Words cannot begin to express my happiness of Zombie Stage ep 1 and I'm just bored so I'm doing analysis bc why not
0:06-0:13 First thing we see is Mizi looking awfully weird and childlike. Probably something that happened as a child. Mizi is holding a bloody rock and looks bruised, she also has glasses which is a plus!It stays on that scene where her pupils move a little as if staring at something
0:14-0:19 : a rat or a mouse is dead on the floor, obviously something Mizi killed. It looks greenish and has something around it's front leg. It's guts are out lol, he also is still twitching so a LITTTLEEEE alive. A shadow comes into view, likely Sua.
0:20-0:28 : a zombified(?) human is lying on the floor with a blanket, looks like they're on the streets. He has a collar, and a poster for Zombie stage is tucked at his head. He has black markings with red outline, it's obvious that's a sign of zombies. He's also balding, a lot. A shadow appears too eventually but the guy lays down unmoving. It zoomes out to show people looking at him, there's also a sale sign that says 80% off which is sickening. There's a chance this is one of the contestants of the old zombie stage. It actually could be the guy Hyuna lost against but I don't remember how he looks to be sure.
0:29-0:30 : a dome? It looks like an area with buildings but has a dome surrounding it, one big circle at the top with a bright light shining down. The buildings look old.
0:31-0:37 : first thing we see is kid Mizi again with child Sua. What's interesting is where in the OG AU Sua has short hair and Mizi long, Sua is now the one with long hair and Mizi short. It seems to be the same scene from the beginning. Sua looks completely unharmed and clean while Mizi has the bruise still and blood on her(probably not her own).
0:38-0:41 : Sua looks at Mizi while Mizi still looks down, seems that Sua is still the most obvious yearner. She leans forward to Mizi- wait she's crying? Sua hugs a crying Mizi? Does Mizi feel bad for killing? Do they understand something about the rat that might have been the start of the zombie apocolypse?
0:44-0:50 : the zoom in on the circus happens. At first we see a dark part of the area which has zombies roaming around there's this gate and a board that covers the gate, likely to hide the zombies.(I will not be doing Korean observations because I'm not good at Korean and I won't be doing that for now). It rapidly closes in on the circus and shows human people entering the circus and bright lights are given, this is meant to be joyous.
0:51-0:52 : holy shit the music and themes randomly change. The stage(it should be?) is themed in hearts so it's obviously a love theme. Mizi and Suas name appears. It's obviously their round.
Everything starts happening really fast
0:52: A toy that sprouts out a 'Fight!' sounds, it's likely to abruptly change the music comedically. we're shown Mizi and Sua, Sua more visibly and we see a black marking on her leg, she's obviously zombie. She also has long hair. The girls are wearing relatively the same modeled dresses judging from the skirts solely.
0:53: Mizi and Sua are waving to the crowd. We can't see Mizis face clearly but it already looks black at the edges. Sua meanwhile has one side of her face covered in the markings as well as the same side on her shoulder.
0:54-0:55: Mizi trips and we see her face is completely covered in black. Presumably she tripped because she can't see clearly, because it seems she doesn't have eyes. She stabilizes herself again and Sua turns to walk forward the stage.
0:56-0:57: first frame we see if of a mutated leg, the knee and up is just rotting flesh clinging to bone. It belongs to Sua as we see a moment later. Her other leg looks fine but has a weirdly perfectly shaped heart marking.
0:58: we're finally shown Suas face up close. One half of her face(and seemingly, her body) is covered in black. She also only has one eye. we're also shown Mizi for a split second and we can see she has lost her entire face except her mouth to whatever infection this is. Her infected upper half of her face also has a heart in it. Is it possible for this to be significant in how a zombie is infected?
0:59-1:01: the girls start their performance and it seems the crowd is actually more on Sua than Mizi?
1:02: shows the crowd, there seems to be an uncomfortable amount of older men there.
1:03: nothing much to say, just performance. Sua looks a little 'love crazy' though yk.
1:04-1:09: we finally hear vocals, but it's a much different tone than it was in Alienstage. Mizi is the first one singing, and it's clear she's very upbeat here, strangely so. We also get a very close up on Mizi and we see a part of her mouth is also opened up, also a part of her that's infected.
1:09-1:10: interesting. We cut to a scene of human Mizi? I don't know Korean well but it's a KPOP idol tryout I think? She looks goofy so maybe she failed it.
1:10-1:11: Sua tries out next! Also human now. I think she had a voice crack as of the symbols.
1:12-1:13: cuts to the two of them looking for something on their phones. Mizi has a hair curler in her bangs! Both are still human and seemingly in the high school clothes.
1:14-1:15: again I'm bad at Korean but I can assume what they receive are rejections for them to become KPOP idols. And they're both upset at failing.
1:15-1:18: it cuts back to the zombie versions of them after, specifically Sua first. She's performing very calmly and her voice is still soothing.
1:18-1:19: it cuts again into them as humans, now it is the high school AU, Sua is braiding Mizis hair. And looks inlove as heck. She's definitely once again the first yearner of the two.
1:21-1:27: graduation cap throwing. That's the scene. It's likely them graduating high school!!! And it is! Mizi grabs Suas hands as both of them still have it up and Mizi shows a KPOP idol audition on her phone. Definitely trying to persuade Sua.
1:27-1:34: cuts to Mizi and Sua getting ready for the tryouts and also parallels the dancing they do to the dancing they do as zombies
1:34-1:35: judges don't look too happy! Or at least, maybe they're just having a hard time deciding?
1:36-1:39: oh dear Mizi and Sua look devastated, they're probably didn't the worst about their audition. But now I should mention it's cute they both wanna be Kpop idols together!
1:40-1:43: WOW Mizi looks bedazzled! She got accepted into being an Idol!!! She's got giant heart crystal earrings, seems her theme will be entirely hearts this time around! Oh but it cuts to Sua dressed normally and it shows they're behind a stage. Oh dear, Sua didn't make it? Sua is comforting her by kissing her knuckles! But this scene is strangely familiar.
1:44: cuts to Mizi staring at Sua with doubt and worry. But she eventually trusts her.
1:45: cuts to a scene of Mizi and Suas hands connected, now parting, Mizi parts her hand from Suas. Sua looks hesitant after but Mizis is gone. Will this symbolize Mizi leaving Sua first again?
1:46: Sua steps back and looks supportive, but also longingly, probably because she wanted to join Mizi on that stage.
1:47-1:50: Mizi running up the stage and turning back before turning away to go onto the stage.
1:51-1:54: it cuts into Zombie Mizi performing though, so unfortunately we didn't see her perform. But maybe speaking too soon. However Mizi stays on one pose while something behind her starts coming down slowly. It also zooms out to the crowd. Does this mean we're getting a POV of someone? It might be Hyuna! We still haven't seen her though it's hinted she's important!!
1:55-1:56: there are two men coming from both sides of the stage and they look bulky. Are they going to do something to Mizi on stage?
1:56-1:58: we get a zoom in on one of the men holding a knife. That's concerning. We also see, although blurry, the other man pulling the spiral thing lower behind Mizi. And Mizi is just standing there? Oh it's part of the show.
1:59-2:01: the creepiest thing about this part is that Mizi is still smiling as the man is taking her hand, probably to tie her to the spinning board. Will this be like a knife throw show then?
2:02-2:03: it cuts to a seemingly photoshoot of human Mizi, this must be when she became an idol then.
2:04: it cuts back to her wrist being locked(?) to the spinning board
2:05-2:13: it continuously goes back and forth with a restrained limb and a new photoshoot video, and in the bg is the a laugh, likely Mizis. Then a knife is thrown, obviously at Mizi. Then it glitches from the knife being thrown and Mizi smiling at a/the camera. When it lands, the knife cracks a freeze frame of the same picture of Mizi smiling. It hints that the knife hit Mizi square between the eyes.
2:14-2:15: it shows the points for Mizi and Sua calculating on the digital screens.
2:15-2:19: it shows us the life of Mizi as a KPOP Idol seemingly? Then we see a shot of someone taking a bouquet, I'm not sure myself but I think it's a clematis bouquet. Could it have been from Sua?
2:19-2:20: oh dear it was! But it cuts to a scene of Mizi just handing the bouquet to another worker. Mizi looks like she has curly hair and doesn't have a shirt on, only a bra?(?). Sua looks both devastated and shocked.
2:21: more laughter in the background as it shows I think Mizi taking her shirt off and we see her breasts and bra.
2:22: Mizi with curly hair! She looks hot actually!!! But she looks... Colder. She's different for sure.
2:23: Sua obviously doesn't like it with the way she looks.
2:24: another scene with the breasts and bra, I think it's supposed to hint that Mizi might've went through something specific in the industry or it's trying to say she had to sell pictures of that.
2:25-2:28: Oh!? It shows panels of infected limbs or parts of the body, the first one belongs to a 'Min ho' and it's an arm, the second one is from a 'Kate' and it's their literal FACE, and the last one is of the missing eyes of Mizi.
2:28: it's sickening for the next scene to be Mizi looking down at something with maddening eyes. As a human of course.
2:29: it proceeds to show some scenes, maybe scandals, of Mizi as an idol again.
2:30-2:32: Mizi is smoking! Oh no and Sua is there looking horrified. This is likely to show what the Kpop industry does to their members.
2:32: Sua plucks the cig away from Mizi and looks at her horrified, I would too girlll.
2:33-2:35: oh this makes me sickkk, the way Mizi is looking at Sua, I already know that the toxicity is gonna be very obvious in this season!
2:36-2:40: it cuts to Mizi holding her hand up and then cuts to the sky with birds flying. Oh dear she obviously slapped Sua! Mizi is really going down that rabbit hole!!!
2:41: it shows us Mizi Infront of Sua and Suas head snapped to the side, she was obviously slapped oh no...
2:42: despite that Sua still reaches out to Mizi!? She probably wants her to realize she's worried, but Mizi is about to turn away. Mizi proceeds to push her away immediately. Sua, out of desperation runs up to hug.
2:43-2:50: we see Sua heaving on Mizis chest. Mizi actually looks disgusted and disappointed? At Sua though? I'm not sure myself
2:50: a flash of them as children with Sua hugging her the same flashes!
Ok I've been doing this for far too long, so I'll make a part 2 tomorrow lolol
