Recently I was honored by La Plaza De Cultura Artes when asked to loan one of my images of The Great Dolores Huerta for an exhibition on her life's work.

I was proud to share an image with them that had NEVER been seen by the general public. This is one of my favorite images of Dolores because it is an extreme close up and focus on the sheer kindness in her eyes.

I'm extremely proud and grateful for the relationship I have with the Huerta/Chavez family. The opportunity to shoot such intimate photographs of Dolores Huerta has been one of the greatest pleasures of my career.

Congrats Grecia Xóchitl García ~ Miss Latina Global 2013

I recently had the great pleasure of Photographing  Grecia Xóchitl García, she was (at the time) representing Mexico in the Miss Latina Global Pageant. Congrats to her for her victory in being crowned MISS LATINA GLOBAL 2013.

I first met her in New Orleans in April 2013 through her Manager and mutual friend Charles K. Sedghi. She is a lovely and beautiful woman who loves to dance and is full of enthusiasm. Her light truly shines bright, and she is a true professional in front of the camera.

A Love for Classic-ness...Vintage Girls a Photo Series

For those of you who know me personally, you know that I have an extraordinary love for all things classic. For those of you who don't know me personally, hopefully you will get a sense of who I am through my most recent Personal Photo Series "vintage Girls"

A little about my inspiration...

A few years later, I started to clean out my son's closet...which is actually my closet since he refuses to make use of a hanger (drives me insane). I realized how many awesome Yard Sale Vintage dresses I had accumulated over the years. I also realized that I had NEVER made use of any of them. They just sat in the closet and aged like fine wine.

So I say to myself...."self, why did you buy these dresses if you are not going to wear them"?  Then the infamous light bulb went off....A photo series was born.

I want to say thank you to all of the willing participants in this project. Thank you for letting me dress you up and be gracious enough to allow my to photograph you! 

For me this is my form of play, I have been playing "photo shoot" since I was 7 years young...it's what I fantasized about as a child, I have loved every minute of it.

Let your Feet do the talking….

There are so many ways to express yourself on your wedding day. As a Photographer it is crucial that I am able to come up with creative ways of portraying my subjects love towards one another.

So I say….use your body! That’s right, go ahead and work that body of yours! Your body language can be just as strong as the words that come out of your mouth. There are so many things you can say with just a slight change in your body language.

During the Portraits segment of my clients wedding shoot, I give a little art direction. Starting off with basic poses, weather they are Candid or Semi formal I will ask my clients to give me slight variations of each pose. It only gets more fun as we continue and soon becomes a true and Natural moment.

This is just one of the numerous ways to personalize and put a signature on your very special wedding photo’s. I encourage all of my clients to celebrate their fun side, come on, don’t be shy WORK THAT BODY!!

Anticipating Moments…

In my 12 years of Wedding Photography experience, I have come to believe that the MOST important aspect of my work is anticipating great moments to come. In order to truly capture the essence of your special day, we must pay FULL attention to every move you make. Every kiss, smile, and gesture is special and offers an intiment detail that when pieced together tell the true story of your special day.

Over the years I have learned to know when to expect beautiful, real moments. One of the things I love about Wedding Photography and weddings in general is how extremely emotionally intense they can be.

This creates tons of opportunity to capitalize on these powerful and emotion filled moments.

Here’s a funny story… I had a beautiful couple surprise everybody after their kiss at the alter. The groom actually pulled out a point and shoot camera from his pocket and snapped a picture of him and his new bride while walking out of the church…this was an incredible candid moment!

Had I missed it I would have literally cried.

Photo Booth !

          Last week we headed over to Yamashiro over in the Hollywood Hills. This restaurant was such a glorious location overlooking Hollywood Blvd. As the day faded, the cities lights were aglow with romance with our happy couple and their friends. Drinks went a-flowing and our photo booth was there to capture some fun .... we even capture a shot of our lovely photographer Angela :)
