I feel like I'm still falling in love with my new camera at this point. Never before have I been so happy with my forest shots in terms of light & colour, and more importantly feel.

Hung out at a skatepark for the first time in ages, more fun with the new camera

Gifted myself a smaller Fujifilm camera after 2+ years of doubting and saving a lot of money since nothing's been going on for a year.

First impression's been really great, so here are the first shots.

This one is about warmth and softness. Cozy, too. It's bedtime beckoning from above with a promise of warm blankets.

Midnight updates

Is it a window into the outside / another world ?

The colours caught my attention. And their bright contrast with the surrounding dark. So it's partly a study in colour. And perhaps partly a prompt for a question, given these times. These days, especially for me, computer screens have become the connection to the outside. They're implements of work, communication, entertainment, connection. And frustration, potential addiction, (self-)deception and so forth

When the humans are gone

Both a test of long exposure with hand held shooting, and a possible precursor to a photo project I might undertake in the future.

The essence of this set is looking at my home town (and by extension our human areas in the world), but without the humans in it. Everything remains the same, just without humans. Night time makes it much easier of course, but for the first time in a while I feel I've also captured the feeling I was looking for.

People have tried to tell me you can't shoot out of hand on slower shutterspeeds than 1/50s. I will continue to ignore that, especially with an OIS lens.

Shot at 1/10 and 1/5s with Canon EF 35mm/f2.0.
