THE LAST OF MRS CHEYNEY, 1929 (full movie)
Basil Rathbone's first talking picture. I want to be Faye Cheyney!
Bonhams, a privately owned British auction house of fine art and antiques, auctioned off one of Basil’s costumes from The Hound of The Baskervilles film.
Check out the Lot number.
Thank you to the lovely people at The Baz for bringing this up!
Well played, Bonhams. Well played.
Pre-Code Rathbone

Louis Hayward was bisexual not gay. He had 3 wives and was very much in love with both Ida and June. (I don't believe he really loved Peggy. I think he was just hurt from the ending of his marriage with Ida that he rushed into that relationship) I get you want to set the record straight but at least use the correct term. Bisexual.
Hey “anon”. I think I know who you are and you are all over the net saying Louis Hayward was straight and calling Noel Coward a liar for claiming he was Louis’ lover, which is an unbelievably homophobic and insulting thing to do. Now you are telling me Louis was “bisexual”? Ok - so then take back your claim that he was straight and stop calling Noel a liar. I don’t know if Louis was bisexual or totally gay, but he sure wasn’t straight so quit the homophobic ranting and quit making up stuff about Noel being a liar.
this can't be said enough. Calling Noel Coward a liar because he claims a man was his lover is just homophobic
