Can someone tell Alice to come back please?
But what?
But well -- well she just isn't ready yet. She colored you a picture though, I'll be sure to have mother and father bring it to you when they visit again

Can someone tell Alice to come back please?
It’s almost Valentine’s Day and I made her a Valentine. Plus we were supposed to make cookies together and I get to lick the bowl. I miss her and I want to see her soon even though she tries to get me to take baths and I hate baths more than I hate dogs.Â
Tell her that’s enough adventuring now.
Hi Dinah, I know you miss Alice. I'm trying to get her home but well...
Hospital Sleepover || Lorina/Alice
Lorina sat in the chair beside Alice's bed. It was a very old chair with cushions flattened beyond belief, its probably been there since the hospital first opened. Lorina would probably end up with back pains if she sat in it too long but she didn't care. She'd sit in that chair, sleep in that chair, live in that chair without one complaint if it meant she could stay beside her sister. The two sisters sat there in comfortable silence, Alice in her bed with tear stained cheeks, Lorina in her chair, holding Alice's hand and gently stroking it with her thumb, her cheeks also a bit tear stained as well.Â
They said all they needed to say, any more words would just make them even more upset. So they sat there, staring at the depressing grey walls and occasionally looking over at each other and sadly smiling. Their facial expressions said more than words could ever say. The room was silent except for the occasional sniffle between the two, the sound of the clock ticking away that seemed louder than usual, and the muffled sound of other nurses and patients.Â
The pair sat like that, still and silent for about fifteen long minutes before their parents arrived again. Lorina had called their parents earlier and asked them to come back to the hospital to bring some of Alice's favorite picture books, the stack of coloring books that were under Alice's bed, and a brand new box of crayola crayons. When she told them her plan of staying with Alice, they were hesitant and tried to talk her out of it, told her that the mental hospital was not the place for her, but her mind was made up and she was sticking to her decision.Â
When the door opened to Alice's hospital room, both Alice and Lorina turned their heads to the door in perfect sync. A nurse walked in, leading their parents into the room. They wore identical serious expressions on their faces masking how much it hurt them to see their daughter in the state she was in, they didn't want to upset her more by showing how upset they really were. How much they wanted to take both their daughters home and pretend like nothing happened and go back to the way things were.Â
Lorina got up from her chair and walked over to her father who was carrying the bag of the things she asked them to bring.Â
"Are you sure you'll be okay staying here Lorina?" Her father asked her with worry filled eyes.Â
Lorina nodded, "I-I'm sure father, Alice needs me and I can't just leave her here alone like this. I'll be okay."Â
Her father searched her eyes once more, her mother leaned against his arm. "You know you can call us if you need anything, anything at all. And--" His gaze shifted to Alice briefly, "Make sure Alice knows that too. We'll be back again to visit at the end of the week. We'd come more but--"
"We don't want to make this any harder on her than it already is," their mother finished.Â
Lorina nodded again, they both kissed her on the head, waved a quiet goodbye to Alice and walked back out the door. Lorina wiped a tear from her eye before turning back around to face Alice. She walked back to her chair and spread out the contents of the bag on Alice's hospital bed.Â
"So! Where should we begin Alice?"
They tell me when to go to bed.
… pinky promise? I think I still have the colouring book with all the birds under my bed. T-the one where we added to the pictures, remember? We made peacocks. Yours were the best. Mine were never inside the lines. D-D’you think we could maybe try that one again?
Pinky promise. You bet we can, I'll tell mom and dad to bring those too, and to buy a big new box of crayola crayons. How does that sound?
They tell me when to go to bed.
… no sneaking in any ones without pictures? We’ll look at them like we used to when we were little?
Absolutely not, strictly picture books. We can even color pictures too just like when we were little, you have my word.Â
They tell me when to go to bed.
But I do, the doctors say I do, all the tests, the results, they all say it. They can’t all be wrong, can they? I don’t want to be mad, Lorina, I don’t want to be here, I want to go home.
… really? You promise? You have to promise, swear on your life, cross your heart and hope to die, stick a needle in your eye, promise. I don’t like being alone in here, it’s so scary. It’s run by priests, they make us do prayers but I don’t know any prayers and they got so upset with me, they said all these awful things about Hell and damnation and a pit of fire, I didn’t mean to upset anyone! I didn’t mean to do any of it, not the prayers or the John thing or all of the other bits and pieces, I’m sorry, I’ve said I’m sorry, but nobody listens to me. I don’t want to be Loony Liddell again. I just want to be normal, like you, or Jane. Why is there so much wrong with me, Lorina? Everyone’s going to hate me more than they already do. Why can’t I just be normal?
Alice, Alice okay shh-shhh calm down. You're not mad, I don't care what the tests say. I don't hate you, Mom and Dad don't hate you, and judging by the waiting room filled with friends of yours I couldn't imagine that you're friends hate you either.Â
I promise, I swear on my life. Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my eye, promise. I'll stay as long as you want me to. I'll even have mom and dad bring those picture books you like so much and we'll look at them together. Whatever you want, how does that sound?
They tell me when to go to bed.
Lorina!
Mother and Father checked me in, they had to, the hospital told the police and they did tests and there’s all these things wrong with me so they had to take me in and it’s so scary in here there’s all these people who just shout and they throw things and it smells like medicine and they make me take these pills and I don’t like it I want to be home with you. I don’t care what I have to do, I’ll read every history book in the world, I’ll study lessons all day, I won’t ever doze off or daydream again, no nonsense, none of it, I promise just please, please, bring me home, I can’t stand it here, please!
What? No no the tests, they have to be wrong Alice there's nothing wrong with you. No no this is all wrong you're just a normal girl. A normal imaginative girl, and you've always been the same I don't understand! You don't belong with these people.Â
Shh-shh no, Alice please don't think that way. I don't want you to change, and I'm sure Mom and Dad don't either. I-I want you to come home too, ugh this is such a mess Alice. If they won't let me take you home, then I'll just stay here. I'll stay here with you as long as you want me to.Â

Terrible Things || Closed Para
Tap tap tap tap tap goes the eraser end of Lorina's pencil against her desk, a nervous habit of hers. She brings pencil up to her lips and chews on it as she studies her notes, then only seconds later puts it back down and continues tapping it against her desk again. Her eyes bug out as she tries to take in everything she possibly could before her big exam. Her eyes wander over to the digital clock on the far corner of her desk, the glowing red numbers 10:00pm. Where in the world did the day go? With a groan she slammed her head down on her desk and fell asleep just like that.Â
A week ago, this was Lorina's biggest worry, studying for exams and going to class. Now, thoughts of school could not be further from her mind.Â

Lorina was relieved to finally be able to do normal things after all that terrible snow Disney had that kept everyone in their homes for so long. Although she had been home spending time with her sister, she felt a little guilty because felt that the only reason they spent so much time together was because they were literally forced to. It wasn't that they didn't get along well, admittedly they had their moments, but they're sister, they're not always going to get along. With Alice being silly the majority of the time and Lorina being the serious sensible one, they've had their fair share of arguments.Â
To make up for the more than usual grumpiness on Lorina's part though, she decided that she would surprise Alice with a girls night, just the two of them. Lorina was going to let Alice pick a movie of her choice, and she even went out that day to buy Alice's favorite snack, chocolate marshmallow tea cakes.
"Alice I'm home!" She called out as she walked through the front door, with a shopping bag in hand and her house keys rattling each time she moved. Lorina closed the door behind her, walked through the living room and into the kitchen to set the snacks down.Â
"Ugh you would not believe what a mad house the grocery stores are. I know people need things after being cooped up from the snow and what have you but honestly! I brought you a surprise though!"Â
Lorina walked back out into the living room only to find that it was empty. She walked into the kitchen again. Empty. "Alice?" She called out again. "Alice are you hiding again?" She walked around the house, checked her bedroom, her sister's bedroom, the bathrooms and the basement. "This is not the time for one of your hide and seek games. If you're planning on jumping out and scaring me can you please come out now so I can talk to you?"
Dead silence. Not even their parents were home apparently. How very odd. Lorina sighed, realizing she was getting no where and Alice was probably just stubbornly waiting until she was least expecting to jump out.Â
She went back upstairs from the basement and back to the kitchen to put the snacks away when she passed by the phone that was mounted on the wall near the doorway. The light indicating that there was a message on their answering machine was blinking. Lorina picked up the cordless phone and dialed into their answering machine to listen to the message.Â
The woman on the other end had a brisk robotic tone to her voice. Her fake sweetness was sickening to listen to, and was making Lorina's stomach twist in knots. A voice so unfamiliar telling her things she never wanted to hear.Â
"Hello, this is nurse Rosemary calling on behalf of your daughter, Alice Liddell. This is to confirm that Alice has been checked in to D'Arqueham and is not to be signed out until further notice. Just a reminder to family and friends that visiting hours are---"
That was all Lorina heard before the phone slipped from her hand. Frozen in place, her hand, although it was empty, was still at her ear. Her jaw dropped, her heart pounding so loudly she could feel it in her ears though it felt as though it had dropped to her stomach because it been in knots the whole time. She could still hear the robotic voice so clearly in her head repeating the chilling words over and over again.Â
"Oh my god," She whispered to herself in a shaky voice before racing out the front door.Â
They tell me when to go to bed.
I think I was seven the last time someone did that. There’s so many rules… the nurses remind me of Lorina.
I miss her.
I want to go home.
Alice....
I came as soon as I heard! What's happened to you why are you here!? The nurse won't let me sign you out what's going on?
I've been sitting outside all day
I think I’ll teach people how to knit Lorina you should come along and give me some coins and I can teach you how to play with yarn.
Yes I think its an excellent idea that I come along with you. Can't have you wandering off and getting yourself lost in the snow. Goodness no, Alice would never let me hear the end of it.Â
You want to teach me to play with yarn? Well I suppose I could be your first customer. Very well then, I will take one lesson on playing with yarn.Â
I've been sitting outside all day
Noooooooooo I have to get it on my own.
Well if you insist. Do be wary of strangers though
I've been sitting outside all day
Then I’ll teach people how to knit and they’ll give me coins and I’ll buy milk! I just…I wish I had some milk while I worked.Â
Yeah see there you go. Oh well if you wanted milk so bad you know you could have some of ours, we have plenty of it.
I've been sitting outside all day
Do people really have to be taught how to knit? I just figured out how to do it.
But people don’t know how to catch mice for themselves either, so I guess maybe they don’t know how to knit.
Catching mice....riiiiight  okay. Yeah you could definitely teach knitting though, I'm sure theres at least a handful of people around here that don't know how to
I've been sitting outside all day
….Oh ok. I’ll teach people how to climb bookcases. That can be fun too.
....That may not be the safest idea either. Maybe you could teach people to do something else? Something less dangerous perhaps like reading or knitting, things of that sort
I've been sitting outside all day
Believe me you'll be much better off, you can never be too careful when dealing with stranger too.God only knows the kind of trouble you might've gotten into.Â
I've been sitting outside all day
I have mittens on. Lorina why don’t people want to climb?
It’s one of the funnest things to do.
Perhaps because its below freezing Dinah and its very slippery and icy outside right now. How about you climb inside for now, just until temperature raises a bit hmm?
