If only that were true. She deserved what she'd had before the accident. She had her family, her people - she had everything. And in the span of a year, she'd managed to lose everyone she cared about bar her brother. Now she was practically his mother because there was nobody else. No long distance families, no out of touch grandparents - they were alone. All alone.
"I expected the world not to kill off the people I cared about."
It comes out a little too blunt for her liking and she inhales softly, rubbing the side of her face.
"I'm sorry. It's just a... tender subject."
