Me, rewatching The Leftovers and reacting to each episodes even though I know what’s coming next …
good afternoon ladies and gentlemen today i am thinking about how, to get out of the hotel world the first time, kevin had to see patti for the scared little girl she was and listen to her story and show her grace….. and then the second time he had to extend that grace to himself………… kevin spends the whole season not able to believe that he deserves a home or a family or love, he self-sabotages at every turn, but when the man on the bridge asks why kevin should get to go home and he finally says “because i deserve to” like…… doing battle with patti was never about killing it was about understanding….. it was about forgiveness….. and in the end the person who kevin needed to forgive most was himself…………………..
Nora Durst is easily one of the best characters that’s ever been written. I’m in love with everything about her.
“That's how I found you, Nora. I refused to believe you were gone.”
— Kevin Garvey, The Leftovers, Season 3: The Book of Nora
People talk a lot about creepy middle-aged men looking for younger girls to date, but I've seen a LOT of the same creepy attitudes toward high schoolers in men in their mid-to-late-20s.
