What if the player from Block Tales was replaced by Guest from The Last Guest?
Hello everyone! The one writing this whole pinned post is me, Dandelion, but this blog is ran by me and my best friend Westley!
We've been playing through Block Tales together using our Guest and Matt avatars, and ended up formulating an AU together where Guest and Matt get transported to Block Tales instead of Player. We like this AU so much that we decided to make a Tumblr blog together where we can yap about it with all of you!
Feel free to ask us anything about Lost Soldiers! See below the cut for more information on Wes and I and about our blog!
hi again, it's still dandelion :3 i use any pronouns and i'll be an adult at the end of june. i really REALLY like tlg and i've had so much fun playing block tales with wes! we're currently finishing up chapter 5 and i'd appreciate if you didn't send me spoilers :,) (wes doesn't care as much tho lol). i was the one who came up with the idea of making this blog. i also am the one who's been cosplaying as matt, and most of his lore in this au is from me :)) i'll do most of the infodumping and yapping, but i do draw on occasion. my main is @dandelion-jpeg ^^
Heya! I’m Wes or Westley, I use He/Him pronouns and am 18 YEARS OLD <- I’m a huge guest fan and have been having a lot more fun than expected playing Blocktales with Dandelion. I cosplay Guest and basically was the tipping point for the whole AU lol. I will be doing most of the art, but I’ll definitely be yapping myself.. evil laughter.. feel free to ask me anything as long as it isn’t personal or inappropriate!
PFP ART WAS MADE BY ME
General Information
This AU focuses mostly on Guest and Matt, with Guest being the protagonist and Matt coming in later as the deuteragonist.
Guest gets transported to pre-prologue Block Tales (BT) right around when he blows himself and the Bacon General up. Guest goes to the VIP convention to try and see if he can talk to Builderman to help send him home. The same events happen where Guest is sent back in time, and is put through the same quests for the SFoTH swords.
Matt lands into BT by crashing through all the Roblox HQ floors and landing in the basement right at Shedletsky's feet (unharmed, somehow) right after Guest leaves to fetch the Ghostwalker (aka Chapter 3). From that point on, they travel together.
All lore is based on a mix of TLG and TLG:R and follows the Demo 5 storyline.
Tagging System
#lost soldiers au -> Posts/art having to do with the AU.
#ls off topic -> Posts/art not having to do with the AU.
#ls bt tlg stuff -> Blocktales or The Last Guest stuff that doesn't have to do with the AU, or is vaguely related.
idk if anyones asked you this yet, but do the sfoth swords and shed/telamon have any connection? i know that in blocktales canon they seem to have no relationship aside from telamon guarding the ghostwalker, but considering how shedletsky is the creator of the original sfoth + most people have them connected... just wondering :)) i personally think that, until proven otherwise, shed and builder worked on creating the swords (based off that tidbit fake builderman gives us in the dreamworld) and telamon was the original ruler of all of trinity + guarded the sfoth swords before deciding to do something else with his life (aka the manor). or maybe some event happened that made it too dangerous for telamon to be the sole guardian, so thats when the guardians were decided and telamon chose to guard the ghostwalker as it's the most unwieldy sword. idk if i make any sense

(Idk if this is about sfoth guardians au but i assume it is so)
Yes, Shedletsky (+ Builderman ig) is the sfoth swords creator in the au! The deities are accidental, but he makes it work
The sword guardians are chosen specifically by the two to hold the sfoth since it would be impossible for them to be able to guard each one of them, especially with their roles as admins. So when the sword guardians die, the sword automatically returns to Shedletsky again if they don't choose a successor or don't have one.
Shedletsky isn't parental to the deities perse. He still adores them, but he see them more as the extension of the swords and not separate beings entirely nor sentient. Illumina is his clear favorite out of the seven tho and that's why he chose to guard it himself
(+ Ghostwalker. But I like to think Telamon only did it out of obligation after the previous one dies or something)
Also, the first ruler of Trinity in canon was Xargas (if I remember correctly), but I do like to think Shedletsky/Telamon goes to the heights to blow off some steam so often that the people there started to see him as a legend lol
But if you're talking about Block Tales on itself, i still think Shedletsky is the creator of the swords :p
not yet, but jez (at the least) is 100% planned to be added somewhere. wes and i are still deciding if the bacon general & colonel get involved in our au, and if they do or don't will change how jez is involved/impacts the story. but i love my boy too much regardless to leave him out. zara will (hopefully) be involved too, but it's probably going to be in a more minor way, like our plans for charlotte and daisy. kinda haunting the narrative/character more than actually being in it? if that makes sense... similar/same for rose (haven't even started to think about what to do with her, sorry rose fans...)
but all in all, the main characters are guest, matt, and molly (protagonist, deuteragonist, and tritagonist respectively). jez and everyone else may have varying levels of importance, but they won't be the main focus. sorry :,)
Hi, does anyone find it interesting that wishing for the mysterious figure to never exist to Flocci is considered a bad deed when you talk to Ms Tori/reflect? No? Just me? Okay....
when i was prepping for my evil run and i saw that on the list i was so confused. especially since flocci doesn't seem to give a different response compared to the rest of the wishes (minus the bottle, for obvious reasons). like flocci doesnt even need to be negative about it or anything, considering noobador doesn't seem to mind when you dont forgive him despite it counting as a bad deed. i bet this little bit will come back later in the story and you can hold me to this
i wonder if i can use this to support my "mysfig is future player theory"-
charlotte and accountant jim are friends because why not. also charlie gets transported around whenever the big final boss fight happens. she's also 18 or 19 (or somewhere around there), meaning guest missed her whole childhood
also in our au finn mccool is head over heels for molly and she doesn't reciprocate but does play along at first to kinda get back a little at him for attacking the trio then stops when she sees how matt gets kinda jealous
anyway made in japan buck owens is finn singing about his big fat crush on molly 👍
GODDAMNIT MY ALARMS DIDNT GO OFF EXCEPT FOR ONE IM GONNA BE LATE TO WORK FUCK FUCK FUCK
uh uh uh random morning au fact for everyone (chapter 4 spoilers):
matt can hear captain trotter (& everyone else) in the firebrand when he wields it. he dislikes wielding it as a result so guest carries the sword at first before matt decides to face his issues (which is a lot of things, the sword being only half of it). also matt has more of an affinity to the firebrand and does more damage with it 👍 again ill explain why later i promise
also in our au finn mccool is head over heels for molly and she doesn't reciprocate but does play along at first to kinda get back a little at him for attacking the trio then stops when she sees how matt gets kinda jealous

(idk if you've seen anything from the last guest, sorry in advance if not! this blog my friend and i run is an au where player is guest + matt and molly are here too)
The arched double doors separating the throne room from the rest of the kingdom creak open. Matt appears behind the frosted wood, traveling light with the Brigand's sword sheathed at his waist. The man closes the doors gently behind him before waving towards Cruel King.
"Hey there big guy! Just dropping by to say hi."
"hello there adventurer...I don't think I've seen you before"
Cruel king looks at matt, specifically paying attention to what he was wearing
(I have watched the last guest, my favorite character is actually Jez)
"Riight, my bad. Heard so much about you from some friends that it totally slipped my mind that we haven't met yet!"
Matt looks a bit sheepish.
"Can I try this again? I'm trying this again."
The man leaves the room. A few moments go by before he re-enters, comically clearing his throat and bowing. It's obvious he's trying to be polite, but he has no idea how to act around royalty.
(Can I bomb your blog with questions pls this is so creative (the blog not the bombing😭))
1-Guest, if you could like, get out of here, but Matt can't go with you, would you still do it?
2-Matt and Guest, if you both could send a letter to Daisy, Charlotte and Molly, what would you individually write to them?
(PLEASE DO WE LOVE QUESTIONS!!! you can also ask molly questions too! we don't have as much fleshed out for her, since we plan for her to show up after chapter 5, but she's still available ^^ -dan)
1:
"Huh… I don’t even know how to respond to that— I love my family dearly but Matt is as important to me as Daisy and Charlotte are..”
2:
"I guess.. I would let them know that both of us were okay, tell them I love them, let them know I’m thinking about them.. I would say a lot more but we would be here for hours!”
"I don't know if I wanna share something personal like that to strangers, sorry man. But I miss all of them a lot, hope they're doin' alright without us... God I hope they're okay..."
Hey Guest uuuuuu what do I ask
Do you miss your wife Daisy perchance + what would be the first thing you would do with Matt if you both managed to return home
(I love your au twin it's so peak dawgggg)
—
“Oh my… asking if I miss Daisy is like asking if fish can survive without water.. if the tides can move without the moon above them. I miss her and Charlotte more than I could ever imagine. My rocks, my oxygen, my reason to keep moving forward. Don’t get me wrong, i’m more than happy— ecstatic really— that Matt is here by my side, that I met so many amazing people so far, to be away from the war. But every time I think about them, it’s like a splash of cold water to the face. I really hope the two are okay..”
“If we get home, I’d probably stay home with my family— Maybe even get Matt and Molly to stay with us for a bit. I don’t think I could let them out of my sights for a long while.”
(i guess we doin' roleplays now /silly) "Not fun at all, man. I went in there on a mission, didn't see the trick of the place until it was too late. Really fucks you up. 'M happy Guest and I were able to get over it, but still took awhile. Molly got better a lot faster than us though... amazing woman."
“If I genuinely had the choice to blow up again or experience the ghost walker for a second time, I’d gladly blow myself up. It was a miracle that Matt, very stupidly, followed me in.. but I guess beggars can’t be choosers, huh? But still, I’m forever grateful.. Molly however had to experience all of that by herself, it took her hours.. I don’t think I could ever respect that woman more than I do now.”
Basic overview about how me and dandelion worked out the swords:
Ice Dagger: The Ice Dagger slowly takes the life force of the wielder, turning their body into ice. It’s a very slow process, one could die of old age before the ice dagger could. Guest, being the primary holder of the ice dagger, notices ice growing slightly under his eye.
Venom Shank: The Venom Shank is effected by how many plants are in its vicinity, it doesn’t completely lose its powers if there isn’t plants, but it will be weaker. More plants the better.
Ghost Walker: The Ghost Walker is powered by the holders emotions and how well they can control them. (It goes to Molly since the boys can’t get their shit together /j)
Firebrand: The Firebrand is powered by WILLING sacrifices to the ancients, specifically one’s raging anger. Although Captain Trotter held so much anger when he was sacrificed to the ancients, because he was not someone willing his anger will slowly burn out.
Wind Force: The Wind Force is supposed to be wielded solely by Royalty, otherwise it isn’t as effective. This is how we explain why the Wind Force is so deadly when Cassie wields it and sucks when the player does.
These can change in the future depending on where the story takes us!
how guest matt molly (aka the trio) got transported:
guest got summoned by azuri. in this au, kleos confided in her about his visions of the future (the future if player isn't there), so she makes an attempt to summon a hero. not anyone in particular, just someone the universe deems "heroic" or able to save robloxia. once her spell is over and nobody has appeared before her, she assumes her spell didn't work. maybe she wasn't powerful enough, or maybe there is nobody. it immediately ruins her hopes in there being a savior. little does she know, her spell DID work, she just fucked it up and guest ended up in the future. thankfully, by chance or some otherworldly source, he's sent back to the proper timeperiod by the time machine.
this recent universe hop has made the veil between block tales and tlg thinner, which gave The Ancients the ability to summon matt (though it took time) (i'll explain why matt was summoned by them later)
after these two were forcibly transported, it opened a small rift between their worlds. this allows molly to fall through accidentally and rip it a little bigger, then charlotte, then daisy, then everyone else (the order after molly isn't confirmed btw)
ok so for context reasons for future posts, wes and i are gonna explain how we believe guests work in tlg and in bt. i came up with tlg guests and wes did bt :3
ok so, my interpretation of guests is that the different "varients" (blue haired, pink haired, bald, yadda yadda) are all the same "rarity". in bt though very few people have ever seen guests with hair, let alone blue or pink, to the point people don't know they exist. back to tlg tho: guests are born able to make sound (like needing to cry to get their parent's attention), but lose the ability as they age, since their vocal cords don't grow with them or atrophy or something idk. some guests luck out and maintain their ability to vocalize and even speak, but it's on a spectrum. few guests, like Guest 1337, maintain full ability with few issues. all guests who can speak though have sensitive vocal cords and can lose their voice a lot faster. this was all inspired by the real life phenomenon that is lactose tolerance—when humans are born, they can digest and break down lactose as that's their main nutrient source (mom's milk), but lose that enzyme as they grow up. maintaining the ability to digest lactose is actually a mutation and not supposed to happen! anyway back to guests. i think they've developed their own language based almost exclusively on body and sign language. some small vocalizations are present, but mostly just to add/emphasize tone and isn't necessary to get your point across. all in all, guests are very much individuals with their own personalities and cultures.
i like to think guest can speak, his mom is semi verbal, and his dad is almost completely non verbal; he CAN speak but it instantly fucks up his vocal cords and he loses his voice.

Hey Wes here!
I personally imagine the Guests in BT are kinda like robots, very mass produced and practically identical. I know canonically the guests were recruited but we twist canon here it’s okay. The Guests in Blocktales are very 2 dimensional, never given the ability to speak but have kinda created their own language like the Guests in TLG, although definitely different in a lot of ways (gotta keep that feeling of loneliness in guest hehe). Also to Guest himself, the Guests in BT seem very uncanny, their proportions seem a bit off, their smile too long, too wide.. their eyes just a bit off center, too empty.. no one really notices but guest does..
At this point he doesn’t even believe that they are real people or just figments of his desperation to not be the last of his people.
matt crash lands into hq very shortly after guest departs for telamon's manor. he has no idea where he is or how he got here, but he does recognize shedletsky—though, he's a lot more banged up than he last recalls...
he sits down with the man and it becomes very clear very quickly that matt... isn't supposed to be here. both inside Roblox HQ but also in that world, period. it's very disconcerting, and he's not really given a chance to process it before shedletsky continues rambling. he mentions how, surprisingly enough, he's not the first alien to arrive at HQ. of course matt's curiosity is piqued, so he presses for more information on this stranger. shedletsky shares he's a guest—an extremely rare blue-haired one at that—who showed up in military gear. he calls himself Guest 1337. and matt? matt freezes.
guest? is this man pulling his leg?? he must be. guest is dead. he died killing the general. he died trying to save his family. he died trying to save him. matt let him die. shedletsky has to be making a cruel, cruel joke. but... he's not. despite his ever-present air of carelessness, matt can tell he isn't lying. and matt's blood runs cold at the shockwave of hope and desperation that fills his heart.
he wants to immediately set out to find his friend, see if it's really true, but he calms his excitement and underlying anxiety in order to continue squeezing information out of the admin. shedletsky decides that, if matt is really guest's childhood friend like he claims, he can be in on the mission for the sfoth swords. he'll probably be sending matt with guest anyway as backup.
shedletsky explains the situation with builderman, the mysterious figure, the sfoth swords, and that guest is currently heading to scarytown and telamon's manor to fetch the infamously unwieldy ghostwalker. and if that sword is as dangerous as the admin makes it out to be, then matt is terrified for his best friend and honestly pissed at shedletsky for sending him to get it alone.
immediately, matt starts leaving HQ to head to the traintracks and chase after guest. shed stops him, saying the train's already departed, and he should have a little faith in his friend and wait for him to come back. matt's not having this, so shedletsky relents and pulls some strings to get matt a car or something for him to drive to scarytown. he also hands him some tix and tells him to stock up around town, and explains a few basic game concepts to him (like cards and different weapons. also hands him a spare iron sword he had laying around.
basically what follows is matt kind of playing cat and mouse with guest, trailing after him and trying desperately to catch up. he fights the same undead on the way (those that have recovered from being beaten by guest). he runs into tutorial terry and jerry along the way, and he asks them about guest. they turn around, finally realizing he's not behind them, and all three run back to the room holding the ghostwalker. guest is passed out cold on the floor, hand having an iron grip on the hilt. matt is feeling a whirlwind of emotions right now: ecstatic guest is alive, dread at him not being awake/looking dead at first, exasperated annoyance that guest went and tried to wield the ghostwalker anyway despite the warnings, etc etc. it's! a lot at once!
terry is (rightfully) pissed by guest's idiocy, as well as secretly worried, and he and jerry rush out to try and find someone, anyone to help. matt was going to follow, but he thinks back to what shedletsky told him about how the ghostwalker works, and takes a deep breath before steeling himself and wrapping his hand next to guests around the hilt.
the last thing he sees is guest's unconscious face twisted in pain as his vision goes black.
