replaying vtmb as an adult is so wild cuz i remember the quest snuff is enough traumatizing me so hard as a kid that i couldn't sleep for days but now every time i play the game i don't even stop to think when i get to it and can enjoy the story w/o having a heat attack every 5 seconds lol

No-one needs to shit on the new Saints Row, it's done it itself. 67 on metacritic, 2.5 user rating, so utterly terrible that Embracer Group's stock tanked the moment reviews became public. Outside of Tumblr, you're gonna struggle to find any opinion of the story and characters that's positive.

The fanbase -- the actual fanbase, not the people who demand the things they never intend to buy cater to them -- warned Deep Silver the game would bomb, and it did. No-one wanted a Saints Row game without the Saints, no-one wanted a story about a bunch of badly written characters that commit crime to pay off student loans while they bitch about destroying capitalism. No-one wanted a buggy left-wing power fantasy that even the vast majority of the left finds cringe-worthy and undeserving of their time.

TLDR: This is what happens when you alienate 80% of the existing fanbase to appeal to a vocal minority that were never fans and that were never going to buy the game no matter how much they were pandered to. Or: get woke, go broke.
