“5 Beer Plan” – Joyce Manor
It’s a pleasure cruise
When you’re born to lose
Recently went on a much needed holiday to Adelaide with Holly to visit my best friend and go to a gig I never thought I could attend. Cherie fucking Currie! Cherie and The Runaways have inspired me more than any band in the world. Everything I bring to the stage and music in Triumph Over Logic is inspired by them. Words just cannot explain my love for The Runaways. I was lucky enough to meet Cherie with my best friend and girlfriend, aswell as being front and centre for the show. As I met her, I hugged her and gave her my band's debut album. I explained how she has inspired me, my lifestyle with my band, how people treat us etc... She looked me in the eyes and said "don't give a fuck what anyone thinks, only you know what's good for you." After that she signed my arm which I now have tattooed. During the show she would pass me the mic as I screamed the lyrics with such joy and excitement. I couldn't believe I was singing with Cherie fucking Currie. I now have a constant buzz whenever I'm playing with my band, rehearsing and writing music. I had never felt so alive as I did that night.
Until we meet again...
Facing fears, drinking beers and making dreams come true.

Coolest thing happened a couple of weeks ago. We worked with an actor from our favourite tv show - Butch Patrick (Eddie Munster) from The Munsters! Too cool.
Adventures with eradicatedelicacy
Adelaide has been the fucking best, yet again. Met one of my heroes, Laura Jane Grace from Against Me! I was left speechless. Especially when she took my phone to take photos of us. She's a hero for reasons that are different to others so actually being with her and talking to her about it was so amazing. Against Me played a killer set of course but so did Joyce Manor. Always a blast hanging with these dudes. Barry handed me the mic to sing constant headache which ruled. Then we talked about good beer, Alkaline Trio and shared lame jokes for a while. Not to mention I'm here on tour and both our shows ruled. So special and fun. I'll miss this city and the great friends I've made.
