I started this just after the interview with marriage confirmation. I have seen one or two similar pieces but I wanted to try and throw a pile of historical accuracy on top.

So here we have Agatha and Rio’s Handfasting, the pagan marriage rite that’s existed since the vikings.
They are within a circle of stones, a cast circle which is protective and also can strengthen the magic within.
The broom they will jump over after their vows are said, a symbolic act of taking on the world together and entering a new stage of life. It was also a marriage ceremony carried out by those who were not allowed to marry in a church.
The vows are an amalgamation of various examples I could find of handfasting vows, translated into Latin (as all spells seem to be Latin)
Wedding rings were not a definite thing at this time, they may have had them but they may not.
They are both wearing hand woven wedding crowns made of rosemary - this is protective and enhances love and is also a nod to Aubrey Plaza’s own wedding crown.
Wedding dresses were not white yet, or not commonly white, they were usually just very pretty dresses if possible. Blue was traditionally the colour of virginity in the way that white would become (and I suppose if you want to consider virginity as penetrative sex with a man as it would have been considered by the pilgrims, then Agatha never lost that)
I think I prefer the version without vows but I had taken the time to make them so I’ll share both versions.
Here is the English translation of the vows:
I pledge to you that it will be your eyes into which I smile every morning,
I pledge to you my living and my dying, each equally in your care,
I shall be a shield for your back, and you for mine.
I shall not slander you, nor you me,
I shall honour and love you above all others.
This is my vow to you, with which we bind our souls.
This is the final version of Agatha Harkness’ tarot card, naming her as “the neighbour”. This one includes the azaleas she used to kill Sparky, Wanda’s hex in the background, and her brooch.

Thought it’d be fun to draw The Magician Tarot Card as Demiurge Billy since that’s what he’s destined to become. Basically just added Billy to the card because the imagery was too important to leave out (meanings and all that) or change.
Really happy with how it came out and wanted to share.
