Thanks to verizon for my first panelist opportunity! Had a blast being on the other side of the mic.
How I Win, Every Time.
I meet a lot of people that want to do more with their life and want to win but don't know how, honest truth? I didn't either. But when I committed to being a better person, a lot of my questions on life were answered almost effortlessly (which I call divine because I know that's all God & the universe is just that dope.)
If you feel can't do anything else to move forward in your life, the most impactful thing you can do is work on being an exceptional person.
Wait.. back to the root of the word exceptional so there's no confusion:
ex·cep·tion·alˌikˈsepSH(ə)n(ə)l/ adjective
unusual; not typical."crimes of exceptional callousness and cruelty"synonyms:unusual, uncommon, abnormal, atypical, extraordinary, out of the ordinary, rare, unprecedented, unexpected, surprising; More unusually good; outstanding."a pepper offering exceptional flavor and juiciness"synonyms:outstanding, extraordinary, remarkable, special, excellent, phenomenal, prodigious; More
Being exceptional is the exact opposite of being average. That means just because someone else does something doesn't mean you can too. It means if all your current friends aren't on the path to greatness you have to make that painstaking decision to gracefully distance yourself with anyone who isn't inline with who you want to evolve into.
Another thing you have to do is be thankful for everything, the good and the bad. The good is great! and the bad is merely a lesson or an experience that will grow you and move you forward IF you stay grounded in appreciation for the experience rather than throwing a pity party for yourself.
And lastly you have to COMMIT to only directing your focus / energy towards the things you love, not the things your fear or hate. So spend more time with people who make you smile and laugh, love and laughter help manifest your deepest desires. Don't do anything out of spite or any other negative place. Do all things with passion and love, even cutting negative people off is a loving act because neither one of you needs that negativity hovering over you. Start with not commenting on or judging anything you "don't like", just mentally acknowledge that you don't like it and that's okay.
I really do feel like the best thing anyone can do for themselves or the world is be a better person, and do their best with integrity & consideration. That's why I win, everytime. <3
my personal understanding of retrograde..
Thank You...
I just wanted to extend a simple thank you to everyone who's been genuinely supportive of my personal and joint endeavours.
Since Eunice and I started planning the #LevelUpBrunch series, its been keeping us rather busy and I don't think either of us had moment to even appreciate it for ourselves due to the work load. I look back now and I'm overjoyed at how big Level+Up has gotten on just its second running after spawning from a simple girls day out and a few shared ideals.
Level+Up is close to my heart because it is an exact manifestation of all the things I thought I wasn't "equipped" or ready" to do in the past so seeing it in motion is incredible so to every person who came or wanted to be there... thank you!
Make sure you head over to www.lvlupunversity.com and subscribe so you can stay up on the awesome public and priavte events to come.
sincerly,
am.

2015 Resolutions..
I feel weird calling them "2015 Resolutions" because these are things I'm already doing, but would like to improve on. Regardless I hope you find something that resonates with you and by all means, share your thoughts + add to the list.. Happy New Year folks! - am.
Step away from everything that isn't in line with your happiness as well as your worth: We were meant to be happy, we were meant to thrive. Yes, sometimes we have to do things things that make us uncomfortable but never were we required to do anything that makes us miserable or strips us of our joy.. never! Never were we meant to entertain someone or take on a situation that makes us feel like less of a person. If you feel like you have no control over these things, its because you have not yet discovered your worth. If you have to question whether you know your worth, you don't. When you find it, you will feel God-like and you will be quick and overjoyed to cut off the people and things that don't compliment the joyful God in you.
Honor your body: So last year I switched from white to wheat, regular milk to an almond coconut blend (soy milk when i'm broke). I also stopped eating meat every day and my diet for the most part is mainly fruit, veggies, lots of herbs, grains, hella fresh brewed tea and WATER.. no pork, beef sparingly, white meat chicken only, and I'm addicted to seafood so that's my weakness BUT if you want to feel super-human and unlock your inner God/Goddess, the best thing you can do is eat to live, eat what nature provides as close to its normal state as possible (thank me later).
Get it over with: Energy is very real & it is imperative to pay attention to what is draining your light. I used to put off my least favorable task for last but now I make it a priority to tackle it first. Do you ever notice how drained you feel sitting around worrying about paying a bill vs just paying it & getting it over with? Those dishes that you need to wash, that person you need to apologize to, that mile that you need to run.. just do it. When you voluntarily get shit done you feel relieved and very champion-like so start doing the worst thing first & be free.
Always do it for yourself: Most of 2014 I made the mistake of letting other people be my motivation.. I wanted to stunt on my ex, I wanted to prove people wrong, I wanted to impress my new boo. I wasn't just doing it cause I really loved myself or was in any particular rush to do better, it was always someone else. When you let other people be the reason, what happens when they're gone? The motivation is no longer there. You have to excite yourself and not care who's watching. You do that through constantly seeking inspirations and setting goals to be the person you internally see yourself as.
Depend on yourself: No one owes you SHIT. No one's gonna help you, no one's gonna love you and no one's guaranteed to save you when you're slipping. If you wait for other people you will waste valuable time and regret it. I've made the most progress when I said eff everyone, I'm gonna do all that I can for myself. And through my lack of expectations every now and then God would bless me with some help along the way. But first and foremost, YOU are in absolute control of your life and everything, including your happiness is your own decision.
Don't waste time overthinking: OMG.. I wasted so much time overthinking last year when I could have come to a point of clarity much sooner had I really sought it. Example: the first few months of dating this guy, I could have just asked him everything I was thinking, but I was afraid of being annoying so I just assumed whatever, which is dumb. Figure out what matters to you, why it matters and then express yourself to people..
..and if its not a person ( ie. a situation) ask yourself this (I swear it works every time): "What exactly am I feeling" "Why do I feel this way" "What about the situation bothers me" "what's the worst that could happen" (and be okay with the worst happening if It needs to, that's where you'll find peace & understand that everything happens for your good) and "what can I do to be at peace with this situation." #TealTaughtMe
Don't judge: 2013 Ashley was probably really arrogant and not always approachable and I'm so thankful for the people who are still here with me today, who helped me grown and didn't judge. Everyone is learning and growing and the world as a whole is slowly (but surely) beginning to see the bigger picture. So as people make their way at their own pace, don't be so judgemental, be understanding and know that there's potential in everyone. Also, be the example, don't get mad, just keep showing people how it's really done & maybe you'll be the catalyst for change in their life.
