@lornatpond
"Excuse me. Any particular reason you're sneaking around UNIT headquarters?"
"At this point I think I'd actually kill for another woman to work at UNIT. Honestly, I think I may have to start recruiting."
"Na, na. Ye didna. Did ye need somethin’?"
"Yeah actually. This might be a really strange question, but could you tell me if you’ve seen a blue police box around here anywhere?"
His eyebrows rose in surprise. “Blue box?” Jamie repeated. “I have, aye. How did ye ken..?”
"Wait seriously?! You...you've actually seen it? Wait...it is the TARIDS right? Not just some random police box?"
"Jeez, you’re a lot different than how Aria and Mels described you. She said you were nice. I’m Lorna, Lorna Pond, technically your aunt in law…if that’s even a thing."
“You’re Lorna Pond? I…I am going to be in so much trouble for being rude to you. Next time, mind giving me the heads up before I get grumpy with you? Or, you know, we could just forget about what just happened and start over? Nice to meet you, miss aunt lady person, you’re kinda shorter than I imagined you to be.”
"Why do you say it like that? Of course I'm Lorna Pond...why, did you think I'd be different? But...sure, next time I can give you a heads up. Though, just for the record, calling me short probably isn't going to help. Just...y'know...so you know. So you've met Aria then yeah, and Mels? I'm not giving you any...what's that word Mels uses again...spoilers?"

Lorna’s mouth opened and closed a few times. She may have logically thought that this woman could have been her sister, but still, being confronted with the woman you’d wanted to meet for so long made things a little overwhelming. Of course, she was curious about the 51st century too, but the woman in front of her was far more important right now. “I…you…you’re Melody?! I’ve been babbling this whole time and you’re her? That’s…really mean! Why didn’t you just tell me? You…you’re my sister!”
River smiled thinly at the girl’s— well, her sister’s, she supposed— outrage. Tilting her head as she examined her, she didn’t know what she thought she would find, but it wasn’t there. “Well, sweetie, not all the people who are looking for me are quite as innocent as you are.” She chuckled running her fingers over the hostler on her hip pointedly. Even at this moment, the men— if they actually proved to be human— who were looking for her could have appeared and put both of their lives at risk. “One has to be entirely sure about someone’s motives before they reveal they’re a complex event in space and time— not to mention a bit of a psychopath that’s wanted across the cosmos for a laundry list of misdeeds.” She inclined her head in mocking apology, “You’ll have to forgive me.”Â
"Wait," Lorna breathed, looking at her sister quizzically. She tried to shuffled through all the stories Amy and Rory had told her about River in her head, and the way the woman's words matched up with them was almost eerie. It was like watching your childhood hero come to life, and in a way, Lorna supposed that's exactly what it was. "So you're telling me that all that stuff Mum and Dad told me...about the Doctor and you growing up with them in the future and all that...that actually happened? I always thought they were just...having me on. That you just...grew up and didn't like us anymore so you left and Mum and Dad didn't want to admit it or something. But...it's really all true? All of it?"
"Wow. Did someone bite you in the butt this morning or what? You must be Danny, am I right?"
"Forgive me for having a bad day and not wanting some girl following me. How rude of me. I might be Danny, it depends on who’s asking."
"Jeez, you're a lot different than how Aria and Mels described you. She said you were nice. I'm Lorna, Lorna Pond, technically your aunt in law...if that's even a thing."
"Don’t even bother following me. Seriously, don’t."
"Wow. Did someone bite you in the butt this morning or what? You must be Danny, am I right?"
"Na, na. Ye didna. Did ye need somethin’?"
"Yeah actually. This might be a really strange question, but could you tell me if you've seen a blue police box around here anywhere?"
"I didn’t know! I just…wasn’t expecting you to be home so early! Didn’t you have a…super schmancy author meeting or something?"
"I did yeah. Got done early though." Amy crossed her arms over her chest and looked down at her daughter. "Why what have you been up to young lady?"
"Nothing," Lorna protested, loudly and a little too quickly, "I haven't been up to anything! I just...wasn't expecting to see you home so early is all. Usually you talk for...forever, so I thought I'd have more time to y'know...do stuff. Y'know...like all that stuff you asked me to do before you got home. It's um...sort of not done yet."
"Woah…Mum…is that you?"
"Course it’s me! Who else were you expectin’? The prime minister? Actually…don’ answer that last bit."
"I didn't know! I just...wasn't expecting you to be home so early! Didn't you have a...super schmancy author meeting or something?"
”——Are you trying to get us killed?”
"Um...no? Did I do something wrong?"
"Woah...Mum...is that you?"
"Um...hi. Not that I don't appreciate company, but...what exactly are you doing in my house at three am? How did you even get in? That shouldn't be possible."
"Um…hi…sorry…am I interrupting something?"
"No, actually."
"Did you need to sit down?"
"Um...yeah. That might actually be nice. I'm Lorna. You?"

River whistled low as the girl pulled out her manipulator. She was either very good, incredibly good, or she was telling the truth. Looking her over with her head tilted to the side, River seriously doubte the girl was better than her. After all, this was what she did. “You’re in the 51st Century, dear. This is the space colony that I made my home after being released from the top level security prison for killing a man that doesn’t exist anymore— And I’m Melody Pond.” A slow smile spread over her lips. “Pleasure.” It was baffling, this girl appearing out of nowhere, but something about her made River pleased beyond all reason. She wasn’t alone, not any more.Â
Lorna's mouth opened and closed a few times. Lorna looked hopeful when the woman in front of her went to lower her weapon but jumped when it came back up. “Y…yeah! My name’s Lorna, Lorna Pond. Or well…Williams but I go by Pond. I don’t want any trouble…well I do get in trouble a lot but I definitely don’t want to get shot! I’ve just been looking for my sister for awhile now and I know sometimes weird things happen in her life and I thought maybe this might have had something to do with her. If not I’m really sorry I just…please don’t shoot me. I’m…really not needing to get shot right now!”
River stared at the girl with a blank face for a long moment. It was difficult to process. How— when— Her mind churned with the possibility that this girl could have actually been a Pond, a sister, in fact. River dropped the gun but still had a critical eye trained on her.
"Let’s say for one moment that I believe you, which I am not entirely sure I do. How are you even possible? When and where are you from and how in the name of the seven systems— how did you get here?" Â
Lorna looked at the woman critically. She seemed strangely emotionally invested in the situation...or maybe not so strangely. The gears began to churn in her head and the pieces began to click. Could this be the sister she'd heard so much about? She let out a relieved sigh when the woman lowered her weapon and swallowed thickly.
"I'm adopted...if that helps. I was born in 1947 in New York, but I was given up to an orphanage. Mum and Dad adopted me when I was just a baby. They're the only parents I've ever known. As for how I got here...I'm not entirely sure. I'm pretty sure it has to do with this though." She held up her wrist to show the vortex manipulator strapped to it. "Technically, it was given to my brother. We're not sure who dropped it off, but they said it belonged to my sister. Tony never uses it though so I thought...why not? I've been looking for my sister for a long time and I thought maybe examining something of hers could give me a clue. Then I hit something and somehow I ended up here. Where and when exactly am I?"
"Oh my God…it can’t be…but…it has to…uh…excuse me…is that the TARDIS?"
  “Yes, yes it is.”
" … How do you know what she’s called? Have I met you before? You don’t seem familiar. I think I’d recognize that face."
"No no, we've never met before...but I've seen you in pictures. You...you're really the Doctor?"
