(OOC: So...what happened?)
Everyone's just kind of disappeared lately from Phoenix Down. There has been absolutely no RPing going on the past month. I have no idea if I missed something or people have just decided to drop it altogether, but it's rather disheartening, especially when I have 3 different RP blogs that I want to keep active.
Lost In A New Place (Open)
In all truth, Vivi had missed the time he’d spent with everyone together. He did had been able to visit the others, but never as much as he wanted to. He’d seen a lot less of Dagger in the time before he arrived here. He’d seen less of everyone, but Dagger seemed busy so often. Being a queen must’ve been a tiring job.
Vivi felt a little relieved when Dagger told him he did a wonderful job. Vivi sometimes got worried when it came to trying new things. After all, there were still so many things that he hadn’t ever done, or things he didn’t know a lot about….speaking of things he didn’t know a lot about… “W-Well…” Vivi started as he straightened out his hat. He was trying to find the best way to put this. “…I was wondering if I should ask you or Zidane about this but…I-I figure both of you would be able to give me good advice.” Vivi felt a little awkward asking about this, but Dagger was one of the people he turned to the most, and he needed to try and make sense of it, so if anyone could help, she could. “Erm…I was wondering if maybe you could give me some advice on…love?” Vivi felt his cheeks flush even more. He started to realize Dagger might ask who it was, specifically. He didn’t know how good Dagger was with keeping secrets, and the thought of a particular girl finding out Vivi may-or-may-not-be-in-love-with-her-he-didn’t-really-know-which-was-why-he-was-asking-Dagger-for-advice-in-the-first-place-…thinking about what might happen almost made Vivi’s head spin.
Garnet blinked her eyes in surprise. Love?It had been some time since she last saw Vivi, and while she realized a lot must have changed in that time, it still came as a bit of a surprise. The black mage was often quite shy and reserved, and though he seemed quick to voice his feelings, he was even more timid than usually upon bringing up the subject.
Realizing it must have taken the young man a lot of courage, Garnet smiled before taking a seat on the small couch that decorated the inn room. “Come have a seat," she urged. Sitting back, the young woman took a deep breath. Garnet struggled with her own feelings, she wanted to help her friend in any way she could.
"I’ve never given any advice about this before," she began, “but I’ll try my best." She nodded confidently at him, hoping to ease his nervousness. She watched as his cheeks continued to flush and should couldn’t help but offer a sympathetic smile. She knew the feeling all too well, and even though she did not have anyone to turn to for advice for this particular subject, Vivi had her. The least she could do was be there for him, as he had been for her not so very long ago.
"Tell me everything," she said, encouragingly. “I promise whatever you say will stay between us."
"U-Uhm...o-okay..." Dagger had that smile and personality that helped ease him up and made him trust her naturally. Vivi was still very nervous about this though. He'd never dealt with anything like this before. His cheeks were still flushed, and he took in a deep breath, trying to find the best words for it. He wasn't sure if he could explain it very well...but he had very little to lose in this case. He knew Dagger wouldn't tell anyone else...especially not ZIdane. If she told Zidane, he'd probably try to play matchmaker... "W-Well..." Vivi started nervously, "The thing is I...think I have a crush on...E-" Vivi hesitated. Admitting this was awkward for him. He wondered what Dagger would think of this. He sighed and softly uttered, stammering a little, "...E-E-Eiko..." His blushing intensified and he covered his cheeks with his hands. His glowing eyes looked to the side, nervously. He would say more about it but he couldn't say more yet. This admission alone had been difficult for him to say.
A Day About Town (Open)
Vivi nodded, after straightening his hat a little. “Nice to meet you Noel,” He replied. Maybe Vivi had been more right about Noel than he thought he’d been at first. Maybe he just wasn’t very tactful, and kinda curious like Vivi was. If that was the case, they already had a couple of things in common. After all, Vivi was a very curious person. He always wanted to know more about the world around him. That was the entire reason he knew what he was and how he came to be in the first place, was his curiosity.
“…Pulse?” Vivi slowly replied, wondering what Noel meant. Well, obviously it had to be a place. Maybe it was the world Noel was from. But there were no places where he was from called Pulse, and his world was Gaia. Vivi shook his head, “…U-Uhm…I’ve never heard of Pulse…I’m guessing that’s where you’re from. Where I’m from…er…my world, that is, is called Gaia…and I live in a close to a town called Treno. Though I go to Alexandria and Lindblum pretty often to-” Vivi paused in mid-sentence. The names of those places “meant pretty much nothing to Noel, since he wasn’t from the same world. “Um…anyways…there are lots of Black Mages in Gaia…there’s a whole village of them, actually. I guess there aren’t any Black Mages in Pulse?”
Hearing about Gaia piqued Noel’s curiosity. Treno, Alexandria, Lindblum — those names meant nothing to the hunter, though he was eager to learn. His grandmother had told him stories about how their home used to be, and what Cocoon was like. She’d never been there before herself, only heard about it from family, but her stories were his favourite nonetheless. Torn from his thoughts, he looked back at Vivi. “Black Mages? Like you, you mean?” He slowly shook his head. “Not that I know of.”
The young man sat down next to Vivi, still thinking about what he’d said. “A whole village of Black Mages, huh?” Noel mused, trying to imagine what it must be like. “Are you guys all the same? Appearance-wise, I mean.” His bright hues wandered around the square, though he wasn’t really looking around for something. “Back home, there was nothing like that — I think. Not that I can remember, anyway.” The Farseer tribe was all he knew until he got sent back in time. But even on his travel with Serah through time, they hadn’t really come across anything like that and he surely would have remembered if they had.
Noel seemed really interested in what Gaia was like. He must not have seen many places that were different from his. But Gaia was so diverse, so Vivi wasn't the same way. Otherwise he might've been just like Noel, in all truthfulness. "Oh I see..." He said, reflecting on Noel's response, "...uhm, so...where you come from, is there no one who can use Black Magic, then?" Vivi wondered what a world without Black Magic, or even Magic in general, would be like. He tried to imagine it in his head, but he just couldn't fathom it. Vivi nodded, confirming the fact that the Black Mage Village existed. The village was a pretty small, tight-knight community, mostly made up of wood and straw huts...and it was very secluded, tucked away in a forest. You couldn't get in unless you knew exactly which way to go and how to get past the magic screen that shrouded the city. When Noel asked if they looked all the same, Vivi replied. "Uhm....w-well not exactly...I mean...we look kind of similar like...with how we wear our hats and stuff but...we have different clothes, and staves and things. We're all different enough to tell apart...but we're kind of the same too. Uhm, I don't know if that makes any sense..."

Yeah, I know, I've only been around for a couple of months. I started off as Vivi because he's my favorite and like the best character ever, and then branched out and tapped into my very apparent awkwardness with Laguna. I've really been enjoying PD though and I've started to become really devoted to RPing here. Thanks for being awesome so far guys, and I hope you think I'm awesome too. Lost In A New Place (Open)
Vivi nodded and quickly filled a pot about three-fourths of the way up with water, hoping that would be the right amount. He set it down as Dagger started to show him how to chop some vegetables like potatoes. He remembered his Grandpa doing that sometimes, though he chopped potatoes in other ways sometimes too.
“Oh, me?” Vivi said. “Well…I’ve been going between the Village (Vivi was, of course, referring to the Black Mage Village) and home and visiting Lindblum from time to time…and Alexandria, like you know…I…wish we could all visit each other more…but maybe since we’re here…we can, right?” Then Dagger asked him to light the stove. “O-Oh, sure…” He cast a light Fire spell that should hopefully get it going, and he hit his target without causing too much trouble, luckily. “…Okay…that’s going. Glad I got that right.” When Dagger asked him if there was anything he wanted to do in the meantime, there had been something on his mind lately, even before he wound up in Moogletown, but he hadn’t been sure who to talk to about it. But he figured Dagger was as good a person as any. After all, considering her and Zidane…”Uhm…A-Actually…I kind of want to ask about your advice on something, if that’s okay…” Vivi said, and he started to blush a little, “…b-but it’s…kind of embarrassing and…w-well, I’ve never dealt with this sort of thing before…”
Garnet nodded, “Of course, Vivi. We can visit as much as you’d like. I’m sorry I didn’t get the chance to visit you more often, I’ve really missed all of you so much.”
Running a country was a tiring and busy duty. There was much to be done in terms of rebuilding and easing the public’s worries, and Garnet rarely had time to herself anymore. She treasured her time spent with the group on the road, and she’d often think about their fun adventures together when things got difficult.
Garnet chuckled at the black mage. “Thank you,” she said with a smile, stirring the pot once before placing a lid on top of it. “You did a wonderful job.” The black mage’s fire was hotter than any matches, and the fire quickly brought the stew to a boil. Turning down the gas, she allowed the pot to decrease to a simmer before turning back to her friend.
“Of course, what is it, Vivi?” she asked, concerned for her friend. Vivi was always timid, but he never acted like this before. She was a bit worried, but as he finished his sentence, she noticed he was blushing, easing her previous worries. She smiled and patted his shoulder gently before speaking. “I’ll try my best. What’s on your mind?”

A Day About Town (Open)
Vivi looked up to see the face of the person who asked the rather rude question. Although Vivi had been thinking about how different from everyone he looked, truthfully enough. Still, that was kind of a bad way to put it. Being as somewhat shy as he was, Vivi didn’t fight against it right off the bat though. “Um, I’m a Black Mage…” he started. Then he remembered how Zidane taught him how to deal with some rude or awkward situations and then added, a little more emphatically, “…a-and my name is Vivi!”
Vivi frowned under his hat, though you couldn’t see it. Was this person trying to be rude, or was he just curious and lacking in tact? …Actually Vivi could kind of relate to not being very tactful either. After all, he hadn’t always been great at being social with people. Thanks to Zidane and Dagger he’d gotten a lot better at it though. So, after reflecting on this, Vivi decided not to make a big deal of it. “…what’s your name?” Vivi asked, in a softer, more curious tone, letting the awkwardness of the stranger’s question go.

He’d never seen anything like him, that was for sure — not back home, nor at Cocoon when he travelled there with Serah. That was the thing he liked about Moogletown, however; it was filled with all kinds of people, who all had their own story. Some even came from a whole different world, and that’s what probably intrigued him the most. He’d heard about quite a few cities by now, though he was convinced that wasn’t even close to all of them.
“My name’s Noel,” the brunette replied, crossing his arms in front of his chest. He was curious about Vivi. There were a lot of questions on his mind, too, but it seemed smarter if he’d ask only one at a time. “Where are you from? I don’t think you’re from Pulse, are you? I don’t think I’ve seen anyone like you around before.” Shoot, two questions. That was another thing about Noel: he couldn’t keep his mouth shut sometimes.

VIvi took a seat for a moment as he thought about Dagger’s suggestion. He knew some things about cooking, but not a lot. A lot of what he’d done was help his Grandpa or Eiko cook using his Fire magic…so he knew a few things about temperature and boiling things, but as far as preparing the food and mixing ingredients… “Well…I don’t really know much about preparing food…But uhm, I might be able to help if you show me…and if we need it, I could always use Fire to help things warm up…”
Vivi was going to try his best anyways. He may not know much, but Dagger could always show him. Besides, if he was going to live in this town, he was going to have to figure out some things for himself. “My grandpa taught me some things about cooking…like boiling and simmering and knowing when something’s ready. So I could maybe help a little, I think…”
Garnet nodded happily, “That’d be wonderful. Would you mind fetching a pot of water for me? I’ll get started on the vegetables.”
Placing her shopping basket on the kitchen counter, she went to work unloading it, taking care not to crush the cookies or bread they had just purchased. Garnet took care in washing all of the vegetables, making sure they didn’t have any dirt left on them before she prepared them.
Grabbing a knife and cutting board from a drawer, she motioned for the blackmage to watch as she worked. “You see? It’s quite easy,” she said as she sliced a potato into little bite-sized cubes. “Perhaps next time we’ll have you chop some as well.” She continued on to the carrots and onions, making sure to keep them a uniform size.
As she continued preparing the food, a thought crossed her mind. “What have you been doing?” she question. “Back home, I mean. I hope you’ve been well.” Since taking over as Queen of Alexandria, Garnet had been quite busy, and had felt quite a bit of regret over not visiting Vivi more often.
Slowly she added all of the vegetables to the pot, as well as a few seasonings and some cubed meat she had picked up from the butcher that morning. Before long, the base of their stew was complete. All that remained was to allow it to cook.
“Would you mind lighting the stove, Vivi? I forgot to purchase matches,” she admitted, slightly embarrassed. “After this, we just need to wait for it to cook!” Garnet walked over to the small sink that sat next to the stove, making sure to wash her hands after handling their food. Vivi had been hanging around the inn for a good part of the day and talking to some of the people there, but he knew almost none of them, and a lot of them were…strange. Though they probably thought of Vivi as strange too. After all, there weren’t many like him around. These thoughts were on his mind when he left the inn and headed for the center of Moogletown. Vivi found himself look at a fountain and sat down. He had to wonder if there were other black mages around there, and if there were…well…did they look anything like him? He was still getting used to living in Moogletown after all.
Being back in Moogletown surely was a delight, and Noel didn’t realize how much he missed it until now. The town and its peculiar inhabitants had grown onto him. However, that he’d gotten used to seeing these somewhat strange looking people was a whole different story. And, well, being subtle wasn’t exactly his strongest point.
It wasn’t his intention to be rude to others, but if he wanted to know something, he just asked them. Social skills weren’t particularly important when you were the last person standing. Travelling through time and meeting other people also (surprisingly) taught him that sometimes thinking before saying something wasn’t a bad idea. But most of the time the young man just blurted out whatever was on his mind. Like today.
On his stroll through town, Noel noticed something that wasn’t quite like anything he’d ever seen before. Or someone rather than something. Not being able to resist his curiosity, he approached them, and the closer he got, the more questions popped up in his head.
With his hands resting on his hips, the hunter leaned forward to get a better look at the figure in front of him. “Say,” Noel mused, squinting his eyes at the creature, “what are you?”

Vivi nodded when she mentioned that she hadn’t seen any monsters, but being prepared couldn’t hurt. “Y-Yeah…just in case. I guess maybe a new staff couldn’t hurt. Still…this place seems a lot more calm and peaceful than the Mist Continent back when it was covered in…erm…Mist.” That was something weird for Vivi to think about. What would they call the Mist Continent without Mist? It wouldn’t exactly be fitting anymore, would it?
Just as Dagger asked about lunch, Vivi could hear his stomach growled, and he nodded, adjusting his hat after it moved a little out of place when he nodded. “Yeah, that sounds good. I’m starting to get pretty hungry. I think I know my way around here a little better now, too.” Vivi’s bright eyes glowed as he looked at Dagger happily, nodding once more in affirmation.
Garnet nodded, “Perhaps we should stop by later, then!” Garnet was in need of a change of clothes. Though she had kept her traveling outfit in good condition, she was hoping to find something cooler to wear during the summer months in Moogletown. It had gotten quite hot lately, and the sun was very unforgiving.
His words were true; Moogletown was probably the most peaceful place she had been to in recent years. The Mist Continent was dangerous, and had taught them all valuable survival skills. Perhaps the other residents were just being cautious and hoping to continue their craft. Nonetheless, being prepared was never a bad thing.
“I’m glad to hear that!” Garnet said cheerfully. She wasn’t very confident in her tour giving skills, but she was quite glad that she had the chance to assist her old friend in gaining his bearings. ”Let’s head to the inn, then,” she said, as they made their way back in it’s direction.
The inn had many different sized rooms with various accommodations. Some were single bed rooms while others contained multiple beds. The room Garnet was currently occupying contained a single bed with a built in kitchen. A couch sat on one end of the room, and a dining set on the other.
“You can have a seat anywhere,” she said with a warm smile. “Unless you’d like to help.”

Vivi straightened his hat as he looked in awe at all the different treats and other bakery items that were there. How many things did they make in a day, and how long did it take? “W-Wow…” Vivi said, just staring at everything. “There’s so much stuff here…I don’t know if I could choose-” But something suddenly caught Vivi’s eye! Oh! That cookie!” He smiled pointing at the one. “With sugar in the center!” His bright eyes got even lighter with excitement. He looked up at Dagger happily.
Garnet giggle at the sight of his excitement. The bakery was a bit overwhelming. They had so many fresh baked goods, and even she wasn’t quite sure how the owners managed to keep up with the rush of customers.
She waited a moment, the shop owner would be back up front any second now. The smell of fresh bread flooded the shop as the oven door clanked. Looking toward the kitchen door, the owner greeted the two customers who stood patiently. Garnet returned the greeting to the older gentleman with a smile and a nod, before pointing out the loaf she wanted.
“We’ll take one of your fresh loaves and..” Garnet looked over at Vivi, noticing the delicious cookie he had pointed out. “We’ll take two of those,” she said cheerfully. Garnet paid the man, and watched as he placed their baked goods into a small brown paper bag. She waved goodbye as they exited the shop and continued on their way through Moogletown.
Placing the bag into her shopping basket, she continued heading down the street they were previously on. She pointed out a few more grocery shops and restaurants before turning right and heading down another street.
Stores filled with clothing and armor lined this street. “Many of the residents here were also blacksmiths and tailors. While I haven’t seen any monsters here, I suppose it’s always good to be prepared!”
Garnet looked up, searching for the sun while shielding her eyes. She hadn’t realized how quickly time had gone by, and before she knew it they were already back at the town square. By now it was already late in the afternoon and she was positive Vivi would be hungry.
“How about we head up and get started on lunch?”

I'm starting to get pretty hungry. I think I know my way around here a little better now, too." Vivi's bright eyes glowed as he looked at Dagger happily, nodding once more in affirmation.
“Wow, it’s… Been a while…” The blond scratched his head and looked around, feeling dazed and out of place. It really had been a while since he had gone out into town and now everything felt… Different. Quieter, much quieter than he remembered it being. Tidus shifted his weight and cracked his knuckles, lacing his fingers together and turning his hands outward to stretch his arms. He cracked his neck and walked forward, hoping he’d find someone he knew around here.
Vivi stood at the edge of a patch of grass, petting a chocobo kept in a stable. He seemed to have a way with creatures like moogles and chocobos. They seemed to like him a lot. Maybe it was because of his somewhat gentle and shy nature. Or maybe he was just naturally good with creatures like that, he didn't know. Whatever the reason, Vivi didn't mind interacting with them from time-to-time; most moogles were friendly and nice to talk to, and chocobos were always gentle and calm if you treated them well. Vivi fed the chocobo some more Gyshal Greens when he heard some movement nearby. Vivi turned to see a young man walking close by as the chocobo let out a content "Kweh!"
Lost In A New Place (Open)
Vivi happily took the popsicle and started on it, though he took Dagger’s advice before he could get a headache from it. “O-Oh yeah, brainfreeze wouldn’t be a good thing.” Vivi wondered how brainfreeze worked anyways. He nodded in affirmation though, saying “Ooh, I like grape,” confirming that he was happy with the flavor choice. “I guess there aren’t many flavors I don’t like but this is one of my favorites.”
Vivi’s eyes widened in awe at all the different shops and businesses they passed by. Man, this place was really thriving and full of life, wasn’t it? He caught a nice scent as they stopped in front of the bakery. “Oh wow…” He started to think a little of Lindblum, even. This place seemed just as lively and busy as Lindblum did. When she asked him if he’d like to stop in, he nodded and replied, “Oh, o-of course. I mean, you are guiding this tour.” He adjusted his hat as was his habit and smiled under his hat, wondering what that wonderful scent he caught from the bakery was.
She shook her head giggling, “No, it wouldn’t.” The dull throbbing pain was quite unenjoyable. Garnet thought for a moment, contemplating how it worked. She wondered if perhaps her magic would be able to cure it. Not willing to make herself a test subject, she quickly let the though fade.
Garnet nodded. smiling at the black-mage as he enjoyed his treat. “Well then, I’m glad I chose that one!” Vivi never seemed to be the picky type, but it still made her glad that she could get him something he really enjoyed.
“Alright, then,” she said, placing a hand on his shoulder before opening the door to the bakery. The smell of fresh baked bread filled the air as they entered the small building. Sweets lined the counters and tabletops scattered across the store.
“You can pick something out, if you’d like,” she told her friend, before making her way towards the shopkeeper. She needed something fresh, and by the smell coming from the kitchen, she was sure a nice loaf would be ready any minute.
Vivi straightened his hat as he looked in awe at all the different treats and other bakery items that were there. How many things did they make in a day, and how long did it take? "W-Wow..." Vivi said, just staring at everything. "There's so much stuff here...I don't know if I could choose-" But something suddenly caught Vivi's eye! Oh! That cookie!" He smiled pointing at the one. "With sugar in the center!" His bright eyes got even lighter with excitement. He looked up at Dagger happily.
Adjusting (Luneth)
Vivi nodded. “Mm-hmm. Choco…-er, w-well, that’s the name of the chocobo-…Well we didn’t so much as catch him as we found him in a forest with this moogle named Mene. It took him a little time to warm up to us, but it didn’t take too long. Now we take him a lot of the places go. We just make sure to bring plenty of Gyshal Greens with us to feed him. H-He can tell it’s us even from far away.” He smiled under his hat, and although you couldn’t see it, it sort of radiated from Vivi like a tangible thing.
“Travel alone?” Vivi shook his head. “No, when I say ‘we’ I mean my friends and I. The furthest I ever traveled on my own was from Treno to Alexandria-…” Vivi realized the stranger would probably have no clue as to the distance between Treno and Alexandria. “…and they’re…not too far apart, really. The reason my friends and I had to travel…and how I became friends with them in the first place…w-well uhm…it’s all a long story. For another time, I think.” Vivi shook his hand. “Nice to meet you, Luneth.” “Hm?” Vivi looked up at his hat as Luneth complimented it, and he straightened it a little. “Oh yeah…I always wear my hat. I feel uncomfortable with out it, though I’m not really sure why. Uhm, I usually carry an extra or two with me like I am now, but none of them are as worn or patched like this. I guess I like it the most because I wear it almost all the time, and it’s seen a lot of stuff.”
“Oh” Was all he responded. the answers weren’t odd but they still were what he was expecting. looking down at the smaller one Luneth felt an eyebrow quirk up. He had traveled all over the world. Chalking it up as another thing he really couldn’t imagine the orphan let it go.”Well if it was worthy of mentioning the distance between the two must be a sizeable one!” He smiled encouragingly “Geez you’ve kinda done it all huh? Made friends with moogles, traveled, found a chocobo, wow!” He nodded counting his fingers every time he brought up an accomplishment. But when the other brought up the hat Luneth’s eyes locked in on it taking note to the beat up or as he rather consider it well loved quality.
“It’s nice, even if it is old! I’ve been looking for one but I can never find one like yours. “He muttered still staring directly at it.” Shrugging his shoulders the silver haired boy dropped the subject. “How long have you been staying here? I have seen you out and about before.” It seemed like a safe enough question, not too invasive or nosy but at the same time, curiosity had been tugging at him.
Stopping for a second he looked up startled as he realized he had forgotten his name. Already. Grimacing and biting his lower lip he wracked his brain for something that would trigger his memory to uncover it. They had just met, he couldn’t ask for his name again!
"We-well..." Vivi began, "I...guess I have been through a lot. I mean, I even went to a world different from my own. But I wouldn't have traded it for anything...Traveling with my friends was the best thing I've ever known. I...changed so much because of it. Uhm...I guess you could say I'm a different Vivi, but a better Vivi for it." Vivi looked up at his hat again. He thought for a moment. "Well...I do have a spare with me right now...Uhm I mean I don't know if it would fit but...I mean if you like it and it does, you could hang on to it..." Vivi adjusted his own hat again, "I-I mean...I always wear this one and it hasn't worn out on me yet. You would probably use it more than me." "Well...I've only been here about a couple of weeks...not very long. I'm lucky I bumped into my friend Dagger here. She helped me get adjusted to this place really well." Vivi smiled under his hat. "She's really, really nice. I just hope the others are here too....especially..." Vivi cut himself off, not wanting to go into that....especially when he hadn't dealt with those sort of feelings about someone before, and he was still trying to figure them out. Though it occurred to Vivi it wasn't likely Luneth would know who she was anyway if Vivi mentioned her. Still, it was a bit embarrassing for him, understandably, so he left it there.

Vivi was somewhere he wasn’t used to, but he found himself genuinely happy for a moment. The chocobo happily munched the Gyshal Greens as he fed them to it. It let out a cheerful “Kweeeh!” Vivi had really grown to like chocobos. They were naturally very gentle, kind creatures. But the big difference between chocobos and people was this: He’d never seen a hostile chocobo. Sure, some of them were shy or scared, but never hostile. They never fought each other, or other species. They were a happy peaceful kind of creature. Maybe if people were like that too, life would be better for everyone. He knew it was foolish to think that, but it was a nice thought still. So he stood there, somewhat lost in his thoughts, feeding the content chocobo, as people passed by him, many smiling at the genuinely adorable sight.
The orphan lazed about preforming his daily errands when he saw the corral of the fluffy yellow birds. Stopping he hesitated wanting to go over to the them and feed and pet them he groaned knowing he would be late. Sighing he felt himself cave as he squeezed his way through the busy streets over to the small area. Stopping toward the edge of the crowd he spied a large hat that at the tip flopped backward. He had been searching for a proper mage’s hat but had no such luck in finding one. Rushing over he casually stood next to the owner of the illustrious hat pretending to focus his attention on the large feathered birds.
“They’re nice, aren’t they?” He asked keeping his gaze focused on the bird.
“Hm?” Vivi turned curiously to face the source of the question. He took a gaze at the silver-haired boy who was now standing next to him. He looked to be a few years older than Vivi as far as physical appearance (though for all technical purposes, Vivi’s actual age was about a year by now). “O-Oh…” he started, realizing the stranger was referring to the chocobo. He nodded. “Y-Yes. I really like chocobos. They’re gentle and friendly…” Vivi straightened his hat out a little before feeding the yellow bird more greens. The bird let out a yawn and sat down, and Vivi decided to take a seat next to it on the grass. “They’re really good to have when you’re traveling around…I-I mean, I’ve done a lot of traveling before, but that’s because…er, it’s a long story.” It would take Vivi a while to try to explain all the adventures he had gone on. “I rode one of these with my friend, so…I got used to them after a while.” The other seemed interested in the chocobos well. Well, Vivi might as well take this chance, right? He needed to get to know some people in this town since it looked like he’d be here a while. Why not start now? “U-Uhm…my name’s Vivi, by the way.”
The other seemed shy and reserved. Usually considered the complete opposite to his general personality. “Oh so you ride them too? I like it but its hard to catch them and I rarely ever carry food with me to lure them in.” He confessed. He had for a moment wondered about the traveling he was speaking of, having done some himself the orphan found his curiosity getting the best of him. “You didn’t travel alone did you Vivi?” He found himself actually concerned seeing as the younger boy seemed so timid and reserved.

Vivi looked at Dagger under his hat. She seemed a little uncertain when she talked about being in this strange world. Maybe it was because of her own experiences here…or maybe because she was homesick. Maybe a little of both. He didn’t blame her, though. He would like to be back in Gaia too…er, at least, he didn’t think this place was in Gaia. He would like to at least see home, as nice as this place seemed…
But once she mentioned getting popsicles from the cart, his doubts started to wash away and be replaced by excitement. “Oh, can we?! That would be great!” The little black mage jumped happily. On the other hand, Moogletown did seem like a nice place with a lot to do. He wasn’t adjusted it to it yet, but he had just arrived here after all. Vivi told himself not to worry. After all, Dagger was doing just fine, and apparently Freya and Eiko were here too. It would be alright. At that exact moment a dragonfly came out of seemingly nowhere and landed on Vivi’s finger. This was a perfect example of how Vivi was different from others. Where others might react in surprise and shoo it away, Vivi instead looked at the dragonfly curiously. “Oh wow…this is a dragonfly. I-I’ve…never seen one this close up before.” He looked at it in fascination…and it seemed almost like it was looking at him in the same way. After a few seconds of this, the dragonfly took flight again and went along on its on way, unbothered. Vivi smiled a little under his hat. Yeah. It would be okay. The others would find their way here somehow. He knew it.
Garnet nodded, “Of course!” The excitement in his voice made her smile. “Wait here,” she said, jogging over towards the stand. She stood for a moment, pondering which flavor he might enjoy. The had a wide variety, which only made the decision harder. Glancing over the flavors she finally decided: orange for herself, and grape for Vivi. She paid for the treats and walked back to her companion, who was still waiting patiently for her.
As she approached, a dragonfly landed on Vivi’s finger. She stopped in her tracks, observing the scene before her. It’s wings fluttered lightly, and just as quickly as it had come, it was off again. Garnet smiled to herself, watching his expression change. She was initially worried about how he’d feel about the town, but she could tell he was warming up to it. He’ll be fine, she assured herself.
Continuing forward, she presented him his bright purple popsicle. “I thought you might enjoy this flavor,” she said with a wide grin. “Be careful not to eat it too quickly, you wouldn’t want to get a headache.” Handing it to him, they continued on their way, passing a plethora of shops. She made sure to point them all out and tell them what they all were.
“Here we have a bakery. They make different breads and pastries. They usually begin baking quite early in the morning.” We’ll be having stew for lunch, she thought to herself. “Would you like to stop in? I forgot something for our lunch.”
