         elliot laughed along as she defended her and her mothers shopping trip, wondering for a moment if a bond was going to be made between the two of them, and when he continued to think about it, he wouldn’t mind if one was. watching as she started flipping through her notes while speaking to him, elliot realized he probably should be paying a little more attention to their work as well. he opened to a fresh sheet of paper in his notebook, writing down the topic they’d chosen at the top of the page. “there’s a thrift store near my house, but i’ve never seen any glasses there before. so not really, if you have any place in mind.” he looked at her, raising an eyebrow. “keep it reasonable, though. i can’t drive and money is tight. i’ll still have to pay for an eye doctors visit and the prescription lenses so… the cheaper the better.”

“So you think that I’m made out of money or something?” She gave an obviously fake offensive glare toward Elliot and broke character after a few short seconds. “There’s this man- well he thinks he’s a man, who owns our entire town essentially. He owns his own grocery store, has his own spot on the city council, and he’s always in the know about everything. Anyway, he is a partial owner of this part optometrist part glass shop. I’m sure me knowing him will give you a discount.” It was brave of Rory to even think about running into Taylor Doose and chatting extensively for hours about things that are just completely not important. Yet if it meant cheaper glasses for Elliot then it’s worth the risk.

In My Head: Rory should've gotten back with Jess in Philadelphia. Logan was unfaithful and condescending and Rory deserved better. Jess especially deserved better, Rory shouldn't have kissed him if she wasn't going to get back with him. He's been through too much to get that, he deserves Rory, the good Rory, the one that understands him and wouldn't kiss him then leave.

Your RP partner is not an object. Your RP Partner is a person. They have thoughts, feelings, down days, real life troubles and time constraints, finicky muses, and other priorities. They do not exist to cater to your needs.

RPing is about having fun for everyone involved, not just one person. Your RP relationships are actual relationships with actual human beings. Because of this, however, there are also abusive RP partnership behaviors to be aware of:

Objectifying/Manipulative RP Behaviors 1. Being possessive about who a partner can and cannot rp with. 2. Demanding replies (if a partner gives you nothing, just move along, don’t harass people. NO ONE owes you ANYTHING EVER). 3. Posting passive-aggressive ooc posts or sending passive-aggressive or trolling anons in an attempt to manipulate a partner into RPing with you or reacting in certain ways. 4. Ignoring or blatantly disregarding a partner’s stated rules, triggers, or boundaries. 5. Minimizing your partner’s real life circumstances (real life ALWAYS take precedence over RP).

Do not be a manipulative, abusive, or objectifying RP partner. Your RP partners are people as well, and that must ALWAYS be respected. If you are unhappy with your relationship arrangements, discuss it one on one, not anonymously, and communicate. If there is no way to come to a solution, then decide to go your separate ways. 

Treat one another with respect and dignity please.

ooc; sorry i wasn’t on today, for those who dont know i have pmdd which makes it suuuuuper hard to deal with what the day entails and today i stayed in bed all day with no energy and all i could do was fall asleep while watching netflix. i am on medication to help, which it does tremendously, but some days i just have to have bad days. hopefully ill be back in tip top shape soon <3

         elliot pondered her suggestion of him getting glasses again, knowing that she probably was right. since he was now destined to be a back row student, he probably should splurge on his next paycheck rather than risking straining his eyes. “okay, yeah, you’re right.” he decided right then and there. “i get paid on friday, so i guess there’s not really any excuse for me to not at least try to get some.” he tilted his head to the side, smirking at her. “unless you’re busy, and can’t help me pick out the frames. ‘cause from what it sounds like, you seem to be the expert.” he suggested, even surprised at himself for having the confidence to incite the two of them hanging out. “luckily i’m not as picky as your mother sounds, so we won’t need the entire weekend to find a good pair, probably just a couple hours.” 

Rory was appalled by how quickly Elliot agreed to get glasses. She was used to having tear down brick wall after brick wall just to get her mother to agree to something, this was something so new to Rory. “Wow um, yeah I should be free on Friday,” she said this completely forgetting Friday night dinners with her grandparents and mother. For something so routine it was astounding how quickly she forgot about it. “Oh and yes, you are completely right about that. But don’t be foolish about not taking the entire weekend. Yes it might have wasted time, but bonds were made.” Rory was now multitasking, working on the project while talking, making no errors in doing so. She began to grow excited thinking about it, making plans wasn’t something that she did very often. Most days she preferred to stay at home, studying, eating, and just hanging with her mom. “Did you have a specific place in mind to shop?”

but why weren’t there more scenes with Rory, Jess, and Paris sitting around talking about literature????? Or Rory, Jess and Lane hanging out talking about music???? This is an injustice

a single dad x kindergarten teacher plot where his kid is in love with the teacher, always talking about them when they get home, making them pictures and always raising their hand in class being the best student they can be. the father finds this adorable because the kid is so whipped by this teacher he’s never met due to work and the fact his mother is always picking them up. so, parent teacher night finally comes and it’s time for them to meet. and the dad realizes the reasons why his kid is so whipped in the first place.

          the boy smirked as she tried to explain herself, promising that she hadn’t meant him in particular. her comment hadn’t bothered him exactly, but he had wanted to make sure that she knew he had no plans to let her down like the other kids. he laughed slightly at her comment about his needing glasses. “oh, i had glasses once.” elliot reminisced, the days of being able to see things clearly were blurred not just by his bad eyesight, but by the bad memories that clouded the last few moments of wearing them. “dropped them in the front yard a few years back,” elliot lied, shrugging his shoulders. “my old man ran them over in his truck. we can’t afford new ones, so squinting will have to do.” the second part was true, his father had crushed them in the truck, but it wasn’t as casual as elliot was portraying it to be. “if i could have glasses again, though, i’d get them in a heartbeat. doesn’t matter if they’re in style or not, really. besides, as you can tell, i’m not really someone who’s actively dressing to impress.” he gestured at his baggier attire, realizing he’d even been sporting his ripped jean jacket today. 

The world of wearing glasses wasn’t a world that Rory was too familiar with, although she listened diligently. “That’s a shame that he ran them over. What are the odds that would happen?” She returned her attention back to the assignment momentarily before coming back to the conversation. “Oh really? I thought the whole Johnny Depp inspired look was just a way to win over the teachers.” Rory jokingly elbowed him in his side. “No but seriously, if you want glasses then you should really think about it. Now that it’s the future and all, I see ads online for buying glasses for almost nothing nowadays. Or so they say. And I’m pretty good when it comes to picking out frames. My mom wanted new glasses so we spent two whole days shopping all over the state looking for just the right pair, only for her to change her mind. All because ‘if Charlize Theron doesn’t need them, then why the hell do I?’”. Just recalling the memory made Rory shudder.

Open Rory Gilmore starter! (open to anyone and everyone!)

Rory sat next to the other at the table next to the overly rambunctious bar. It was a bar near the college near Yale which she attended and thought that it might be a good place to take the other. She watched them, realizing that the other was swirling around the beer within their cup, “you know I heard that beer is actually meant for consuming. That’s just a rumor though.” However, she too had hardly touched her own beer.

        elliot looked up at her from his textbook as she defended her usual grades, surprised to hear her say that she would do all of the work if she had to. the boy shook his head, wanting to roll his eyes but deciding against it. “i know i might not look like the kind of guy that puts in much effort when it comes to schoolwork, but i’ll surprise you.” elliot assured her, giving her an optimistic smile. elliot wasn’t the type of person to slack off when it came to group projects anyway, but something about rory made him feel bad to know that others had done it to her in the past, and it caused him to want to reassure her that he wasn’t going to do the same.  “i’m not just going to dump the whole project on you, like other lab partners, you can trust me on this, okay?” he guaranteed. his eyes flickered from her, to her notebook, filled with indistinguishable handwriting. leaning in closer, he chuckled a little, looking back up at her for a moment. “your handwriting might actually be worse than mine,” he opened up his notes, showing off his own chicken scratch. “they are lengthy though, i’ll give you that. i’m sure mine would be just as long if i could read the shit she’s writing on the board.” 

Rory’s eyes widened when she realized how Elliot must have taken what she said, “oh no, I didn’t mean it like that. I’m sure you do great stuff, it’s just sometimes people get tired when I try to perfect the project which makes it easier for me to handle it, that’s all I meant.” She put her hands up in defense, wanting to clarify herself, “I didn’t mean you, I meant people.” Her worried look soon faded when he told her to trust him and she gave him a reassuring nod. Offending somebody unintentionally is something that she hated to do. Offending someone who deserves it on the other hand... “Have you considered getting glasses or something? I think they’re in style again,” she mentioned half joking half not.
