Here's Manya, the Russian necromancer, the new "iconic" character that will be showing up in promotional art and every so often in the books. (portrait by Yannick Bouchard) I'd been looking for another wizard character for awhile, because it was ridiculous how much I was overusing Riina/Étaín in the art. But I wanted something different for this one... every other character has been, fitting for women in the 17th century setting I like to use, clothed neck to toe. Seriously, most of them even have collars! I wanted this one to be sexier, to have a little bit of that Frazetta/Vallejo "why isn't she wearing any clothes?" fantasy thing going on, and to be able to be put into scenes and stand out like Caroline Munro would in her movies. Luckily I found Julia to model for the character and she was all for the idea. Her first full piece will debut on the cover of LotFP's catalog for Spiel in October. The little moon nipple shields are only there because it makes no sense to have a character to use in promotional artwork that you can't actually post or display where promotion is done. :P
