‘ subjects of this age rarely survive the slave conditioning procedure. ‘
‘ i’ll … keep the ship running. ‘
‘ why do we always get the fun missions? ‘
‘ well, this is another fine mess you’ve gotten us into. ‘
‘ remember? when i reminded you about the giant wall, and you said “don’t worry, [name]. we won’t be anywhere near that.” ‘
‘ bring in the flamethrowers. ‘
‘ let’s just say they have a penchant for playing loose with regulations and rules of command. ‘
‘ just leave a bit of strategic planning for me, [name]? i’d hate to feel left out. ‘
‘ that is one ugly bug. ‘
‘ because i make observations while you think with your lightsaber. ‘
‘ well, when this doesn’t go as planned, which, it won’t, i’ll be ready. ‘

‘ i like to think i’m merely exercising my right to choose - to choose not to kill for a living. ‘
‘ i have a duty, you’re right. but it’s to my family. ‘
‘ yes, well, you and i may be clones, but we’re still individuals. ‘
‘ because i’m part of the most pivotal moment in history. if we fail, then our children and their children could be forced to live under an evil i can’t well imagine. ‘
‘ so when they started working their way through the injured, killing us off, i knew there was no hope. i ran. ‘
‘ it was the day i felt my life had no meaning. ‘
‘ i was just another expendable clone, waiting for my turn to be slaughtered in a war that made no sense to me. ‘
‘ you ran off in such a hurry! i trust you didn’t mean to be rude. ‘
‘ listen for the loud metallic clanging sound. that would be the machine about to smash me into bits. ‘
‘ we’ll have to stand and fight. or, in your case, just stand. ‘

‘ why should i help anybody? i’ve got no one. ‘
‘ i see now i’ve done terrible things. but you started it, when you murdered my father! i’ll never forgive you. ‘

you’re actually here.
you don’t belong here. not after what you did.
you’re seriously gonna do this today?
no forced entry, no sign of struggle. nothing out of the ordinary.
well, that’s because i… broke into the coroner’s office.
there is no mystery here. nothing to avenge. nothing to solve. nothing like that.
you wanna know something stupid? i always used to leave the lights on for him.
hey, i was hoping to see you, actually, because i wanted to get your autograph. add it to my collection!

oh, there are worse things that can happen.
he was a bad person and a worse father.
the world’s better off without him.
you never know when to stop, do you?
believe me when i tell you, life will be hard. it will be painful.
this is your home and always will be.
i know how to do everything.

i’ve decided you’re the only one i can trust.
as far as i could tell, i was the last person left alive.

It was voice he hadn’t heard in years. He hadn’t really expected to hear it again, though perhaps it was for the best. He needed help and guidance. After years of being the master and teaching, he was lost and alone. It was too much of a burden to take on by himself.
Luke turned to face the source of the voice to see the spirit of his father before him. Anakin appeared to him younger than when they had shared a sacred few minutes together as truly father and son on the second Death Star all those years ago, but had no doubt in his mind about the spirit’s identity.
“Father.” He replied. “It’s been some time.”
He gazed on the face of his son. The strength of his longing that he felt surprised Anakin enough that he knew if he were still living he would’ve swayed in place. His son lived to be older then he himself had ever managed. And while he was alone the man looked to be in good health despite the darkness creeping across the galaxy.
“Too much time. It’s... Different how time passes in the force. Like flashes of events but sometimes nothing in between.”
He paused for a moment as anger and agony warred within him. His screwups seemed to follow their family down the line even now.
“I tried you know, speaking to him I mean. I tried for so long but... Well, it seems even with my strength Snoke was already connected too deeply. I keep trying still but even though it has been only a short while...”
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl Sentence Meme
“Cursed pirates sail these waters. You don’t want to bring them down on us now, do you?”
“Bad luck to be singing about pirates with us mired in this unnatural fog.”
“It’s bad luck to have a woman on board.”
“I think it’d be rather exciting to meet a pirate.”
“I intend to see to it that any man who wails under a pirate flag or wears a pirate brand gets what he deserves—a short drop and a sudden stop.”
“You’re a pirate.”
“A fine gentleman, don’t you think? He fancies you, you know.”
“The blade is folded steel. That’s gold filigree laid into the handle.”
“I had a dream about you last night.”
“Apparently there’s some sort of high toned and fancy to do up at the fort, eh?”
“You’ve seen a ship with black sails that’s crewed by the damned and captured by a man so evil that Hell itself spat him back out?”
“I confess, it is my invention to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer my weasely black heart out.”
“Pride of the king’s navy, you are.”
“Do you really intend to kill my rescuer?”
“You are without a doubt the worst pirate I’ve ever heard of.”
“Pirate or not, this man saved my life.”
“One good deed is not enough to redeem a man of a lifetime of wickedness.”
“I saved your life, you save mine, we’re square.”
“You seem somewhat familiar. Have I threatened you before?”
“I make a point of avoiding familiarity with pirates.”
“Do you think this wise boy—crossing blades with a pirate?”
“I practice three hours a day so that when I meet a pirate, I can kill it.”
“He is a fine man, he’s what any woman should dream of marrying.”
“No survivors? Then where do the stories come from, I wonder.”
“Parley. I invoke the right of parley.”
“My sympathies, friend, you’ve no manner of luck at all.”
“The deepest circle of Hell is reserved for betrayers and mutineers.”
“You know nothing of Hell.”
“I’m disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Mean’s no.”
“You are not a military man, you are not a sailor.”
“You want to turn pirate yourself, is that it?”
“If you’re intending to brave all, hasten to her and so win fair lady’s heart, you’ll have to do it alone.”
“This is either madness or brilliance.”
“That is without doubt the worst pirate I have ever seen.”
“I’m not a simpleton. You knew my father.”
“My father was not a pirate.”
“That’s not much incentive for me to fight fair then, is it?”
“The only rules that really matter are these—what a man can do and what a man can’t do.”
“He’s not a man to suffer fools, nor strike a bargain with one.”
“Take what you can, give nothing back.”
“Any mortal that removes but a single piece from that stone chest shall be punished for eternity.”
“I hardly believe in ghost stories anymore.”
“All the pleasurable company in the world could not slake our lust.”
“We are cursed men.”
“Compelled by greed, we were, but now we are consumed by it.”
“We are not among the living and so we cannot die, but neither are we dead.”
“I feel nothing- not the wind on my face nor the spray of the sea, nor the warmth of a woman’s touch.”
“You best start believing in ghost stories. You’re in one.”
“Do you have the courage and fortitude to follow orders and stay true in the face of danger and almost certain death?”
“It’s frightful bad luck to bring a woman aboard.”
“Puts a chill in the bones how many honest sailors have been claimed by this passage.”
“When a man is marooned he is give a pistol with a single shot.”
“Pirates code. Any man that falls behind is left behind.”
“No heroes amongst thieves, eh?”
“For having such a bleak outlook on pirates, you’re well on your way to becoming one.”
“Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate.”
“Our salvation is nigh! Our torment is near at end.”
“Have I ever given you reason not to trust me?”
“Who among us has paid the blood sacrificed to the heathen gods?”
“Begun by blood, by blood undone.”
“What sort of a man trades a man’s life for a ship?”
“People are easy to search when they’re dead.”
“Stop blowing holes in me ship.”
“If any of you as much as thinks the word parley, I’ll have your guts for garters.”
“His blood runs in my veins.”
“That’s the second time I’ve had to watch that man sail away with my ship.”
“Welcome to the Caribbean, love.”
“You’ll be positively the most fearsome pirate in the Spanish main.”
“What a ship is, is freedom.”
“I’m not entirely sure that I’ve had enough rum to allow that kind of talk.”
“Why is the rum gone?”
“It is a vile drink that turns even the most respectable men into complete scoundrels.”
“There’ll be no living with her after this.”
“I beg you, please do this. For me. As a wedding gift.”
“A wedding? I love weddings! Drinks all around!”
“You get to die for her, just like you promised.”
“You’ve been planning this from the beginning. Ever since you learned my name.”
“Even a good decision if made for the wrong reasons can be a wrong decision.”
“Me? I’m dishonest and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest.”
“Will it be two immortals locked in an epic battle until Judgment Day and trumpets sound?”
“Hang the code and hang the rules! They’re more like guidelines anyway.”
“I’m gonna teach you the meaning of pain.”
“Do you like pain? Try wearing a corset.”
“I feel…cold.”
“If you were waiting for the opportune moment…that was it.”
“They done what’s right by them. Can’t expect more than that.”
“For those crimes you have been sentenced to be, on this day hung by the neck until dead.”
“I should have told you every day from the moment I met you. I love you.”
“So this is where your heart truly lies, then?”
“I want you to know that I was rooting for you, mate.”
“Perhaps on the rare occasion pursuing the right course demands an act of piracy, piracy itself can be the right course?”
“This is a beautiful sword. I would expect the man who made it to show the same care and devotion in every aspect of his life.”
“I think we can afford to give him one day’s head start.”
“So this is the path you’ve chosen, is it?”
“Now, bring me the horizon.”
mcsterskywclker:
“Hopefully it ends with us.” Luke offered with some amount of humor. He’s used to the artificial hand by now. Wishing to have his own back doesn’t even occur to him any more. Fighting against reality wasn’t surrendering to the Force. The reality was his own hand was long gone– but the Force was with him. A missing hand was just one in a number of scars and damages that had been placed on his body in pursuit of his vocation as a Jedi. No more; no less.
Luke wsn’t sure how to answer his father’s obvious concern; he won’t answer for Leia or comfort him falsely on her behalf. But maybe there was something he could offer to the ghost sitting beside him.
“She needs time. I know she thinks about you,” Admittedly, it wasn’t often with kindness or affection. “She’s working on reconciling it all– She’s just… lost so much more than others. It’s going to take her a while. Maybe she’ll never forgive you; but take comfort in knowing that she tries. She’s not a hateful person– she’s kind and generous and self-sacrificing. It’s a struggle; it puts her at odds with herself.”
No, Leia might never forgive him– Luke certainly didn’t expect her to– but she would find balance even in her feelings about Darth Vader. That much he had no doubts about– and while that might not be what Anakin’s ghost would want to hear, to Luke that was far more important than bestowing any false forgiveness.
Leia wouldn’t let it tear her apart– if for no other reason than she wouldn’t want to let Darth Vader have the satisfaction.
Anakin chuckled and agreed, nodding his head, ‘’hopefully, it does, a dreadful habit you know?” He held up his own arm that looked as it had before he’d lost it. “You know I still find this strange? Having it again? Well, having any of my limbs really.”
He trailed off into silence for a moment and considered his daughter. Brave, strong, and kind. He once knew someone else like that. Who’d gone on to do so many great things and would have done more if he hadn’t gotten in her way or his own. He’d done such awful things on orders and some even without.
Alderaan and so many other places were gone. So many peoples lives and blood had stained his hands until the very end. Somehow saving his son was just enough to earn the forces forgiveness. How Anakin would never be certain but he was beyond grateful. It meant he could see his children.
“She has all the time in the Galaxy, I wouldn’t force my presence on her. Not ever again. Even if that never means forgiveness or anything from her.” He turned towards the window and considered the darkening sky outside once more. “I visit her sometimes you know? Never enough to be seen but just enough to feel at peace that she's okay, happy. She looks so much like Padme sometimes...” Even now that name tore through his soul like the molten lava of Mustafar.
