pure  and  kind,  as  he  had  once  been,  the  other  Guardian  shown  just  how  tender  she  is  all  while  the  similar  Prophet  feels  the  twist  of  who  and  what  he  once  was  forming  into  something  far  less  ideal  in  the  eyes  of  the  First  Star.  and  yet,  Viktor  still  takes  her  hand,  still  allows  the  comfort  the  be  shared,  even  though  he  felt  all  so  undeserving.

❝  they  should  not.  ❞        he  mutters,  a  gentle  squeeze  given  before  his  own  touch  is  retracted  just  as  quickly  as  it  was  given.  a  fear  that  he  may  taint  the  other.       ❝  have  you  never  wondered  why  it  is  that  even  our  lights  dim,  Soraka?  ❞

﹛ ✦ ﹜ — ❝ To remind us . ❞ she states without hesitation , belief in the first star evident in the way she continued to TRUST despite the paths those she'd once cherished had gone down .

he  wanted  to  believe  her.   wanted  to  stand  where  she  stood,  hopeful  and  dedicated  to  the  very  cause  that  marred  them  into  what  they  were;  Guardians.  chosen  by  the  First  Star,  given  a  path  that  would  etch  itself  into  history,  least  their  lights  burn  out.

but  that  was  exactly  what  would  come  to  be.  the  prophet  guardian  hears  it,  sees  the  winding  truth  and  lie  between  what  is  and  isnt  for  the  Guardians.  Luxs  light  shines  bright,  just  like  her  need  to  be  what  was  spoken  of  her,  and  he  does  not  fault  her  for  that.

he  remains  silent  for  a  moment,  debate  heavy  on  his  tongue  before  a  hand  comes  out  and  places  itself  on  her  shoulder,  something  he  often  would  refuse  to  do  with  much  anyone  else  but  his  Twin  Star.        ❝  you  are  right.  ❞        he  lies.  it  taste  bitter  on  his  tongue.        ❝  but  you  cannot  forget  yourself,  Lux.  even  as  a  chosen,  even  as  a  guardian,  even  as  a  person.  ❞        there  is  a  gentle  squeeze  given  before  his  touch  retracts,  hand  falling  to  his  side.

﹛ ✦ ﹜ — She could never hope to truly understand things from his perspective ; tasked with more weight than she herself could ever hope to bare , words of encouragement felt HOLLOW when spoken despite doing her best to believe that as was her own role as the LEADER - someone people were meant to follow .

Aiming her eyes up at the sky , thoughts begin to wander alongside questions that would remain unanswered ; Lux only able to HOPE &. clinging to it like a life preserver that would guide her and those she loved to a world they could all live in happily while SMILING by eachothers side .

part  of  him  may  understand,  as  he  and  Jayce  were  always  so  ready  to  start  up  something  new  even  with  the  thought  that  it  would  all  simply  crumble  apart  and  become  a  failed  trail.  amber  eyes  watch  her  for  a  moment,  following  her  fingers  before  they  return  to  her  features.  he  walks  himself  next  to  her.

Making sure to keep her pace maintainable for him , gaze watches the scenery that passes as they continue walking by various windows ; the PEOPLE her biggest concern as was always taught to her . In the case of death , one life is worth saving the MILLIONS left , at least , she liked to believe so .

               ❝  thats  the  whole  point.  ❞        she  gets  a  rather  thorough  eyeroll,  exaggeration  and  all,  as  he  tugs  her  along.        ❝  its  what  a  secret  place  is  for.  ❞        of  course  Jinu  hasnt  told  her  where  they  were  going.  Rumi  would  be  swift  to  give  him  some  sort  of  lip  if  she  thought  he  had  alternative  motives.

       not  saying  he  did,  but  also,  not  saying  he  didnt.

the  walk  doesnt  take  long  and  he  sure  as  heck  isnt  letting  her  go  as  they  make  their  way  up  the  hill.  sure,  they  could  probably  get  there  a  lot  quicker  but  what  was  the  point  of  having  legs  if  to  not  use  them?

once  they  reach  the  top,  its  shrouded  by  trees,  but  a  few  more  steps  and  they  can  make  it  past  them  with  a  quiet  expanse  of  the  whole  city  before  them.  not  marred  by  city  light,  though  it  did  sparkle  in  its  own  way.  finally,  Jinu  lets  her  go  and  leans  on  a  tree,  arms  crossed  over  his  chest,  eyes  focused  on  the  scenery.

Despite complaints , she doesn’t move away from the view , but rather leans forward a little , hands coming to rest on her knees as the city lights stretch below them like spilled glitter . For a MOMENT , she’s quiet, just the sound of wind threading through leaves &. the faint hum of stranger's busy nightlives far below .
