What's y'all's point in sending death threats to someone, especially someone who didn't do anything wrong, in the name of defending someone who's also getting death threats? If yall could explain that too me, that'd be great.

I think a lot of people have misunderstood what I've been trying to say. I am not saying people shouldn't defend Azzi, and I am definitely not denying the racism, harassment, dehumanization, and hate she faces. Those issues are real, serious, and deserve to be called out every single time. What I've been questioning is why these conversations so often turn into comparisons. If the treatment Azzi receives is wrong, then it's wrong. Why does it need to be measured against someone else's experience to be taken more seriously? My issue has never been with people defending Azzi; it's with the idea that defending her requires establishing that she has it worse than Paige. To me, that shifts the focus away from the actual problem and turns the conversation into a question of whose suffering deserves more attention. I've also noticed that people often respond to me as if I'm denying what Azzi goes through, when I've repeatedly acknowledged those issues. Saying we don't need a comparison is not the same thing as saying the problem doesn't exist. In fact, I think the racism and dehumanization Azzi faces are serious enough that they should stand on their own merits without needing to be ranked against anyone else's experience.
What concerns me most is that this kind of language creates exactly the division that trolls and toxic fans want. The moment the conversation becomes "Azzi has it worse than Paige" or "Paige has it worse than Azzi," people stop talking about the actual behavior and start arguing about the comparison itself. That's why I post about both of them together, because a lot of the fan behavior surrounding them is interconnected and often affects both of them, even if it affects them in different ways. Mentioning both isn't an attempt to diminish what Azzi experiences; it's an acknowledgment of how intertwined much of the discourse has become. What I don't understand is why defending one player requires downplaying the other. If you're defending Azzi, defend Azzi. The reasons to do so are already compelling. If you're defending Paige, defend Paige. Neither argument should depend on minimizing someone else's experiences. A strong argument should be able to stand on its own. I think we can call out racism, harassment, dehumanization, and toxic fan behavior wherever it exists without turning it into a competition. At the end of the day, I don't think comparing suffering helps either of them. I think it distracts from the actual issue and gives trolls exactly the kind of division they're looking for.
Downplaying hate, someone gets to hype someone else up, some bullshit.
Get it girl!

You all are weird about both of them. It’s, “paige does nothing wrong and Azzi needs to go,” or “Azzi should’ve never gone first because Paige is horrible.” Like you’re so close but yet so far. You can admit that Paige needs to look for Azzi, but then can’t admit that it’s not solely her fault. You can admit that the wings look better this year yet can’t admit that Azzi is part of the reasoning for that. Downplaying talent ON BOTH ENDS because you like one more isn’t okay. Let’s normalize likening both of them and if not, being able to recognize the real talent they both have. They can do it, why can’t you?
We're coming off another terrible season, and people are allowed to be happy that we're winning. As someone who's been a fan of Dallas long before Paige or Azzi were here... I'm very happy we're winning. Of course, there are things to improve on(arike), but some of y'all gotta chill i mean were 6-3 so far. Do y'all know what it was like to watch them last year, let alone the many years before that? WINGS UP
We would've never won this game last year, regardless of how ass Seattle is, and they are ass. Not saying it was the best game in the world but all the stars who show out did what they needed to do.
If I was new to basketball and I’d never seen a wings game before, by the way some of yall are talking id be thinking the most insane and incorrect things about this team. One, Paige is a ball hog who’s really not that good and takes crazy shots, never passes to Azzi and that costs them games. Jess is the best player on the team and is the best chemistry with Azzi. Azzi is the sole reason that they win games, if she’s not playing good then the rest of Dallas isn’t playing good, and when she’s not playing good it’s dallas’s fault. Like yall gotta chill out. Paige, Jess, and Azzi are all killing it…c’mon man.
She’s been here for years, she’s not going anywhere. I accepted it years ago..yall don’t even know the half of it.
Don’t like the narrative we’re building rn.
Paige…let’s take smarter shots pls. Shes like the opposite of Arike cause idk how tf she be making them.
If Arike does something “good” this game pls don’t hype ts up.
Arike…been here for 7 years now I’ve watched u do this time and time again. No more please 🙏
First day of pride month, cut that shit out pls.
Btw the people I was speaking about were Paige, Awak, and Azzi. With all 3 of them shooting over 40% from 3 and the field wings up bro
Sorry I just deleted my comment bc I realised it sounded too much like the other person in the comment section and I didn’t want that 😭 mine was just a quip about how good drafting an efficient guard (and bringing back awak) was for our spacing/scoring as well 😭😭
Ur all good
Guess which 3 people made this happen 🪽💙💚 we’re so up
