This is the version of Wednesday Addams that I want to see when she’s deprived of Enid’s presence. Stripped of her edges like a chipped knife in the far back of a junk drawer. Reduced to wearing gray sweats and doomscrolling on a stolen phone, all because her sunshine wolf isn’t where she should be.

A depressed Gomez went from an unflappably suave, swashbuckling madman in a pinstripe suit, to an irritable schlub binging daytime TV. It’s only natural for Wednesday to experience something similar. 🤔

Wednesday is walking down a corridor when she is surrounded by Bianca, Divina, and Yoko on three sides

Bianca: We need to talk

Yoko: We heard about your plans for Enid

Divina: and we want in

Wednesday: . . . my plans for Enid?

Yoko: Don't play dumb, it looks ugly on you

Bianca: We know about your plans to "take her out"

Wednesday: What do you believe I intend to do?

Divina: Honestly we have no idea, either way you've got one shot and for Enid's sake we're not going to let you screw it up

Wednesday: You believe I am in some way in adequate?

Bianca: You excel at many things we can't fault you there

Yoko: But if this is to be yours and Enid's first or last date she deserves the best

Wednesday: My apologies, you believe there is a real possibility I intend to harm Enid and you would not stand in my way?

Bianca: We could easily stop you, I could tell you to leave and never come back

Wednesday begins to walk against her own will

Yoko: Frankly it's a pathetic how she'll do anything for you with just the slightest

Divina: *puts a finger on Yoko's chin and turns her face with a touch* We've talked about this

Yoko: *blushing* Enid is allowed to be as stupid in love as she wants

Divina: *smiles* Good girl

Bianca: So we know if we did anything to you even with her life potentially on the line we would never hear the end of it

Divina: So better we arrange the greatest date of her life

Bianca: and afterwards should anything happen to her be prepared to disappear

Bianca looks at it and cautiously shakes hand as she turns she freezes as Wednesday gently pats her back

Bianca: I'm-I'm not sure, she shook my hand and told me I showed marked improvement then gave me a pat on the back . . . it was . . nice?

Ajax: Is she sick?

Enid: *arms crossed, frowns*

Agnes is running to Wednesday when she trips on a loose cobblestone spilling coffee on her

Wednesday: *let's out a sharp breath*

Agnes: Wednesday I am so sorry!!!!! Chastise me I deserve it

Wednesday: *takes a breath then puts a hand on her shoulder and squeezes*

Agnes: *seizes up* I can take it

Wednesday: Everyone makes mistakes, just use more caution next time *pats Agnes on the head*

Wednesday leaves

Enid: *appears* What just happened?

Agnes: I think I died?

Enid: *let's out a low growl*

Wednesday: During my first semester I was not the most agreeable roommate to Enid

Wednesday: Which is why I wished to thank you for being a confidant she could turn to and provide her a safe space

Wednesday: *smirks and wraps her arms around Yoko*

Enid: *pulls them apart* When I said it wouldn't kill you to show your friends more affection I meant me!

Enid: That should be my hug!

Enid: Ugh you're the stupidest smart person I know! *grabs Wednesday and kisses her*

Enid: Is that enough of a clue!!

Enid practically drags Wednesday away

Yoko stunned by the whole interaction sits down

Divina: Hey sweetie are you okay?

Yoko: I think I was just used for a hug

Divina: Do I need to drown someone?
