He knew it would have been wiser to play dumb, to pretend he had no idea who Viola was or pretend that he had no deeper connection to Cord, but Izzy wasn't an idiot. Reckless and chaotic, yes, but not stupid. "I am well aware of the trouble Rebecca has gotten herself into as well as Viola's awful taste in dating Azazel. I also know that the warding on the bar is holding. I am, however, a little fuzzier on why you are coming to me with this."

"That's the question, ain't it? I guess I'm wonderin' if ya've got any tricks up your sleeves or any plans on intervenin'. Somethin's gonna give sooner or later an' I'd rather not see Cord an' their kids caught in the crossfire." Cord was the only person Simone had had other than Izzy for a long time. He knew they were important to her. "'cause the only solution I've got is just givin' Azazel what he wants an' I don't think anyone wants that, an' at this point, I'm not even sure that'd get Cord outta the deepend."

"No, you're hardly my type." And not just because he wasn't all that into men, all things considered. Thomas sighed at that and finally turned to face the trickster. He knew things were heating up, but he was interested in what information the other hand. "What did you hear?"

There was a quip on the tip of his tongue, something about being everyone's type. But he was in a rare mood for serious conversation, not entirely up for joking. The type of mood that tended to end in destruction, but he was trying to channel it a little differently. At least for now. "Prob'ly the same shit ya've been hearin', too. Maybe with some extra details. Cord's gotten on the shit list of an archdemon. Fuckin' Azazel. Which ain't great, but it was enough to get even Viola comin' outta the woodwork, which ain't a good sign." It was making Simone nervous, even if she wasn't saying as much.

"It's not exactly easy without DNA or a close personal item." He knew how difficult either was to come by when it came to his own, but he supposed he could be tracked through any close living descendent.

"I don't think we share the same interests, Isaiah. I've never been one for that level of chaos. Which begs the question of what brings you here of all places?"

"Chaos ain't the only thing I enjoy, but somehow I don' think you'd be interested in hookin' up either." And that was about the gist of Izzy's hobbies and interests. "Trouble's brewin', an' it ain't the kind I like." Under different circumstances, maybe. With different players, this sort of thing might be interesting to watch, might be more interested to interfere with. But it was currently hitting a little too close to home for his liking.

"I don't suppose this is a social call?" he asked, not bothering to turn to face the other. Thomas was all too aware of the trouble his daughter had landed herself in over the years and it was only a matter of time before someone tried to approach him about it.

"Especially if you've gone through the effort of tracking me down?"

"Trackin' magic ain't that hard." It hadn't been a specialty of Izzy's, but then Jasper had died and maybe, just maybe, if Izzy had been able to find him, that wouldn't have happened. He hadn't dwelled on it. No point. But he'd decided it was worth learning, at least.

"An' it could be a social call, if you're inta the kinda socializin' I am, but it ain't the only thing brinin' me by."

"Oughta be worryin' 'bout yourself just as much. And no, I never met Luna, but I helped with her gettin' her paperwork in order for Todd to adopt her." Viola. He should have known that his wayward daughter would have been in contact with Simone. "Dammit all to hell, that girl needs to stay the hell outta this shit. I already got her damn kids at my bar."

She let the subject of Luna and Callie drop, if only because she knew she had one hell of a bomb to drop on Cord and it was going to take all their focus. "She was in it before you were, Cord. She's datin' the asshole. Started datin' him long before it all blew up an' now she doesn't know how ta leave him. That's why she sent the kids your way."

"Yeah, I'm absolutely not going to be any real help on that but my mom or dad might know someone that could get you answers. They've got an interesting network of connections."

"I think I would'a jumped at that when I was younger, but it doesn't feel so important these day. I couldn't really control the magic that well, but I've learned a lot now."

"And just how often does Izzy go 'round doin' wards to keep out archdemons, Simone? The less ya know about what I got mixed up in, the better. The safer. This ain't like the last time I went poking a hornet's nest in hell. This is more like a pokin' at a nest of vipers if the vipers could hold grudges." Given the affinity for poison, it wasn't an entirely bad comparison either, but he wasn't sure he wanted to get into all of that either.

"I'm tryin' ta stay outta it, if more for the kids than for my sake. Callie's gettin' married, y'know. Dunno if ya've met Luna, but she's one'a Avalon's bunch, so I wouldn't be surprised if she's hung 'round the bar before. I don't gotta worry so much about Jasper these days, but y'know how Benji is." He was a little too likely to try befriending the demon if they were to cross paths. "But it ain't like I can stay totally neutral in this kinda thing, Cord. ...Viola's the one who told me what was happenin'."

"Alright, who went and told ya what's goin' on at the bar? Cuz I know I was very intentionally leavin' ya outta it to keep you from bein' a target."

"I'm a big girl, Cord, an' I can protect myself. After... after we almost lost Jasper, Izzy helped ward the house six ways ta Sunday. Your bar's about the only other place I'd be safer an' Avalon's lot's lookin' out for the kids. We can weather any storms an' you'd damn well better remember that next time you're in trouble 'cause I don't like it when you're keepin' things from me."

"I can make an educated guess about you. Shifter and..." he paused, sniffing the air slightly. "Fae of some sort?"

"Yes! We never really figured out anythin' more specific on the fae side'a things, so your guess is as good as mine. I've at least gotten real good at controllin' the fae magic an' that's a pretty big win."
