for the north. Though it was early days, and she was not the only lady that he had dined with since his visit to the capital. “Good evening, Lady Anne,” he greeted, his voice smooth as he kissed her hand.
ladyannedubois:
“I suppose she might not be. It may depend on the occasion though.” She shrugged, Anne had always wanted to visit the other regions of Albion. The young Lady couldn’t help but feel a warmth upon her cheeks at the idea, “Maybe you should, my Lord.” It then came to her head that the Lord was seeking a bride when he came to the capital, she and her sisters were definitely eligible but it was really up to her father who they would marry at the end of the day. Lord Lawrence was a man who held much power in the North but she was more interested in who he was as a person. She wished to get to know him.
“Most occasions to travel are marked by death or marriage,” he half laughed, noting the blush of her cheeks. He liked that. “Then I shall make arrangements, my lady Anne,” he nodded. The prospect wasn’t a terrible idea, having dinner with a young lady with a father such as hers.
ladyannedubois:
“I am in fact offering to visit the north, my Lord.” She smiled, “I do not guess my father’s thoughts as I only know my own, you see.”
“Should a lady not be invited to such a long trip?” he raised a brow, scanning over her. It was no secret that Lawrence had been interesting in wedding a lady from the capital. Though he was unsure of her rather forward offering. “Maybe I should escort a lady to dinner before a journey as such.”
evan-duvelle:
“And yet the whole idea of snow intrigues me. I hear it’s beauty makes up for any discomfort it may cause.” She smiled slightly, although just the though made her shiver inside. “And do you enjoy that new found power?”
“There is great beauty, in the snow, Evan,” he smiled gently, seeing the look on her face. “I believe I have taken to it very well.”
ladyannedubois:
“I see, my Lord.” She noted. A lady’s task. There were many things that seemed to be her task but hunting? It was a man’s. Anne noticed the smirk and returned one of her own out of courtesy, “Maybe I should visit more often to see the wonder if you are that proud of it.”
“She sees,” he repeated her words, glancing towards the young lady. “Oh, are you offering to visit the north, my lady? Now what would your father think of that?”
caralynpemuke:
“I said needless, necessary however? Perfectly alright.” She replies with a coy smile of her own.
“Now you are speaking in riddles, my lady,” he smirked slightly.
ladyannedubois:
“It is no issue, my Lord. I should like to find out for myself.” She shrugged lightly, “Unfortunately I do not, nor have I been combed to have any interest.” Anne explained looking him up and down, “It is good to be proud of one’s heritage.”
“No need, I have my men for that very reason,” he gave a nod of his head, his blue eyes scanning over her. The youngest princess much older than he last remembered. “Not a lady’s task,” he smirked slightly, watching her eyes on him. “Indeed. The north is my home and I am proud.”
ladyannedubois:
“The hunting?” Anne repeated in an unsure voice, “I hear it is well but I can ask my servants, they should have a better idea.” It was a lovely day out, truth be told. That was the reason the young Lady had been away from home. To get some fresh air. “I see, I haven’t seen snow in quite some time. How is it?”
“No need, my lady. I can find out for myself. I was merely asking. You are a fine woman then? No time for hunting?” He glanced over her. “As cold as one might think. Though it is my home. I am proud of it.”
evan-duvelle:
“Still cold. I have to wear layers.” She moved slightly, showing the thin cardigan she was wearing. “I have not matured.” She teased.
“You would hate the cold then, dear Evan. The snow is so bitter this time of year,” he nodded to her attire. “Nor have I. Just a few more duties and men to boss about.”
