“But is writing fan fiction and smut really writing?” He asked as he poured her another cup of coffee. “Writing is writing.” She smiled as she took a sip. “If you think about it in the right light, all writing is fan fiction.” “I suppose if you look at it at just the right angle, it COULD be considered that way.” He gently turned the bacon over. “But smut writing?” “Oh honey,” she laughed. “ALL writing is a form of smut writing for the writer!”
“’Reach for the stars’ they said. ‘You’ll go far’ they said, so I did and that’s how I ended up working in a bar out on the ass end of the universe trying to fend of the hands, tentacles, paws and thoughts of every raunchy alien who’s ever wanted to tumble a human, while trying to earn enough credit to get back home.” A quick decisive head shake. “Nope, I’ll not be telling you to follow your dreams. But I will wish you better luck than I’ve had.”
He turned away, then spun back again. “I will give you one piece of advise that was given to me when I started out though.” He paused to take a drink from one of the glasses on his tray. “No matter what happens, no matter what you are going through, you are experiencing life like no one else. Your adventures may not be universe quaking, but bad or good experiences are worth their weight in credit.” He finished the drink placed it back on the tray and worked his way back to the bar.
When she was born with bat wings and a devils tail, her dad left and her mom turned to drugs. She remembers her mom trying to love her a failing. Mutants were common, heroes and villains filled the channels with their activities, but for some reason her mom could never accept her. Perhaps it had to do with the little gold cross her mom wore around her neck. It was a good thing she had extremely good healing abilities from birth as her mom, in a drug induced rage tried to drown her and then tried to poison her. The older she got the more drugs her mom used. Finally broke and homeless a man approached her mother with an offer. Sign her daughter over to his “research” facility and he would supply her with enough money and drugs to set her up for the rest of her life. She never had a name that she could remember, but she became Test Subject #32-A4. She learned that meant she was the 32nd subject acquired by the facility and the A meant she was a mutant and that they got her when she was 4 years old.
It started out as another normal boring day..... but I noticed no matter where I went the same song was playing. Over and over and over again. Get into the car and BAM! it’s on the radio. Go into a store and it is playing in the background. At the bank, someone had that song set up as a ringtone. EVERYWHERE I WENT!!! I was being stalked by pop music...what was the universe trying to tell me. But wait, it got better, Automatic doors stopped working for me. No seriously, I would have to follow someone into a store or lurk around outside until someone else went in or out. Things were really starting to get a bit freaky. One day would have been funny.... but this went on and on for two weeks. I think I’m in a horror movie!
“If your could be bitten by anything and acquire super powers based on that creature what would you choose and why?” “Wow” she said laying back and staring up at the stars. “I think... maybe... hmmm, give me a moment.” She rolled over onto her stomach and looked out over the water glowing with the light of the moon. “A Dragonfly.” She finally said tilting her head to look up at his shadowed face. “Because I once read they were the ultimate predator with a ninety percent success rate. I think a super hero should have a high rate of success don’t you?”
Spitting out feathers and a few bones, he turned and scowled at her. “Next time we take the bus... or walk” he growled before spitting out another feather. “Your teleportation skills leave a lot to be desired.”
Giggling like maniacs they took off across the yard at a run. Hand in hand, not caring that the rain was pouring down, not bothered by the mud squishing through their toes or splashing on their bare legs. The tree house beckoned them; they had adventures to begin.

“You are finally back!” She exclaimed, swinging her staff at another attacker. “Do you know how hard it is to stay in one spot when you are being attacked?” She used her staff to slam into the head of one of the attackers. He would be out of the fight for a while. “Do you wanna help me or are you just gonna stand there and stare?”
She juggled her clean clothes and bathing supplies as she rounded the bushes headed for the water to bathe. She was looking forward to submerging her travel weary body in the cool water. According to the warriors they were now in their own lands and could spend a couple of days resting and hunting before heading back to the keep. They assured her that it would be safe to bathe if she wanted, and she didn’t waste any time digging her things out of her pack. She came to a sudden stop when she saw him in the water.
Her mouth dried out and her eyes widened to take in everything. The sun reflecting off the water and his skin gave him an almost ethereal glow, as if he were just a reflection of her fantasies. A whimper escaped her as he turned giving her a view of his chest and abs. Her stomach clenched and she felt heat flood over her body. Wetness pooled between her legs and she felt her knees go weak. Her breasts tightened until they were almost painful and she was having trouble breathing…. She was going to pass out like some heroine in a story.
She somehow managed to pull her eyes up and to her mortification, he was smiling at her with a knowing look in his eyes. He knew she wanted him; she would never be able to deny it again. The sound of her things hitting the ground broke the spell and she blinked… He was walking towards her… the water getting lower on his body…
She made a strangled sound in her throat then turned and fled back toward camp, leaving her things lying on the ground. She knew his image would be burned into her mind and soul forever. She would never be able to look at a body of water again without seeing his image wearing nothing but a smug smile and water droplets tracing paths down his muscular torso.
