Karnivore
The scene was left quite for one a moment as Shang Tsung took to the attempt at organization. The abomination had trashed the lab completely a few times, but each attempt had yielded more and more progress over time. In fact, for a first time in quite awhile it felt like things were…calm. Well…momentarily calm.
An unexpected visitor would disturb the momentary peace.
“Shang Tsung, I have new orders from Emperor Shao Kahn,” Reiko’s voice rang out in the darkened lab which slowly got louder as the gap closed, The general coming into view ,”there are some adjustments to previous orders that he wants to make-…Oh sweet elder gods!”
The history between Reiko and the “child” had been rough, least to say…A chunk of his right arm was missing and a nasty scar was left in it’s place. So, the image of the cleric of chaos holding the unruly thing was a bit much for his mind to wrap around so early in the day.
“Why…why is he here, sorcerer? How did he get ahold of it and why is he continuing to hold it? Look at it, it’s horrendously filthy!” Reiko rambled quickly, gesturing towards Havik wildly causing the abomination sitting comfortably in the crook of the cleric’s arms to begin snarling once more at the offending volume of Reiko’s voice.
He wasn’t much of a fan of the creation and Havik, least to say.
“Oh, how unfortunate. It was rather calm, you know, until you decided to raise your voice.”
havik says this quite dismissively before shang can get a word in, waving a hand to boot and leaning back against a table, perhaps somewhat intentionally knocking over an empty glass vial.
“My bad.”
he says this smugly as shang grumbles, finishing up organizing the vials on the table and then walking over to havik — largely avoiding the grimy childlike thing in his arm — and righting the vial which he had knocked over.
“He is here because I personally requested his aid. He’s holding the thing because he has no sense of morality.”
shang’s voice is strained and grumpy, and havik snickers at the words.
“Oh, please. If I had no sense of morality you wouldn’t be so fond of me, dear.”
“Oh, shut it.”
shang mutters this, attempting now to neaten up his hair.
“Now, then. What was it the Kahn wishes?”
he urges reiko, avoiding looking at the hissing creature in havik’s arms.
Reiko could almost gag at the cleric’s causal use of a term of endearment, but he was a classy, dignified and mature man. So, he visibly let his lips curl upwards in disgust in a grimace. This whole scene- no…ordeal with Havik and the…toddler(?) just radiating chaos was enough to make him momentarily forget why he had arrived in the first place. He would never come to this hell hole without a purpose.
“Ah…yes, right. The great Kahn has new orders for the creature.” the general paused, letting his eyes finally take in the sight of the creature. The eye contact making the abomination lurch forward to take a warning swipe with it’s small claw-like fingers. Reiko averted his eyes back to Shang Tsung, barely able to force down a remark on how the sorcerer was attempting to soothe his disheveled appearance.
“Since there had been no capture, nor any viable examinations of this creature for months, the kahn has ordered it’s extermination.” As the words fell from his mouth, something didn’t settle. He felt no sympathy before, he could almost say he despised the thing. However, this was before he actually got a look at it. It didn’t have scales, tentacles, multiple mouths or eyes. It looked like the rest of them.
“I suggest you toss it into a portal.”
A blissful unawareness does the child possess, that while those around discuss its fate, it simply wriggles around in Havik’s arm, blood flaking off its body and sticking to Havik.
“Exterminate it? A waste,” Havik says dismissively, quite uncaring to what the Emperor could say or do. “I’ll take it. Death be the ultimate Chaos, yet for one so young why subject it to that so eagerly? Let it grow, see what potential it possesses.” Shang casts Havik a skeptical look, hazel eyes flicking from the thing in the cleric’s arm, up to the cleric’s amused blue eyes.
“You? Raise it? That doesn’t sound promising…” Shang mutters, but Havik only gives the sorcerer an amused look.
This could not possibly bode well for anyone. Reiko’s face scrunched momentarily in thought. Havik wouldn't seem the type to launch a crusade into other realms and the child would easily be lost in the vastness of Chaosrealm itself, therefore unable to locate {His softness wouldn't be detected by the Kahn}.
“In truth, I agree. Who’s to say you won't just kill it or use it against us in the future, but...with the situation as it stands, it doesn't matter. As long as you never return with it.” Reiko waved his hand. If this thing would bring the downfall of the current Kahn then so be it. More so a victory for him and his plans in the long run.
“I suggest you leave with it within the next few hours. I’ll be relaying to our Kahn that it was dealt with accordingly and I’d rather him not skin us all alive if he senses discrepancy and comes to investigate.” With that, the outworld general turned and began his ascent up the stairs. Leaving his warning hanging in the air, secretly interested in what events would unfold with this decision and feeling those piercing little, green eyes burning holes into his back.
Once the general was gone, the child squirmed more in Havik’s arms. Intrigued and cranking his neck to see where Reiko disappeared to.
