There was a distant, cut-off scream as something hit the ground. And apparently that thing was a green gemstone. Just the stone? Odd, something had to do the screaming... [lost-peridot]

“ Well that’s odd ”

The young female scientist known as Outlet stood over the odd gemstone, having heard the screaming before— it had caught her off guard, and also concerned her some what… After all, if something was screaming outside her lab, she’d have to assume it was due to some monster escaping or something.

She soon reached down and picked up the lime green gemstone and inspected it much closer.. what the heck was this all about?

“Used as supplements? How?”She paused “..Forgive all the question, I don’t know much about how other planets work”

Peridot seemed more curious ow, but still visibly concerned about the ways of the people who live here

“Well.. they’re eggs.. so its sorta like..” She made the motion of cracking an egg “They sorta just eat the yolks and the whites to make them selves stronger.”

“You mean people eat unborn creatures?! What is wrong with organics, why are they so strange?!”

Peridot appeared terrified at that thought. As if killing wasn’t bad enough, as far as she knew.

“What is the point of that place if they don’t care about them?!”

“Abandoned eggs are used for many different means.. if the egg is not perfect.. it gets taken to the incubator, where its either hatched, or used as supplements.” She explained with a light sigh.

Meiko sat at her table, brewing tea for the two of them. She seemed upset about something...

The green gem had only just woken from what seemed to be sleep. Between the gem equivalent of a hangover and something else, she didn’t exactly seem too well.

“Huhh….How did I get here?”

Peri froze up. The way Meiko reacted, she must have see that earlier.

She pushed that thought away for now, as at the moment she just needed to forget that happened, just get her mid off of it.

“Sanagi? Interesting name…”

The kid grinned.

“It means chrissa- …  kryst- … ckrisstall- … The thing caterpillars turn into before turning  into butterflies!” She said.

Meiko stifled a laugh in the sleeve of her haori.

“Oh, those things. I’ve heard of them before.” She gave a slight smile, then winced, but chose not to say anything about it.

“Sounds simple enough! Lets get going!” The gem started to run ahead, then stopped, realizing that probably wasn’t a good idea. After all, it would probably be easy to get lost here.

“Don’t worry. It’s a pretty straight forward path.. and the building it labeled..so if you get lost just look for that..” She explained with a small smile. “They’re kinda idiots not hiding that sorta thing..”

“Wait, why would they hide it, is no one allowed here?” Peridot looked concerned, she had not thought this would be a case of theft. But whatever the case, they were already too far to turn back, as far as she was concerned

Leaning over the gem was a rather odd little kid, A spotted Octoling not yet finished with her metamorphosis was trying to get a closer look, not even bothering with the concept of personal space.

“GYAAH” Peri backed up, eyes seeming to flash red for a split moment, before she settled down, realizing this is merely a kid.

“…I need to go back to ripp– No, bad idea. I should head to an isolated spot back on the earth I know after I can get out of this place…”

Standing up upon being re-shod, Meiko looked down at Peridot. Not out of any kind of superiority complex, it’s just that when you’re 6'7" like she is, you don’t have much of a choice if you wanna talk to somebody.

“Beg pardon? I didn’t catch that.”

“I-Its nothing important, not to you anyway” The gem sighed, looking away. Her eyes were still wide, visor still covered in octoling ink, as were her hands. Eventually she just kinda falls over, apparently just fainted.
