It begins with a birthright. Before anything, the Upper East Side belongs to those who have been born with a certain privilege that others outside their bubble cannot begin to fathom. It's difficult to explain to outsiders that even new money can't grant you entry. You have to have the right last name, the right family lineage.
But when you're so far up, it's a terrible fall. One little scandal could knock you down, shattering your entire world to a million little pieces. No one's hands are clean—in order to get to the top, you need to break rules, lie, cheat, expose, do what you have to in order to succeed. For some, it felt like the only thing tying it all together was everyone keeping each other's secrets. After all, everyone making it in this world knew there wasn't a single person with clean reputations. It was almost like an open secret, this backstabbing and betrayal and straight-faced lies.
PARADISE LOST is a mature, 18+ roleplay inspired by the original Gossip Girl (2007–2012). The plot follows a group of twelve people belonging to the Upper East Side in New York after Gossip Girl, an anonymous blog from their high school days, returns five years after unexpectedly going dark.
