With all that had happened, Woody had been focused on trying to get the parts of the suit off without bringing harm to any of them. It helped keep his mind off of what happened to Adam and how he was the hero he was meant to be. He wanted everything to be done with personally. Just wanted to go back to some kind of normal life, even if he had the fear of losing his brains.

He had been writing about different things when there was a familiar voice. He shook his head for a moment before turning around, thinking maybe the guys were teasing him. Or his mind was making things up. What he wasn’t expecting was Adam. Well, what he could only assume was Adam because even though it had the man’s shape, the being before him looked as though he were made of stars. 

After a moment of hesitation, he spoke. “Adam?”

He wanted to approach, to touch and see if this was real but part of him was afraid that maybe it somehow wasn’t. Woody seemed to be seeing him, even recognized him, that eased some of his worries but Adam was still terrified. What was he? Why was he even here? He doubted that even with all that alien knowledge Woody would know.

Adam gave a nod of confirmation, a smile of relief that he wasn’t invisible or some ghost with strange perceptions of himself. “Y-Yeah. . . it’s me.” At least he supposed. Then again who else could he be though? What could he be was a better question.

There was some hesitation before he stepped forward, assessing how Woody reacted to his approach before going much further.

Shit sticks, Michael thought. “Nothing, just taking inventory.“ He tugged on the hat that sat on his head, the outfit ripped from some poor sap that was currently stuffed inside a closet somewhere.

Adam blocked the way out to the best of his ability, eyes narrowing. “Is that so? I was unaware they needed inventory taken again. And usually they introduce me to the new employees.”

    “….in your defense, i had no idea they were the same person, either. but then, the only legend of zelda game i’ve played most of the way through was ‘twilight princess’. so i mean–” there was a shrug before she continued. “were you talking to zach about it? did he laugh at you for not knowing? ‘cause he’s kind of an asshat about that, i wouldn’t worry too much.”

     “oh. . .” he didn’t know if he should apologize or not. it was technically a spoiler, but apparently ‘everyone knew that.’ well, zach was a dirty liar. “uh, yeah. he did. he said it’s common knowledge but i guess it isn’t as common as he thinks. or he lied. which wouldn’t surprise me. sorry if i ruined that for you.“

it had been months. he could still recall those feelings in his last moments, knowing he had to die despite his desire to live. the flash of pain before he was nothing yet still there in a way. it seemed the universe still wanted to keep him for now, blessing him.

he tried to come together several times, all unsuccessful, until now. he’d formed himself yet he was different. looking at his hands he saw the night sky, it traveled across his body into galaxies and nebulae. Part of him was terrified to look in the mirror, he avoided it and most others due to not knowing how they might react.

adam decided to find woody first, that he might respond to this the most calmly and rationally. he let himself return to the void momentarily to find the man, coming together once more in the doorway.

“woody?” the name was soft, spoken with hesitation and anxiety.

“Lit?” He was going to have to learn slang, he was going to be very confused. “Alright, that sounds fun?” Adam started towards an exit, there wasn’t much they could do to stop him now if they wanted to anyway.

     “was it supposed to be well hidden that sheik and zelda are the same person or am i painfully oblivious.” zach had laughed at his reaction, but he honestly hadn’t seen it coming and with his isolation he had no idea. he still wasn’t entirely over it, to be honest.

Well, the offer was tempting in a way. Adam did need to blow off steam, but he didn’t know how much he would enjoy what she considered ‘fun’ when he was, in a way, never allowed to have fun.  “Honestly, I think I really need that.”
