TUT Regency Era Rules
There are a lot of rules during the Regency Era. From what to have for dinner to how to properly mourn, the ways of life during this era are  endless. Since this is a RP, there a some rules we as Admins felt did not make sense when one is rping. So here are some rules we are changing so that there is more freedom while in this RP:
Mourning Period;Â
Usually for woman, a mourning period includes isolation and wearing black for a year (Men only have to wear a black piece of cloth around on of their arms as well as socialize). Because it is unrealistic to have your character stuck at home for a year with no one to talk to, we are cutting the mourning period to four months and females may have visitors and go out in public in moderation.Â
Chaperons;
All unmarried ladies must ALWAYS have a chaperon while talking to a man. Unless they are a family friend, it is seen as âscandalousâ for unmarried people to socialize in private without someone being close by to make sure the womanâs purity is in tact. Because it would be hard to always make sure that another character is there during these meetings then you have the choice of having a NPC as a chaperon nearby or you knowâŚyou can break the rules of etiquette⌠;)
Letter Writing;
FEEL FREE TO HAVE CHARACTERS WRITE LETTERS TO EACH OTHER! Since this era has no cellphones or computers, writing letters was the way to go if they donât talk in person. Feel free to make regular text post or submit letters to each other. This is also a way to plot with characters.
London Season;
For many upper class people, the Season in London is a huge event. In TUT, it would be the same thing. Rules for this period will be posted in the future. But we will tell players that the Season will be open to all classes in this RP and that you hold back from going to London until we make the official post.Â
Sex;
Just remember that if people find out that your character (especially females) is sexually active then you will be ruined. Otherwise, go and have fun kids!!!
Same Sex Relationships;
It was very frowned upon to have gay or lesbian relationships during this time period. Yet because this is a RP, the admins are MORE than okay with it. Just remember to make sure that other people donât find out. Regency people LOVE a good scandal.Â
