The high council is pleased to announce that the wedding of Viktor Kuznetsov and Raven Stone will take place on Sunday, August 12. Kuznetsov, 125, is from St Petersburg. Stone, 24, is of the Stone Coven in New York City. This is the first marriage for both Kuznetsov and Stone. The couple has decided to marry at City Hall at 6 pm. Limousines will escort guests from the hotel to the ceremony. Afterwards, there will be a reception at the Witch’s Brew.

The high council is pleased to announce that they have discovered the perpetrators of the supernatural murders that have plagued the city of New Orleans the past nine months. The crimes are now believed to have been committed by the Palmer coven, a local group of witches known to practice the darkest forms of black magic. Its suspected that the murders were part of a ritual sacrifice designed to strengthen the coven’s power. The council assures all the supernaturals of the city that the witches responsible have been dealt with in what they deem an appropriate fashion, and there is nothing more to fear in the city of New Orleans.

The murders that have been carried out over the past nine months have been solved by the high council. They’ve tracked down the witch coven responsible. All members known to take part in the ritual sacrifices have either been killed or turned into another species (thus stripping them of their magic). Now that we’ve been open for over nine months, we’ve decided to introduce tasks to Love and War as a means of helping members with their muse. Please note that these tasks are optional. You don’t have to do them. And if you do them, you don’t have to do them for all of your muses. Each task will last a month.
For our first task, we are asking everyone to write a self-para describing a defining moment in the life of their muse(s). Examples might include losing someone they cared about during the war, going away to university, or triggering their werewolf gene. Feel free to make this as short or as long as you desire. However, we ask that you put it under a read more if it gets pretty long.
For this task, please use the tags lovewar:task and task:1 to help us keep things organized. This task will end on Friday, August 31. But if you don’t complete it before the deadline you are welcome to go back and do it at any time! That’s just the last day before the next task goes up. After all the werewolves aboard the Steamboat NATCHEZ had been questioned about the murder, the boat dropped its passengers off. The council has advised everyone to remain calm, but to also be cautious. They are urging anybody who might have any information about the crime to come forward and share what they know with the council. They stress that at this time they are investigating all possible leads.

The body of a high council member was discovered in the women’s bathroom halfway through the jazz cruise on the Steamboat Natchez. According to the earliest reports, the body appears to have been mauled by a werewolf. The council has informed everyone aboard the boat of the death, and urges them to remain calm. At this time, a suspect is being held for questioning.

The party was in full swing, but Phoebe needed to duck away to freshen up and cool down. Fortunately, she had her misting spray in her bag so she could spray it on the back of her neck, but the smell needed a minute to go away. Eucalyptus and menthol tended to get a little strong. She knocked on the bathroom door before jiggling on the doorknob. Unlocked, but something obstructed the door.
After giving it a shove, the door opened and a bloody body was slumped over on the sink. Immediately, the stench of death and blood hit Phoebe’s senses all at once. She took a step back in shock and her heel slipped in something wet, sending her keeling backwards and landing hard on the ground.
Blood. She was now covered in someone else’s blood. Panic took over and all she could do was scream.

ROLLING ON THE RIVER

To celebrate Independence Day, all the supernaturals are invited to a party in Cherry Blossom Park this July 4th. There will be barbecue and other summer foods (as much as you can eat), carnival games, live music, and (once the sun goes down) fireworks. All supernaturals should keep in mind that non-supernaturals from around the city will be attending the event as well, so be on your best behavior to maintain a low profile!

This weekend is the annual Pride festival in New Orleans. All members of the LGBT+ community and their allies are invited to take part. There will be a variety of events, including a parade. Its one of the biggest events of the year and is not to be missed. For more information, click here.
OOC Details: This weekend we will be having a mini-event to celebrate the New Orleans Pride festival. As it is a mini-event, its optional and regular threads may continue during that time. The event starts after activity check on Thursday (there will be an announcement on the main and in the discord chat) and will continue up through the activity check on Monday (again, there will be an announcement).
Just as suddenly as the supernaturals from the alternate universes appeared, they disappeared again. Left behind were the individuals from this world who had been body-swapped into alternate realities. They are now left to pick up the pieces of whatever their alter-egos have done while they were gone. Some say the strange event was caused by witches. Others blame the weather. And some have pointed their fingers at the high council, who have officially declined to comment on the situation.

The body-swap event is now over. All muses have been returned back to their original bodies. How they cope with what happened is up to their players. Please do not start any more threads taking place during the event (but you may work on wrapping up threads you already have going). You may resume any threads taking place before the event, if you so desire.
No one is quite sure how or why it happened. But, overnight, several of the supernaturals in New Orleans have undergone radical personality changes. It is almost as if they are different people altogether. While others are still their normal selves, they are rocked by the changes in those around them. How long until someone gets to the root of what is going on?

This event (our special one for our six month anniversary) sees many of the usual characters body-swapped with versions of themselves from alternate universes. For a full list of who has been swapped and who hasn’t, look here (but keep in mind this is OOC knowledge until the characters have revealed it).
For the body-swapped: If you chose to bodyswap a muse, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, while your character will have the personality of their alternate universe version, they will have the abilities of whatever their species is in this world. So if your muse is coming from a world where they are a werewolf and find themselves in the body of a vampire (meaning, your muse here is normally a vampire) then they will have to learn to cope with that. Second, they will likely not realize what is going on at first. The realities are close enough alike that the worlds look essentially the same. When and how they realize what is happening is up to you as their mun.
For those who have not been body-swapped: If you did not message us before the deadline/created a muse after the deadline passed, we automatically made them an unswapped muse. These muses will be played as their normal selves. However, they too will not realize what is happening right away. When and how they catch on is up to you as their mun.
Threads: If one or both muses are body-swapped (check the sheet with all the muses on it) please suspend any threads currently in progress, since you are now playing them with a different backstory. If neither muse in the thread has been body-swapped, feel free to continue the thread as normal. For all event threads (meaning any thread started after this post is made and before the event is over) please remember to use the tag lovewar:event (especially in your starters).
Intros: If your muse has been body-swapped, feel free to write a new intro. Please tag these intros as lovewar:au instead of using our usual intro tag.
Time: The event runs until after activity check on Sunday, April 29th. We will announce when it ends. We know this is a very long event, but we wanted to make sure you had time to enjoy your altered muses and make sure as many people as possible could take part on this anniversary event.
For our next event, you’ll be allowed to create alternate versions of your muses. Please know that this is entirely optional, so if you don’t want to take part, you don’t have to. You may play your muses exactly as they usually are. However, if you do wish to take part, please read our guidelines.
You may create alternate versions of up to half your muses. So if you have nine muses, you may create an alternate version of five of them. If you have two muses, you may create an alternate version of one. If you have only one muse, it's up to you whether to play them as they are usually played or create an alternate version.
You may not change your muse’s appearance. It doesn’t fit with the plot we are going with. They must be played by the same FC.
You may change your muse’s personality. We strongly encourage it, as it will be a driving force behind the plot. In fact, the more extreme a change the more fun it will.
You may change your muse’s history. For example, if your muse was orphaned during the war, their alternate version may come from a happy and living family.
You may change your muse’s species. For example, a triggered werewolf may be untriggered or a bitten werewolf may be human. The possibilities here are almost endless. The more creative, the better.
Building on the above, if your muse became a vampire a long time ago (more than a human lifetime) they will have to remain a vampire. Sorry if you find this limiting, but there is a reason for it that makes sense with our plot. However, any recently turned vampires could easily be another species.
A document will be made of which characters are being played as alternate versions and which are themselves. Please message us with a list of your muses (and whether they are being altered or not) no later than Wednesday, April 18. The document will be made available for everyone to view once the event starts, to prevent confusion.
Any muses brought to the game during the event should be played as their normal selves, not as an alternate version.
If you wish to make intros for your alternate characters, you may (we encourage it). However, do not post them until after the event begins (it’ll ruin the surprise). We will give you a special tag to use for them, which will be revealed when the event details are formally announced.
