how to finally stop binging on dopamine - josh czuba
I highly, highly recommend this video to everyone. Literally, everyone.
This guy, Josh, talks about how to stop binging on dopamine. Not in a 'Here's 10 life hacks for you so you can break out of the short-term satisfaction cycle!!!' way, but in such a way that he explains the underlying mechanisms and feelings of guilt and shame. He makes some great points and emphasizes that the habits you are trying to build towards a better life such as no more social media or working out more should not be rooted in self-criticism and punishment ('Oh... I failed, I must try harder! I must do more!') but in self-love. Furthermore he encourages us to not strive for perfection but for a little healthy chaos and to look beyond the black and white good vs. bad habits. I love this approach because it actually inspires me instead of it criticizing me for not doing enough, because lets be real, the latter is what most of today's social media content is focused on.
So let this be the video that inspires and guides you today, maybe tomorrow, maybe for a longer time. <3
Hello! I have neglected this page. A lot has happened since I was last was online; I took a gap year, converted a van to a campervan, traveled through Germany, Switzerland and Italy, kissed, laughed, learned to drive, and most of all learned to love myself again. (Not necessarily in that order hehe).
Now I’m back at uni, and I’d like to start this page again, too. I’d like it to be a fun little personal (study) diary. When I look at my old posts, most of them were these stylized study photos, which were not at all indicative of me or my progress. There’s a lack of authenticity. I have decided I’m not going out of my way to create ‘perfect’ study areas, I’m not going out of my way to publish anything that has to be perfect.
The difference is, compared to last time, that I’m writing and publishing this for and to myself. And if anyone is interested, that’s great! We can be imperfect together! <3

Utrecht dressed in fall colors may just be my favorite. I've been living here for eight months now and it feels like home already <3

I’m having a really busy day. It’s 7pm and I’m finally able to get some studying done! I want to prepare for my lecture tomorrow, start a programming assignment that’s due on Saturday and do some revision :) For my fellow night owls (or people in a different time zone lol), good luck with your work <3
I love creating a cozy fall study space with incense, candles and warm tea :)
My midterms are coming up, so looong study session today! In my break I’m planning to take a walk through the forest and bring my camera. Hope you all have a productive and great day today, take care <3
I recently moved, so I’m trying to make my room a little cozy. Also, my classes start on Wednesday and I want to have a nice study space. I’d say it’s coming along nicely :)
because it’s getting dark earlier and i have to travel two hours to uni and then two hours back home, i’ve been traveling in the dark a lot. there’s some pretty scenery though. :)
fall season is starting which means cosy study sessions and pretty walks during breaks <3
