Kibum didn’t know what he was doing here. There was an inexplicable pull in Xander’s direction and he just rolled with it. Questions—questions were too much right now. Wounds were fresh on both sides and he could feel his own heart quivering. Was it anticipation for the unknown or fear for what he’d learned from experience? Regardless, something had his feet moving, his hand opening his car door, and fingers trembling the entire time. He’d handmade candy. Nothing special really, but the fact that he’d thought to make anything at all surprised him. There was a little note tucked into the ornate box he’d put the candy in that read:
An ode to new beginnings, I suppose.
