Epilogue
-Ten Years Later-
The lulling sound of the waves lapping on the shore is one of your favorite things to listen to. The sand squishes between your toes with each step as you walk the beach with the people you love most in this world. Yunho and Mingi walk on either side of you, holding your hands so securely and so lovingly, like their hands are meant to hold yours. You hardly remember the days when you feared touching them, but now you don’t think about it. It’s like second nature to you, holding them, kissing them, making love with them- You can never imagine a life without them.
Two little girls run past you giggling with all their might. Their laughs are the most beautiful thing you’ve ever heard as they race each other. You have never seen them apart, not even when they were born did they even tolerate being away from each other. You remember Yunho and Mingi being so paranoid and unsure of themselves when they were born. It was as if they thought that the girls were the most fragile things in the world and had to protect them from anything and everything. It warmed your heart seeing them be so careful being new dads.
“Wait!” A little whiney voice cries behind you, and you look over your shoulder seeing your son try and catch up to his sisters. His little legs can hardly walk through the sand, but he’s determined. Not even when he was very little did he allow help, and you know he must have gotten his stubborn attitude from his fathers.Â
He cries out and Yunho lets go of your hand to scoop him up into his arms, “Now no crying, use your words.” You watch as his little bottom lip quivers and juts out, and you melt. Yunho notices it and gives you a knowing smile, “You’re going to spoil him rotten my love.”
You give him a look and reach out, indicating that you want to hold him. Your son practically jumps into your arms and wraps his arms around your neck. You rub his back, “Don’t worry, you’ll grow big and strong. One day you’ll even fly.”Â
Mingi lets go of your hand and places it on your lower back while Yunho leans in and places a gentle kiss on your lips. You watch him run off towards your girls and they squeal in delight as he pretends to chase them. He picks one up and wraps an arm around her stomach so she can pretend to fly.Â
“Look at me! Look at me!” She giggles.
Mingi leans down and kisses your temple, “I love you.”
You lean into him, “I love you too.”
“I still can’t believe that we have this life. That we have a family.” He rests his head on top of yours, “Sometimes I think I don’t deserve it-” You tap his chest in protest and he just laughs, “We did good.”
You hum in agreement, “Yes we did.”

Chapter 12
Within the bone island, you spend the day exploring their bodies again and again and again. When the sun hangs high in the sky and starts to fall, you bathe in the hot pools with them. They lather your skin with the soap berries with a reverence that makes your heart soar, their hot hands following each curve of your body. They pepper kisses on your shoulders as they wash your hair, kissing the love bites that they created. Not a minute goes by without them telling you how beautiful you are and how much they love you.
Mingi thrusts languidly into you from behind as you hold his hips under the water. He kisses the length of your neck all while Yunho watches from the side of the pool with a lustful smirk. You lose your footing but before you fall, Mingi loops an arm around your front and pulls you flush against him. He lightly bites your shoulder and continues, thrusting at a speed that makes you squirm.
Yunho pushes off of the wall and wades towards you. He reaches out and drags his thumb down your lips, pulling your bottom lip downward and that smirk deepens. A moan escapes your lips as his hand travels between your legs, circling your clit expertly and you buck. He swallows your moans as he kisses you, all while Mingi bites your neck. Your high-pitched moans echo against the cave walls, and you're sure that anyone could hear them from the shore. You're glad that no one else lives on this island.
You could spend an eternity with them and it still wouldn't be enough.
Back in your room, you get dressed in an embroidered dark red dress that hugs your waist. You drape a black shawl over your shoulders as you select clothing for Mingi and Yunho to wear in the village. They can't walk about in the regular loin cloths and blend in, so they'll have to wear what you can find. You select two shirts and pants, but you have no idea where you could find shoes. They eye the clothing as you pack them into a bag, hanging the strap across your shoulders as you indicate that you are ready to go. They nod and walk with you down to the main cavern.
The sky is painted with streaks of pink, orange, and purple as the waves below crest gently. Yunho transforms first and looks back at Mingi and yourself, waiting for you to follow. You squeeze Mingi's hand before letting go and he walks to the edge and transforms. You grip onto the strap on your bag, taking a deep breath and climb onto Mingi's white back.
The sun sets completely before you make it to your old village, but you lead them a small distance away to not draw attention. When you land in the snow, they quickly transform back into men and pull on the clothes you brought. You adjust them and make sure that they look right, "Are you afraid?"
"No my love." Yunho cups your cheek as you fix the top button on his shirt.
"We'll be fine." Mingi says from behind you but you still can't help the anxious feeling inside of you.
You walk the rest of the way. Each step towards the village fills you with more worry and your mind races. What if someone sees you all? No one will recognize Yunho or Mingi and would be found as suspicious. Surely the sight of you again, after being carried off will be shocking as well. You just hope that everyone will be settled into their homes by now and not anywhere near the main hall and fire.
The first sight of it makes your heart race and Mingi and Yunho stop in their tracks. They marvel at the houses lit from within, the sounds of people traveling on the cold wind. Seeing it this way, and not from the ritual-driven dragon must be different and you turn to watch their faces. There's a wonderment in their eyes and your worry ebbs just a little bit.
They follow you into town as you carefully take alleyways and dark roads towards your old house. The sound of drums and people singing get their attention and they slow their pace. You get annoyed by this, but their curious faces makes up your mind. "Come, I'll show you." You wave them on.
You take them to a house just across the main hall and climb up all the way to the roof, laying flat on your stomach so that no one will be able to spot you. Mingi lays to your right while Yunho is on your left and they are entranced by what they see. Members of the village dance around the large fire, spinning in couples to the soft flute and drums. They dance in unison, dancing the cultural steps that you learned when you were a little girl. You don't even notice that you've started to hum along to the flute until Yunho taps your side, "What is this?"
"It's the song played to celebrate the coming of spring. The dance is supposed to help the sun heat up the earth and melt the snow, at least that's what my mother told me when I was young." A part of you aches to join them, but that part of your life is long gone. They watch carefully, as if memorizing what they're seeing and you wish you could see it through their eyes.
You stay there till the celebrations die down to only a few stragglers. Both men watched each dance and song with such a deep fascination and you paid more attention to them than your old village below. When the last person near the fire finally leaves, you hop off of the roof and lead them to your house.
It's just as you left it when you enter. Mingi and Yunho look around, picking up random items and inspecting them while you glance at the chest you started to pack all of your things in days ago. Mingi is quick to light the fire, and you get closer to warm up for just a little while. You hum to yourself and grab more things from around your cabin, grabbing utensils, bowls, plates, and grabbing more clothing. You don't plan on ever returning here, so you much take everything you can that'll fit in the chest.
"This is where you lived?" Mingi brushes his fingers over the covers on your bed.
"Where I was born, where I grew up- This place has been my home for a large part of my life."
A flash of uncertainty crosses his face, "And is it still?"
You huff, "No Mingi, it hasn't been my home for a long time. The island is my home now, you don't need to keep worrying." You don't understand why he continues to be distressed over the fact if you are going to stay, you can only guess it's because of his past. "There are too many ghosts here..."
The front door opens and your heart drops to your stomach. Both men are to your side in an instant, standing in front of you to guard you. The old woman from before stops in her tracks when she sees you, and her eyes widen when she sees that you are accompanied by two strangers. "Oh!" She stumbles slightly but catches herself on the doorway, "You're back!"
"Not for long, no." You tap on each of their shoulders, indicating that it's okay. They let you pass, but they keep their guard up intensely.
The old woman closes the door behind her as you take a seat on one of your chairs and point to the other one for her. She sits down and stares at you, "You confound me dear. I've seen you be taken by the dragon twice, yet you return each time."
"I only came back for my things. I won't be returning after this, I assure you that."
She eyes you for only a moment, but doesn't say anything to argue with what you said. There is nothing she could possibly say to convince you to stay or come back. "And you brought strangers." She looks over to Yunho and Mingi who have stepped even closer to you.
You don't answer that, instead you redirect the conversation, "Why are you here?"
"I must confess that I started to come here to think. When you willingly offered yourself up for the second time, I felt like I failed you." Her voice trembles slightly, "It is good to see that you are alive."
Mingi laughs under his breath at the thought, "She was never in any danger."
You give him a look and he only shrugs. It's true that you risked death to return to them, but you were willing to take that risk. As much as Yunho or Mingi wished to never harm you, the dragon wanted to finish that ritual.
"And you are?" The old woman eyes him warily, noticing that he is not wearing any shoes or socks.
"Mingi."
"Hmm. You seem to care for Y/N, yes?" She sits up straighter as both Yunho and Mingi nod. "Very well." You don't like that she thinks that she has a say into your relationship with them, but you appreciate the care that she holds for you. You don't hold that intense anger you did for her or the other villagers, but you still don't wish to live amongst them or visit. The truth is, if you were never selected for that ritual, you would have never met the loves of your life.
You grind your teeth for a long moment and say, "After I leave, you are free to do with whatever you wish with my house." You scoot closer to her and get more serious, "You don't need to perform the ritual any more, it is finished."
Her brows knit together as her confusion grows, "I'm not understanding you Y/N, we have to continue the ritual you know that. You know why." All of the stories you grew up hearing come to your mind. Times when the dragon tormented your village, burning it to the ground and killing people night after night. Each time you heard it told, some part of the story was different- Some thought the ritual was started because a brave soul offered herself up for the village, beginning the long line of sacrifices over hundreds of years all leading to you. Others thought it was because the dragon finally gave up, taking one helpless woman with it to its lair across the sea. Now, you suspect that the woman in all of the stories most-likely met with the dragon in his human form and made a deal with him.
"The dragon is finally satisfied and won't retaliate. He won't be back." You can feel both men's eyes on you.
"How do you know?"
"I have spent a long time with him, I know."
She exhales heavily, "I don't know Y/N, it's hard to believe what you are telling me."
Mingi steps forward to say something but you shake your head, telling him to not expose himself to her. "I guess you just have to take my word for it."
There's a lull in the conversation as she thinks, and you stand up, returning to pack more things in the chest. When you stuff the last dress you can fit in it, she finally speaks up, "As much as I want to take your word for it, I don't want to risk the village if it's not the case."
"That's fine." You shrug.
She gets up and approaches you, "If this is really the last time I will see you, I just want you to know that you are an amazing person Y/N. You're very resilient, and one of the most caring people I have ever met." She doesn't even ask you before she pulls you into bone-crushing hug. "I will miss you."
You pat her back, "Thank you."
She backs up and nods solemnly, "I wish you well in your ventures." She glances to Mingi and Yunho and a knowing smile flashes across her face, "Take care of her."
"We will." Yunho steps forward and places a hand on your lower back.
She smiles in your direction and your mind goes to the conversation you had with her before you left. She knows that you love them both. "Farewell my dear Y/N." She leaves without another word and you relax as Yunho goes to look out the front window.
"You know that they're just going to continue the ritual?" Mingi observes the things you packed with a curious eye, "I don't want to be forced into doing it again."
You think for a long moment, and you come to the conclusion that they have to expose themselves to the village. A sharp sense of worry attacks your chest at the thought of the village retaliating and attacking the men you love, and you don't want to do it. They must sense your turmoil because they stop what they're doing and come to your side. "My love, are you ready to leave?" Yunho asks while he returns his hand to your lower back.
"I think so."
He studies your face, "Don't worry, you are safe."
"It's not my safety that I worry about, it's both of yours." You exhale heavily, "They'll try to kill you."
He only smiles at that, "My love, I'm a dragon. I'm very hard to kill."
"Everything will be okay." Mingi kisses your cheek.
It takes another half hour checking that you have everything you need and stuffing it into the already full chest. When you go to leave your house though, you can't do it. Both men watch you, and after a moment they put down the chest with little to no effort even though it must weigh a ton. It feels odd leaving your old home permanently. It's a final goodbye, and it's hard to take that first step. So, to procrastinate you say, "I want to also bring some food, and maybe a few chickens too."
"How would we carry that?" Mingi leans up against the wall with his arms folded across his chest. "We have food at home darling."
"I know, but-" You gnaw on the inside of your cheek.
They glance at each other and head for the door, leaving the chest behind. You trail after them and jog to the front so you can lead them to the store house. Now that it's deep into the night, the streets are barren and quiet, with only the sounds of the occasional mouse or cat lurking about. You still sneak through the shadows just in case, but the chances that someone will be out at this hour is slim to none.
As soon as they see the inside of the building and smell the dried foods, they perk up. They approach the large baskets of grain and jerky, sniffing the air while picking up random pieces and sticking them in their mouths. You watch for only a moment but then stuff food into your bag that's still hung around your shoulders. You don't take too much, but just enough that you're satisfied.
Rounding the back of the building towards the barn, both men follow you out while chewing on elk jerky. You don't particularly know how you're going to transport living creatures with you, but you'll figure it out.
You manage to catch three chickens in the span of ten minutes. As soon as Yunho and Mingi stepped foot in the pen, they freaked out as if sensing that there is more to the men than what is seen. It was hard catching the flighty creatures, but you managed to do so. With nowhere else to put them, you decide to put them in one of the sacks used to collect grain and head back to your cabin.
When you make it back inside, you are finally ready to let go. You walk around the small room slowly, replaying memories of your childhood with a sad smile painted on your face. Both men watch from the door and you're grateful that they are letting you say goodbye for as long as you need. When you finish your slow loop, you let out a long breath and wipe your eyes, "I'm ready."
They nod and bend, picking up either side of the chest while you carry the chickens in the sack. You walk all the way to the waters edge, not caring anymore to hide away from villagers. On the shore, they drop the chest and you approach, tying the sack to one of the handles. The icy waves smell like salt while the breeze gently blows your dress to the side.
Behind you, you can see the sun starting to rise and you know that its time to go. Both men walk farther away and transform, their light blinding as they return to their dragon forms. Mingi stretches his neck and shakes before he meanders his way towards the chest and grabs it with his claws, careful to not crush it under his weight.
You walk over to Yunho and start to climb onto his back, but a shriek stops you in your tracks. "Dragon! Dragon!" A man sprints from the closest watch tower and towards the bell, "Dragon!"
In the matter of seconds, the village comes to life, and your heart starts to beat out of your chest. You clamber up onto his back as warriors exit their houses with their swords and spears. You scream, "Go!"
Mingi lifts off first and the gust of air pushes the warriors back for only a moment. You see the old woman scurrying down the road to you as Yunho pushes off, roaring to the growing crowd of men to stay away.
"Shoot it down!" A man orders and you urge Yunho to go faster. You grip onto his horns as one man winds up to throw his spear towards Yunho, but the old woman latches onto his arm. She shakes her head and you breathe a sigh of relief as he raises higher into the air. She turns her attention to you, and you share one last look of gratitude and understanding as you fly away.
The farther you fly away from your old village, it feels like a weight is being lifted from you. Now that you are safe, you try to regulate your breathing and help your racing heart calm down. The only thing that helps is feeling Yunho beneath you and watching Mingi fly ahead. They look so peaceful even though you all had just escaped from an attack. You bend and cup Yunho's large cheek, "You're okay." You say it more for yourself than a question, and it helps you feel better.
He makes a noise beneath you, and before you know it you're falling to the sea. You don't have time to panic because Yunho grabs onto you and kisses you. When he leans back, he gives you the most handsome smile you've ever seen and transforms again. You grip onto his horns as he flies over Mingi and changes, causing you to land feet first on his white back. Mingi makes a noise of surprise, but Yunho grabs onto your hand and pulls you over the side while you let out a scream. He pulls you close, "I love you Y/N."
You don't get to answer him because he changes back into the dragon, swooping underneath you and picking you up gracefully. You can't help but let out a laugh as the sun rises higher into the sky, the colorful clouds kissing your skin. Lifting your arms, you tilt your head back and smile. The wind rushes beneath your arms, but you don't feel fear at all, you trust Yunho and Mingi completely.
The clouds open up, revealing the bone island- your home and a warmth grows in your chest that spreads to the rest of you. This is where you'll build a life with them, this is where you belong. You thank fate for bringing you to this island, for bringing you to Mingi and Yunho. Pure happiness fills your veins, and you can't wait to spend the rest of your life with them.

Chapter 4
It is dark when you reach your ship. As soon as the door opens, R5 is right there chirping his annoyances at how long you were gone. Hongjoong enters your ship like it belongs to him and you huff a breath as you follow him in. “I don’t appreciate being forced to compromise my identity.” You press the switch, allowing the door to close with a hiss.
“Well how do you expect people to trust that you are actually a jedi? That Anchorite wasn’t going to tell us anything, you know that.” He plops down on your couch and scooches back, spreading his knees to get more comfortable. “Besides, I know what I’m doing.”
Your temper flares, but you take a breath and shift your weight to one side, “You act as if I haven’t been in hiding for nine years. I know what I’m doing. I know how to keep myself safe.”
He only raises his eyebrows, “I know that. It’s just you have to learn to trust if you’re ever going to find the Path, let alone actually live your life.” He crosses his arms over his chest, “How many times are we going to have this conversation?”
A pointed glare is all you give him as you make your way past the small kitchen and into the back room filled with two beds tucked into the wall on either side of the room. Hongjoong doesn’t follow you back there as you throw your robe onto the chair next to your workbench and pull off your boots. You can hear Hongjoong fiddling with something and you hope that he’s not snooping through your things, but you know that he probably is.Â
When you return to where Hongjoong is, you find him flipping through some of your books and you sigh. “We’ll head off in the morning, so get comfortable. You seem to have already made yourself at home…” You glance at the couch, “The couch is yours, don’t come in the back.” With that, you leave, not giving him a second glance.
After hours, you find that you can’t sleep at all. In fact, you find that you can’t stay in bed for more than a few minutes at a time while your mind spirals. The distrust keeps building and building, then you remind yourself that Hongjoong signed a contract. You can’t trust a bounty hunter, but the fact that he signed a contract with steep consequences helps ease the anxiety just a little bit. You don’t particularly like that he’s sleeping in your ship, but you know that this endeavor wasn’t going to end in just one day. Â
You hear nothing from Hongjoong on the other side of your door and you wonder if he’s already asleep. If he is, how can he be so sure that you won’t do anything to him? Sighing deeply, you lay back down on your bed and close your eyes, feeling the Force all around you. It’s comforting and familiar, like a whisper of your past that will always be there with you no matter what happens to you.Â
........
“Padawan, you try too hard. Stop overthinking it and trust in the Force.” Your Master states, her dark brows furrowed as she lightly scolds you. “I will not ask again.”
“Sorry Master.” Your little hands grip your lightsaber tighter as the visor slides over your face once more. Darkness envelopes you as you let your senses be overtaken by the Force. In a flurry of moves, you block bolts with your saber, only allowing the Force to take up your mind. You guess that’s why you have to wear this bulky helmet, to get rid of your thoughts and outward distractions that hinder your progress.
She claps, “Good.” As the visor lifts, you see that she has stepped closer to you with her hands behind her back. Her pale skin is a contrast to the brown wall behind her, but your eyes always travel to the markings on her face. She has her ebony hair pulled into a tight bun on the back of her head that looks almost uncomfortable, but it never seems to bother her. “You let your mind wander too much, even to your detriment. You must learn to quiet your mind even when in times of great trouble my young Padawan.”
“I don’t know how to do that.”
Her smile is warm, “You’ll learn. It will take practice.” She takes the helmet off of you as you turn off your lightsaber, “Now, let's go get something to eat, shall we?”
........
The smell of food is the first thing you notice as soon as you wake. Rubbing your eyes, you grumble as you sit up and stretch your limbs. You don’t know how much sleep you got last night and you suspect that it wasn’t enough.Â
Hongjoong flips an egg in one of your pans, humming to himself as he sways back and forth. He looks almost… domestic and it deeply confuses you. You’re used to seeing him in work mode, just Hongjoong the bounty hunter and seeing him do something so normal is very jolting. “Are you just going to continue to stare, or are you going to help?” His voice startles you and you clear your throat.
“I wasn’t staring.”
He smirks and glances at you, “Whatever you say.”
You blink and make your way to the cockpit as he continues cooking. It’s odd having another person in your space after so long of being alone and you don’t particularly know how to function. You’ve adapted to being alone, it’s safer now that you are hunted. In the beginning, it felt like the universe was punishing you for surviving, like you were meant to perish with all the other jedi and you were now haunted by them all. After all the years, those voices you’d hear in your dreams or when it would get too quiet calmed down just enough so you don’t hear their screams as they were cut down, but you still see them. You don’t think you’ll ever escape the ghosts of your past, but you also don’t want to let them go either. They’re all you have left.
“You don’t have a lot of food in here.” Hongjoong says as you look out the window, seeing the sun has already risen over the horizon. You can tell that it’s hot outside and you dread going back out. “You should really fix that, you know.”
“I have all that I need.” Turning back around, you see that he’s put some eggs onto a plate and placed it near the edge of the counter for you. You’re still suspicious of him, but he already knows this. He doesn’t acknowledge the wary look you give him, instead he plucks a small piece off your plate and plops it into his mouth. You watch him curiously for a moment and exhale, “Thank you, for making breakfast.”
He shrugs, “No need to thank me, if you weren’t awake soon I was just going to eat it anyways.”
You frown and cock your head to the side, “So nice of you.” The sarcasm drips from your voice like honey.
The smile he gives you is just as sickly sweet as he takes a bite from his plate. After a moment of staring at him, you sigh and finally take a bite and discover that it is delicious. He watches you with a different smile this time, like he’s proud that you found his cooking good and it annoys you to no end.Â
When you’re done, you drop your plate in the sink and head back to your sleeping quarters to get ready for the day. He doesn’t spare you a glance as you leave while he continues eating from his plate at a slow pace.Â
You choose to wear lighter clothes today, both in color and material. Tucking your shirt into your pants, you grab your belt with your lightsaber and throw on your robe. Taking a look into the mirror by the door, you almost look like a jedi and it pulls at your chest. You’ve avoided wearing clothes that are reminiscent of the jedi to hide and distance yourself from the Order, but today feels different. Today, you’re stepping back into that world.
As soon as you step back out, he’s already waiting for you in the cockpit. He sits in the other chair with his feet up on the controls and you huff an agitated breath. “You’re going to want to stop doing that.” You plop down in the pilot's chair and start the engines.
“And why’s that?” His tone is playful.
You shoot him a glare, “You keep making yourself at home when this arrangement will end sooner than later. Stop making yourself comfortable and start working.”
“Bossy.” He takes his feet off and crosses his arms over his chest, “You don’t need to worry about if I’m doing my part of the deal. I’m not a freeloader.”
You don’t answer him as you lift off and turn the ship in the direction of the Narkis Desert. The flight is completely silent besides the constant whirr of the ship and the beeping of the controls. He glances at you every so often with an unreadable expression on his face, and you wonder what he’s thinking. What is he up to?
The Narkis Desert is filled with rock formations that you swear could be manmade. However, they all blend into the landscape quite easily. Farther in, you start to see more obvious ruins of an ancient past and know that you’re getting closer. “That looks like something.” Hongjoong points at a tall wall of rock shaped like triangles, the rock both white and the regular ochre seen all over this planet.Â
You set down the ship right outside and power down, “It’s up to you now.” Turning to face him, he looks at ease and confident, “Time to use those bounty hunter skills of yours.” Your tone isn’t exactly nice but he doesn’t seem to mind.Â
“And this time when I tell you to do something, you need to do it.” He gets up from his seat and opens the door while R5 enters the living area. He beeps a question about where you’re going today and you just sigh.
“You can’t come with us today. It’s too dangerous.”
He makes his disapproval known as he scoots forward and back in quick succession, his chirping louder than ever. “I know that you want to come, but you won’t be able to get around out there. Besides, I need you to watch the ship, okay?” You pat the top of his head and make your way out of the ship. The door closes right after you completely step out and you know that R5 isn’t happy with you at all.Â
“I think we’re close.” Hongjoong doesn’t wait for you as he steps through a gap in the wall. Shaking your head, you follow after him and enter a corridor. There’s no roof, and the flooring is extremely rough, but you can picture what it may have looked like when it wasn’t ruins.Â
You follow him up stairs to the left and take a right down another corridor, all while watching his back. He sways with a confidence that seems to always catch your eye and you don’t know why that is. Maybe it’s because this is the first time in so many years someone is with you? Maybe deep down you’re excited that you’re not alone anymore? You don’t like the thought of that person being Hongjoong, but being perpetually lonely has taken a toll on you.Â
He stops abruptly and looks at his forearm. You move closer and watch as a small hologram opens up, showing a red dot on the top right. “What is this?” You turn your attention to him as he studies the hologram.
“Shows a lifeform’s heat signature up to 15 meters.” He presses a button on his cuff and the image instantly goes away. You eye him suspiciously, wondering what other gadgets he has up his sleeves. “Let’s go.”
You follow him more closely this time as he quickly follows the red dot. He occasionally pulls up the hologram to see if he’s going in the right direction and it’s interesting to watch. He stops again before taking a left and you notice it, there’s a soft rustling of fabric very close by alongside the faint sound of something clacking. He glances at you and nods before carefully going around the corner. He speaks before you see who it is, “I’m assuming you’re the one who's here to help?”
Turning the corner, you see that it’s another alien that looks like the Anchorite from Jedha City. The being nods, “Yes, Sister Isola said you were in need.” His voice is smooth and easy to listen to. He turns his attention to you, “You must be Y/N.”
“Yes.”
He studies you suspiciously even though you’re sure that he was told about who you are. You understand his caution completely. “She says that you are a jedi.” He says it like a question more than a statement.
“Yes I am.”
He points at Hongjoong, “And who is he?”
You hesitate answering him as you try to think of an answer. You can’t say that he’s a bounty hunter, that would surely go well trying to convince him to get you into the Hidden Path. Sighing, you flick your eyes to him and back to the Anchorite, “He’s a friend.” It feels wrong to say, but you can’t think of anything else. The grin on Hongjoong’s face after hearing that is irksome as you shift your weight to one side.
The Anchorite folds his arms over his chest, “Sister Isola seems to trust that you are a jedi, however I am not entirely convinced.”
Hongjoong shoots you a look and you know what it means. You slowly take your lightsaber off of your belt and hold it out to the Anchorite in a peace offering. He shifts his weight back as if ready to flee, but you hold your saber to the side so the blade is not facing him. After a moment, he tentatively takes it from you and holds it with both hands. He studies it intensely, turning it over and over while feeling the weight of it. After years of it always on you, you forget how heavy it can be. You watch as he flips the switch, igniting your blue blade in an instant and the Anchorite seems to visibly relax. He still doesn’t trust you completely though, that you know. “After seeing this…” He sighs and nods, “But him on the other hand, I don’t trust.”
“I’m only a friend.” Hongjoong explains and you know that didn’t help at all.
“Look, all I’m looking for is a place that is safe. After so many years of running, I’m tired and I’m hoping that you’ll be able to help me find that.”Â
He stares at you for a long moment before handing your lightsaber back, “I will take you to the Path.”
You can’t help the smile that spreads on your face, “Thank you.” He nods again as you put your saber back onto your belt, “May I know your name?”
“I am Brother Armias.”
The trek back to your ship is somewhat awkward as you walk side by side with Brother Armias. Hongjoong leads the way and doesn’t look back at all, that confident stride bewitching you all over again. “When we get there, you’ll meet someone very important.” He states as you step over a fallen rock.
“Who are they?”
“It’s better if she introduces herself.”
R5 is not happy when you open the door to your ship. He doesn’t say anything to you, and by the way he sits and stares at you, tells you that he’s not going to speak with you at all till you apologize. You take a seat in the pilot’s chair as Hongjoong closes the door, “Where to?”
Brother Armias reaches over to your console and inputs the coordinates, “There’s a hangar you can set down in.”
“Sounds good.”Â
Hongjoong takes the chair next to you while you fly and you can tell he’s itching to put his feet up. He knows better though than to try that again and you’re glad for it. Brother Armias stays behind you with his arms carefully crossed over his chest as you follow the coordinates. He’s not a very talkative person, but you suspect that’s because he doesn’t entirely trust you both yet.Â
........
The hangar is lofty and pretty dim when you step out of the ship. This time Brother Armias leads the way as you take a right and climb up a ramp into another chamber. The large door on the other side opens as soon as you step forward and you can feel your heart in your throat from anticipation.Â
A woman stands in front of a table, her bald head hung low as she reads something on top of it. A lightsaber is strapped to her side and the sight of that excites you. As soon as she hears you enter this new chamber, she turns and examines you, moving her hands behind her back, but you catch a glimpse of the long tattoos sprawling up each arm. Now that you can see her face, you also notice three lines on either side of her forehead traveling down to each dark eyebrow. The black ink compliments her radiant brown skin as your gaze travels to her cheeks; there, you notice triangles that connect to a line that goes down to the corners of her mouth. Even her chin is tattooed, but none of them are overwhelming. You wonder what they symbolize? You stand a little straighter with her gaze fixated on you, and you wonder who she is. “Y/N,” She speaks and steps forward, “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
The room you’re standing in is spacious, yet your attention travels to the glowing blue archives on either side of the room. Melancholy overwhelms you at the sight of something you thought was lost so long ago, and the woman in front of you notices. “We’re trying to restore the Jedi Archives. Right now, we don’t have much but eventually we’ll get everything back that we’ve lost.”
You nod as you bite the inside of your lip to stop the emotions brewing inside of you from coming out, “I’m glad.”
She studies you again before saying, “I’m Cere Junda, who was your Master?”
You haven’t said her name since… Images of that fateful day flash through your mind and you swallow thickly, feeling that familiar heaviness settle over you. The image of her dead eyes looking at you is stained into your memory, “Sybilla Cloge”
“Ah yes, I knew her. She was strong with the Force, I remember that. I am sorry for your loss.” She looks to the floor, her expression changing to one of deep pain, “We’ve all lost someone to the Purge.Â
You don’t answer her but nod. It’s too painful talking about your Master or thinking about who she was. Hongjoong stands right beside you, watching both you and this new woman inquisitively. Cere steps forward again, “You have two choices here- You get a brand new identity and disappear to one of our safe houses, or you can join the fight and help our cause. It’s up to you Y/N.”
Glancing over to Hongjoong, you already know that you can’t take up her first offer, you made a deal and you can’t break that. “I don’t know to be honest, but I’ve made a promise that I have to keep before making that choice.”
Cere only smiles hearing that, “Well, you are welcome here any time. We’re always here to help.” She turns and grabs something off of the table and hands it to you, “It’s encrypted, but use it sparingly to talk to us, the Empire is always trying to find us.” You tuck the comlink into your pocket as she continues, “Next time though, call in and just land in the hangar.”
“We’ll do that.” Hongjoong answers her and she finally regards him. Her body language is different as she looks at him, less open than she was to you but not untrusting. Before she can ask who he is he says, “I’m a friend.”
Cere turns to you and bows her head slightly, “May the Force be with you Y/N.” You watch as she leaves the room, leaving you alone with Hongjoong and Brother Armias once more. You don’t know what to think or feel after that interaction. After years of not being around anyone in fear of being found, you’ve finally found a piece of yourself that was locked away. Hearing that phrase after so long- You feel almost whole.Â
Hongjoong pats your back, “Let’s get going.”
You sigh and nod, turning to go back out the door you came through. Brother Armias follows you all the way to your ship but doesn’t say anything even though you can feel his stare. When you reach the ramp of your ship, he finally speaks, “Master Junda seems to like you.” You turn to face him and hold onto the side of your ship, feeling the cold metal press into your hand. “Stay safe out there Y/N.”
“I will, thank you.” You bow your head as he nods and leaves in another direction, his robes swishing with each step. Hongjoong waits for you inside of the ship with one corner of his mouth raised in an almost smirk. “What?”
“Oh nothing.” He waves and walks to the cockpit while you close the door.
“Now it’s your turn to tell me who we’re searching for.”
That smile disappears from his face in an instant as he stares at you, not saying another word. You pass by him and start up the ship as the rumble of the hangar opening up above you begins, “I can’t help if I don’t know who it is we’re searching for or any other things that would help. Like you said, you have to learn to trust.”Â
His eyes narrow, “I know what I said.”
Lifting off, you carefully navigate your ship up and out of the hangar and fly off of the planet. He holds onto the back of the other chair while you set it to autopilot and let it orbit, “Hongjoong, I’m serious. I’m going to hold up my end of this deal; you don’t have to worry about me betraying you- That’s not who I am.” You turn to face him, “I sure as hell don’t trust you, but I just brought you to the Hidden Path. You very well could compromise the whole organization, but I trusted you enough to bring you with me. Trust me just enough to help you find this person.”
He grips the seat harder as he thinks, but after a minute he sighs harshly and nods, “I know, it’s just hard to. You know that.” His gaze connects with yours and something feels different. There’s an understanding between the two of you and it feels like your relationship has changed just a little bit. “His name is Cyris Drathare. We grew up together, and in turn started doing bounties together. One day, I was flanking a target while he stayed on the balcony above, but when I got back, he was gone. The only thing left was…” He reaches into his shirt and pulls out a necklace. The diamond-like shape is interesting, but the dark green crystal within it catches your eye. “It was on the ground when I got back, and Cyris would never leave it behind. So, he had to have left it for me to find, there’s no other explanation.”
“And what makes you think the Empire took him?”
“I just know.” His jaw ticks as he grinds his teeth, “He wouldn’t have made it easy.”
Silence hangs in the air as you think about what he said, “Well where do we start?”
“I know another bounty hunter. He’s a slimy guy, but he’ll have some information we can use.” He rubs a hand down his face, “You can’t even seem like a jedi, he’ll sniff you out and turn you in instantly.”
“Who is this guy?”
“Kaanda Thalzune, he works for the Hutt cartel on Nar Shaddaa. We’ve gotta play this right or we’re screwed.” If you didn’t know any better, you’d say you could see worry in his eyes. You doubt it’s for you though, but the way he looks so serious makes your skin prickle.Â
Keeping complete eye contact with him, you tilt your head up, “We’ll be fine. We just have to make a plan.”Â
“Just be prepared, Kaanda will try to one up you.” His gaze travels to your lips for just a second and back to your eyes, “Maybe try something else too.”
You don’t know why that quick look makes you all warm, so you banish that feeling as quickly as it comes. “Don’t worry, I can handle myself.”
His smile returns, “Oh I know you can.”

Chapter 3
While hovering over a planet, you fuel up your ship from inside using the stolen loot. R5 stares at the Bounty Hunter named Hongjoong, clearly distrusting him. He occasionally beeps and flips out his circular saw in a show of dominance and that makes you smirk. You don’t tell R5 to mind his business at all, you don’t trust Hongjoong so why should he? Then again, you are going to work together for the time being, so you have to at least look like you’re cooperating. You don’t plan on lowering your guard around him at all though.
“Odds are, he put a homing beacon on your ship when you took off.” Hongjoong says as he puts his feet up on the corner of your Holotable. You frown at the sight and push his legs off from across the room. You know you shouldn’t use the Force so willy-nilly like that, but you feel like you should show dominance and that you can beat him if you want to. “Sorry.” He puts his hands up and sits properly in his chair.
“What makes you think that he put one on in the five seconds it took for me to take off?” You cross your arms over your chest.
He frowns at you, “He’s an Inquisitor, of course he’s going to put one on.” You know that he’s right, but you just want to argue with him just for the sake of arguing. “We should land on this planet and destroy it and get the hell out before he finds us.”
You huff out a sigh, “Fine.” You return to the cockpit and flip autopilot off as he takes the seat beside you. You glance over at him and frown, not knowing how you are going to work with this man. If he can keep his end of the deal, you’d be able to find the Hidden Path and finally be able to relax. Then again, who’s to say that he won’t betray you?
The ship rumbles as you enter into the planet’s atmosphere. As soon as you land on a secluded landing pad, Hongjoong is already up and opening the door. “Hey! At least wait till we’re fully on the ground!”
He waves you off and jumps outside and you shake your head in disbelief, “This guy is crazy.” R5 just beeps and rolls off, disappearing once more into the empty ship. You flip the power off and join Hongjoong outside, finding him scouring the metal of your ship with keen eyes. He holds his hands behind his back as he inspects, clearly noticing you staring, but he doesn’t look away or stop.Â
He works fast and finds the little device stuck under one of the wings, ripping it off and throwing it as hard as he can away from the ship, “Let’s go.”
You don’t move though, you cross your arms over your chest while you stand in the middle of the doorway, “How do you know that that is the only one?”
He frowns and waves his hands around him exasperatedly, “That’s the only one, now let’s go.” You stare at him for a long time, untrusting and use the Force again to pin him where he stands. “Hey, what the fuck? You don’t have to do that, you know!”
You hold him in place as you finally take a step outside and look for yourself, “I’ve gotta see for myself.”
He just huffs an annoyed breath, “This isn’t going to work if we don’t start trusting each other.”
You laugh quietly, “Oh you’ve gotta earn that, I don’t trust people willy-nilly bounty hunter.” The metal sheen of your ship still shines as if nothing has scuffed it, leaving no trace of the encounter you had before. You don’t find any more Homing Beacons, but you weren’t going to take his word on it. “Prove to me that you’re someone worth trusting and maybe I won’t pin you in place.” You give him a victorious smile and he just shakes his head in disbelief.
“And how am I supposed to do that, Jedi?” His voice is sickly sweet.
You let him go forcefully and he grunts from the impact, “You’ve got to figure that out yourself.”
You both enter the ship without saying anything else to each other and you know that he’s annoyed with you. You know that using your abilities is dangerous, but you feel like you should make it known to him that you aren’t to be messed with. Hongjoong plops right back down next to the Holotable and scoots back, spreading his knees to get more comfortable, “I get it you know.”
You glance back as you take a seat in the pilot’s chair and start the engines, “Hmm?”
“I get it. You don’t think I don’t know what happened to the Jedi? The Empire can spout all of the nonsense they want, but I remember what it was like before, I remember what happened.” You perk up, listening intently to what he has to say while you lift off. “It’s not right what they’re doing, what they’ve done.”
You don’t know how to respond to that. Just talking about that fateful day and what was before makes your heart hurt and nausea to attack your stomach. “I just passed the trials and was knighted when it happened.” You sigh harshly, “Now you, tell me something.”
He shifts as you pick a distant planet and set it to autopilot. You get up from the chair and turn to face him, placing your hands on your hips. He has a look on his face that you can’t decipher as he stares at you, “The person I’m trying to find, they’re the closest thing to family I’ve got.” Your brows shoot up from this revelation but he doesn’t continue. “Your turn.”
You hesitate for a moment and take a seat in the opposite chair facing him before telling the most trivial detail about yourself, “My home planet is Chandrila.” Crossing one leg over the other, you dare to ask, “So this person, if they’re not blood related to you, who are they?”
“Careful now, you’ve gotta earn my trust for that.” He smiles, echoing the sentiment you told him earlier.Â
“So where are we going?” He puts his hands on his knees.
“Just set it to the farthest planet from where we were at.” You shrug, “Now, mind telling me how we’re going to find the Hidden Path?”
He cocks his head to the side, his black hair fanning over his forehead, “The Path is hard to come by, but I heard that there is someone who knows where it might be on Jedha.”
“Jedha?”
He leans back farther and interlaces his hands behind his neck, “You don’t believe me?”
Jedha. It’s going to take longer to get there and you don’t like that. In a way, you just want to find the Path immediately and find safety. He just watches you curiously until you stand back up and head back to the cockpit. You flip autopilot off and set coordinates for Jedha, stopping at planets on the way to get fuel, “Get strapped in, we’re going to enter hyperspace.”
He gets up and sits down in the other seat, strapping himself in tight. You don’t spare him a second glance and flip the switch. The ship lurches forward and the stars turn into white lines as they whizz by. Even though you’ve travelled by hyperspace a lot, you’re sure that you’ll never get used to the pressure pushing on your body while doing it.
You stay there for half a day, traveling while saying nothing. You can feel the glances on your skin, but you don’t look at him. The ship and where you’re going is more important at the moment. When the fuel is depleted enough to make you uncomfortable, you get out of hyperspace and search for the closest planet to land, “We’ve got to get fuel before we continue.”
He just hums, “Might as well land there.” He points to one on the monitor.
“Sounds good enough for me.” You turn towards it.
“If you don’t mind me asking, are we buying the fuel or stealing it?”
You shoot your eyes to him, seeing that he’s completely relaxed as he reclines in his seat, “What?”
“I mean, you stole those credits off of those Rodians right? You’re a thief.” He exhales, “There’s no shame in it, I’m not going to judge you.”
Did he see you kill those Rodians? Did he see what happened after? Of course he did, how would he know that Inquisitor’s name if he hadn’t? Although you don’t like being called a thief even though you know that it’s not a lie- “Unless you have credits to pay for it.” You don’t mean to sound snappy, but that’s how it sounds.
He doesn’t seem offended though, “I have some, but don’t get too comfortable getting used to me paying. I worked hard for my money.” He crosses one leg over the other and turns to look at you.
You huff a laugh and take a swig from the drink you made, “By collecting bounties you mean?”
He glares at you, “As to what, stealing off of dead bodies? You’re not better than me just because of your abilities. You're stuck placating the Empire just to live- just like me.” He bounces his leg as if trying to hold himself back.Â
You know that he’s right. There’s no way for you to follow the Jedi’s code completely now that you are hunted. Gone are the days of living in peace and helping those in need, now you are stuck living day by day with only yourself to think about. You do try to live up to the Jedi code as best as you can, but people are different nowadays. You feel like you’ve failed. You feel like you failed your Master- No, you can’t think about that, you have to focus on moving forward.Â
“We’ll see how expensive it is and go from there.”
Luckily, fuel on the planet wasn’t too expensive, but you still don’t like watching your credits disappear. After checking the hull of the ship once more just in case, you lift off the planet and set coordinates to Jedha. He hasn’t explained in depth of what you’ll find there, and you’re nervous that he has ulterior motives. It’s not like you can trust him at all, but you have to try. If you can find the Hidden Path, you’ll finally be safe.
Jedha is a plain looking planet. There’s nothing really remarkable about it, only hues of browns and darker browns as far as the eye can see. You much prefer planets with expansive greenery, but Jedha has its charms.
“Where are we going?” You let the ship orbit.
He walks towards you, stopping right beside your chair and shifts his weight to one side, “Jedha City.”
“Are you going to tell me what or who we are looking for? Or am I on an information diet?”
He only smiles at that, “I told you I would get you to the Hidden Path, I don’t need to share everything with you.”
You hum at that and take the ship down. He stays beside you as you enter the atmosphere, keeping his balance by holding the empty chair next to you. You don’t know why he won’t just sit down. Which do you dislike more, him sitting next to you only a few inches farther away, or standing next to you? You can’t really decide.
Jedha City sits atop a massive plateau, with a tall temple on one end that stretches high into the sky- The Kyber Temple, just another reminder of once was. Hongjoong points to a mountain range a distance away from the city, “We’ll land there and travel to the city. The landing pads are controlled and manned by the Empire.”
You answer him with a nod and fly the ship over to the mountain range. Landing in a little basin near a sheer rock wall, you power off the ship and stand, “Let’s get going.”
“Not before I get my blasters back.”
You give him a look but he doesn’t budge. With a heavy sigh, you cross the room and lift it off of the high shelf you put it on. “One wrong move-”
He waves his hand, “I’m not that dumb. We’re on the same side, remember?”
“For now.”Â
With your robe’s hood pulled over your head, you exit the ship with Hongjoong and watch as the door closes with a hiss. R5 watches on, chirping incessantly telling you that he wants to come too but you hold a hand up, “Stay with the ship R5, I’ll be back.” You don’t want to leave your ship so far away, but you can’t risk landing it where the Empire can get to it. Hongjoong gives you a glance and heads off in the direction of the city, knowing that you’ll follow him. He has a confident stride, the imprint of his boots marking the ochre sand while his twin blasters sway slightly on his hips with each step.
The sun beats down on you relentlessly as you walk and you’re now regretting landing so far away. Hongjoong keeps a fast pace and doesn’t look back, so you ask, “So what is it that we’re looking for? Is it a person? A place?”
His exasperated sigh reaches your ears even though he’s at least ten feet in front of you, “You’re relentless, you know that? I’ll get you there, now stop badgering me.”
You jog to catch up to him, “It’s hard to trust you.”
He chuckles, “I’m not giving out my secrets on how I do my job. You’re just going to have to trust that I’ll keep our deal.”
That’s not very comforting at all, but you know that he’s right. “Fine.”
He shoots you a look and the corner of his mouth ticks up, “I have a good track record, I’ll have you know.”
“Oh I’m sure you do.”
By the time you make it into the city your feet are aching. You don’t show any inclination of your discomfort at all though as you take the last step up into the city and adjust your hood. No one knows who you are or what you are, but you don’t want to take any chances. Hongjoong walks as if he walks these streets everyday, showing no hesitation where he’s going at all. He takes a right down an alleyway and then exits onto a larger road filled with vendors vying for attention.
He glances at you and indicates for you to walk closer with his chin and you pick up your pace. “Don’t look so skittish.” He whispers to you.
You shoot him a pointed look, “I do not need your advice.” He acts as if you have no idea what you are doing or you haven’t been hiding from the Empire for years. He only smirks and continues walking.
You reach a vendor's stall at the end of a small street. The sign on the table says, will trade artifacts for credits or other items, and you eye the being behind it. They’re different from other aliens you’ve seen in the Mid Rim, that being you can’t really see them at all. A hood covers their entire head, with only a stripe of mesh so they can see. They have an ornate hat in the shape of a half dome, the front cut in another half circle over their forehead. Beads of square talismans hang from the hat that move with the slight breeze. “How may I help you?” A soft and wise female voice sounds from the hooded figure.
“We’re in need of some information.” Hongjoong shifts his weight to one side and leans on the table. “We were hoping you could help us.”
“I will do my best to answer then.”
He leans in closer, “Where does one find the Hidden Path?” Your eyes widen in shock with him outright asking that. Saying those words to the wrong person could get you both killed.Â
The alien jerks back and looks side to side searching for any threats, “I don’t know what you mean.” They start to pack up their table as quickly as possible, stuffing it all in a bag over their shoulder.
“An Anchorite of the Force, you know what I mean.” Hongjoong’s tone is more serious, causing the Anchorite to stop. They don’t say anything or move for the longest time and you can scarcely breathe.
“How can I trust you?” She asks, still guarded.
He looks to you, “Show her.”
You know what he’s asking, but pulling out your lightsaber while on a busy street in the middle of the day is beyond stupid and asking for trouble. “I’d prefer not to out in the open.”
“Goodbye then.” The Anchorite walks away and Hongjoong makes an irritated noise directed at you and gives you a sharp glare.Â
“Do what I say or we’ll never find the Path.” He walks away, following the Anchorite and you do the same muttering curses behind his back. You follow her down the busy street, avoiding people walking along as well, all while staying a distance away from her.
When she takes a left down an alleyway, Hongjoong speeds up and stops her by a secluded alcove. “Leave me alone, I have no answers for you.”
Hongjoong waves his hand for you to approach, “Just look.”
You glance right and left in case anyone is watching and pull out your saber, hoping that this won’t come back to bite you in the ass. The Anchorite makes a surprised noise but shakes her head, “This proves nothing.”
You sigh and bite the inside of your cheek before flipping the switch, your lightsaber igniting into that familiar blue. The Anchorite’s body language changes instantly as she observes you, “What is your name jedi?”
“Y/N.”
She is quiet once more as you turn your saber off and return it to your belt. After a moment she sighs, “Go to the Narkis Desert and travel to the highlands, there you will find a monastery. Someone will be there to help you.”
“Thank you.” You bow your head slightly as Hongjoong steps to the side, allowing her an exit. She regards you one last time and doesn’t look in his direction as she disappears down the alleyway.
Hongjoong shoots you a victorious smile, “Let’s get going.”

Chapter 11
Looking at your sleeping face while you are in his arms- Yunho wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. He still can hardly believe that you chose to come back and now, being able to actually touch you without the fear of the Dragon is absolutely freeing. It felt like a divine punishment, like genuine torture wanting to be with you, wanting to be able to cherish you and not being able to even graze his skin against yours. Now he feels the warmth of your skin against his, he feels the way your breath hits his face in gentle gusts, he can feel your heartbeat against his in a perfect song.
The night sky is completely clear, the moon and stars providing enough light that even you could see if you were awake. Mingi rouses from his sleep and glances over at Yunho whose eyes are completely fixated on your face, “Have you not slept?”
“No. I haven’t really slept since she came back. I don’t want to miss a single moment of this.”
Mingi just smiles hearing that, he completely understands. “She’s perfect.”
“She’s beyond perfect.” He leans forward and lightly kisses your forehead.
“I do worry though.”
Yunho’s eyes shoot to Mingi’s, “About?”
“What if life with us isn’t enough for her? We don’t know the first thing about humans or what they need or like. She’s told us some, but I worry that it won’t be enough.” Mingi thinks about how excited you are when you find a new trinket in the wrecks littered on the shores, how much your eyes light up seeing something familiar. “What if we aren’t enough?”
Yunho is silent for a long moment as he thinks of a response, “I do worry about that too, but all we can do is our best. I will do anything for her happiness.”
“As will I.”
You mumble something in your sleep and both men turn their attention to you. They both smile softly and hold onto you a little closer, not squeezing you too tight and careful to not wake you. “This really feels like a dream to me. How have I, out of everyone in this world get to be with her? She could be with anyone, but she chose to be with us.” Yunho doesn’t look at Mingi as he talks, he’s back to admiring you.
“You know, I don’t know either.”
The sounds of night take over as they settle into silence. There’s the occasional chirp of a small frog or the rusting of animals moving around in the foliage, but they don’t worry. “I am sorry though, Mingi.” Yunho still feels ashamed, “Forcing you to leave was… I am sorry.”
Mingi nods, “It’s in the past now, there’s no need to stew on it or think of what should have happened. I forgive you.” He shoots him a playful smile but there’s a seriousness in his eyes, “But if you try that shit again I will have to kick your ass.”
“Oh I wouldn’t dream of it.”
You make another sound and both men quiet immediately. Your face scrunches as you huff out an agitated breath and they can’t help but find that incredibly endearing. With one last acknowledgment to each other, they settle back down, allowing sleep to take them.
........
You wake enveloped in between both men, both holding onto like you’ll disappear if they let go for even a second. Hot breath hits the back of your neck while multiple hands are splayed out all over your body. It seems like they can sense that you are awake, because their grip on you tightens as they groan, waking themselves up.Â
Lips press onto your clothed shoulder and Mingi’s husky voice grumbles into your ear, “I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this.”
You start to stretch your limbs as best as you can, “We have all the time in the world to get used to this.”Â
Yunho shifts, turning over to face you and kisses you gently. You sigh pleasantly and drape a leg over him, rolling your hips so you can get closer to him. Mingi scoots closer, pressing his hips against your ass and holding your lower stomach. He begins to kiss your neck that’s exposed to him while Yunho peppers kisses against your mouth. The heat rises between you all and you’re beginning to hate that you’re not entirely unclothed.
Mingi rolls his hips forward, his bulge pressing into the supple skin of your ass that makes you needy and wanting. A whine escapes your lips when Yunho breaks the kiss and starts to scoot down, settling himself between your legs while you remain on your side.Â
The first stripe of his tongue on your clit has you seeing stars as you grip onto Mingi’s forearms, your nails digging into his soft skin. He continues to kiss your neck, whispering praises and love while his fingers graze your hip playfully. Yunho growls at the taste of you, not caring that you are not entirely washed from last night’s ministrations.Â
When he dips his tongue into your entrance you shift away suddenly, soreness blooming where you ache for it not to. Both men stop immediately, worry emanating off of them in harsh waves. Yunho returns to your side in seconds, “Did I hurt you? What’s wrong?”
Mingi holds you protectively, but is careful not to squeeze you too tight as you shake your head no, “No, you didn’t hurt me. I’m just sore.”
A disappointed sigh sounds behind you, “So I did hurt you, what other reason is there than I was too rough?”
You let out an amused laugh, “No, it’s not that. I’m just not used to… you know.” They still don’t seem to follow what you’re saying entirely. “I’m not used to penetrative sex.”
They’re quiet for a moment until Yunho cups your cheek and asks, “Is there anything that’ll help you feel better?”
“The warm pools at home would be heavenly, but I think time will suffice.”
“Then we will go home immediately.” Mingi gets up in a flash and transforms, his large white form inching closer to you insistently. He nudges you with his snout as you sit up and chuckle at the sight.Â
“I don’t want to sit for an entire day while traveling, besides- there’s other things we can do.” Heat flushes your cheeks and you look down at the soft sand. Yunho’s hands snake around your waist as Mingi chuffs, not liking that you don’t want to go home now.Â
“What things do you have in mind?” Yunho kisses your clothed shoulder.
You bite on your lower lip not knowing how to say it at all, but Yunho asks you again, his voice coaxing and husky. Finally, you ask him, “Can I pleasure you instead?”
He seems to freeze, the realization that you could pleasure him the same way he has with you dawning on his face. He smiles, one corner of his mouth hiking up, “You know that you can do anything to me.”
You smile and bite your lip, “Then stand up.”
He immediately does what you ask and cocks his head as he looks down at you. You shift to sit on your knees as Mingi shifts back into his human form and sits behind you, allowing for you to sit down on his lap. He places his hands on your lap, his thumbs rubbing back and forth on your skin. Yunho watches you with an eager eye but doesn’t force you to proceed, he just patiently stands there with his hands by his side.Â
You reach for his loincloth, your fingers grazing over his hot skin and he sucks in a sharp breath. Taking the cloth off slowly is entertaining to watch and you know that he wants you to go faster by the way his nose scrunches and the way his chest heaves. When you do take it completely off, you find that he’s already hard and ready for you. You make a pleased hum and sit higher on your knees, abandoning Mingi’s lap to kiss Yunho’s right hip. He jerks slightly from the sudden kiss but tries to remain still for you.Â
Hands find your hips from behind as you kiss lower on his v-line. You hold the back Yunho’s thighs as you finally graze your lips on his length and he can’t help but let out a groan. There’s a noise behind you as Mingi watches and you smile to yourself. You pepper kisses all the way up, and when you reach the tip, you lick off the liquid beading there. The stripe of your tongue seems to have an extreme effect on him as he throws his head back, the chords of his neck straining from that little touch.
Humming to yourself, you finally take him into your mouth and watch his face through your lashes. Flattening your tongue, you try to see how far you can take him in but find that your gag reflux is quite sensitive. You’ll try to fix that issue eventually, but right now you’ll deal with it. You run your tongue up the underside of him, and when you reach the spot just below his head, his body jerks and he lets out a whine. Hearing that makes you shift, your hips searching for any friction but finding none.
Mingi is observant though and drags a hand up your thigh and towards your core, finding your clit easily. Your hips buck as he circles it and you moan around Yunho. The vibrations seem to make him lose all restraint, because he pumps into your mouth in shallow thrusts causing tears to spring to your eyes. He’s still careful even through the throes of lust.Â
“Fuck Y/N.” Yunho groans, “You feel so good.”
Mingi’s other hand finds your breast as he continues his ministrations on your clit. He pinches your nipple lightly over your shirt and you arch your back, keeping your mouth open for Yunho. Lips press onto your neck and you know that if Mingi does anything more you are done for.
The taste of Yunho is addictive as you moan around him. He makes little whines and groans with every thrust that makes you flutter around nothing. You suck harder, and Yunho's whole body seizes up, his breaths coming out in fast pants and you know that he’s close.
Mingi’s hand dips under the hem of your shirt and travels up your stomach to finally touch your bare skin. He circles your hardened nipple while his other hand doesn’t stop circling your aching clit. You arch into his touch and moan, which in turn makes Yunho whimper and jerk against you. You let go of one of his legs and push your hand up his thigh, and when you graze the underside of his balls he explodes, painting your mouth with his release.
You do your best to swallow as Mingi licks a stripe up your neck and squeezes your breast, the rhythm on your clit never changing. That sweet warmth that’s been building in your core grows and grows as you lean back, letting Yunho fall from your mouth and lean your head back onto Mingi’s shoulder.Â
He whispers into your ear, “You look so hot pleasuring him. Let me hear you darling.”
A high-pitched whine escapes your lips as you grind your hips onto his hand, “Please Mingi.”
A pleased hum rumbles next to your ear as Yunho drops to his knees in front of you looking dazed and flushed. He reaches for you, placing one hand high on your thigh as he leans in and kisses you sloppily. It’s all tongue and heat and you’re on the brink of exploding. With one more squeeze of your breast, you’re flying. Your chest heaves as you tremble, your release hitting you in waves that makes you twitch against both men.Â
After a minute or two, you finally lift your head from Mingi’s shoulder and breathe deeply. Both men watch you, their red eyes dark with lust but still hold the gentleness that you love so much. A moment of silence passes, and you chuckle, “You know, that was supposed to be all about me pleasuring you.”
Mingi kisses your cheek, “You did so good.”
Yunho scoots closer, “You’re amazing, you know that?”
Your stomach growls as an answer and both men glance at each other. Smiling, you lean back onto Mingi, putting your entire weight onto him. He doesn’t seem phased and pulls you closer as Yunho stands up, looking around to see if there’s anything to eat. It’s only then do you remember that you brought a bag filled with fruit and you laugh to yourself. They both look at you confused but you press a hand to your stomach, “My bag.”
Yunho understands immediately and cracks a smile, “I’ll go find it.”
........
The day is spent lazily kissing each man and exploring their bodies. After eating breakfast, Mingi got his turn with your mouth and was equally as shocked as Yunho was. Not even a second passes by without their hands on you, and you wouldn’t want it any other way.Â
Gone is your shirt, tossed somewhere just like your pants. The breeze against your bare skin feels nice even though a thin sheen of sweat covers your entire body. You lie on your back, your head cradled in Mingi’s lap as he massages your scalp. Yunho lays on top of your right leg, occasionally kissing your inner thigh which makes you twitch.Â
“You know, I still can’t believe that my life has ended up like this.” You say as you stare up into the night sky. “I for one wasn’t expecting to be the one chosen to be the sacrifice, and then to fall in love with the dragons who stole me.” You smile as they both make a noise. “I guess I thought my fate was to live in solitude even though I was surrounded by people, now I’m here with you.”
Mingi cups your cheek, “And here you stay, right?”Â
He already knows the answer, but you answer him anyway, “Of course.” You turn your head and gently kiss his palm.
“Oh you’re not leaving my love.” Yunho drags his lips up your inner thigh and smirks when you jerk. “You’re stuck with us.”
“I’m fine with that.”
The cracks of the fire beside you fill the air as you settle in. After a moment though, Yunho asks, “And you’re sure that you’re okay with not having human things? Or do what humans usually do?” There’s a worried edge to his tone and you don’t particularly know why that is.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” That doesn’t seem to be a good enough answer to him due to how tense his body language is as he plays with the sand beside your leg. “I don’t need human things. I need you both. Sure, having things that remind me of home are nice, but I already have them on the island. Besides, I’m starting a new life with both of you. We can create new things, together.”
Mingi’s deep voice sounds above you, “I’m just worried that you may miss it.”
You exhale a long breath, “I may miss it.” The tension seems to grow with that and you rush to continue, “However, it’s not like I won’t ever have those things or do human practices ever again. We can start doing them on the island.” You think about the time when you found the drum and sang to them, and how you danced with Yunho while Mingi watched. “Can’t you trust that I will be okay?”
“We just worry about you, that’s all.” Mingi strokes your head lovingly, “I guess we’ll always worry about you no matter what.”
You only answer with a hum as Yunho’s thumb rubs gentle circles into your skin. Your mind wanders as the silence drags on, landing on your old village and everything you left behind- All of the things your mother left behind for you. Then an idea pops into your head and you’re not sure if you’ve gone mad. “What if…” You start and pause, not knowing how to articulate what you’re thinking, “I left a great deal in my old home, things that I would miss and hate to lose… What if we went and brought them home?”
They don’t answer you immediately and you become antsy and anxious, “Maybe I’m being too unrealistic.”
Yunho sits up, “No, it’s just going there would be dangerous. There’s no saying how they’d react to two dragons showing back up, especially with you being there. I don’t want to risk your safety.”
You know that he’s right. For centuries the humans of your village have been at the mercy of the dragons, offering up women in return for safety. There’s a deep-rooted hatred there that you know will never be remedied. You sigh and nod, “You’re right, it was too fanciful of an idea.”
“What if the dragons didn’t show up?” Mingi asks and you sit up, turning to face him while Yunho’s hands snake around your waist.
You furrow your brows, “What do you mean?”
“We’ll just have to be in our human form.”

Chapter 2
You take a step back as the lone figure grabs their belt and in one swoop, ignites a red lightsaber. Your breathing quickens as you reach for your belt, pulling off the cold metal from your person that you haven’t used in a very long time. The deep distorted voice calls to you, “You’re supposed to be dead.”
“I guess I’m hard to kill.” You flip the switch and your lightsaber ignites into a vibrant blue. The figure sprints towards you and in a flash, your lightsabers connect. The figure force pushes you back and swings their lightsaber to the right and you block it easily before they swing it towards your legs. You jump over it and spin your weapon behind you as you turn to block another attack. “I thought Inquisitors were supposed to be good at duels.” You yell out as you strike to the left.
They parry and quickly jab their lightsaber forward, causing you to narrowly miss being impaled. The distorted voice laughs, “Your reflexes are slow, Jedi.” They do a flurry of attacks that drive you back, further away from your ship. You strike to the left to get close and kick them hard in the chest. They fall backwards, but they roll and jump back up angrier than before, “Your death will be agonizing.”
“As will yours.” You grunt and block an attack from above. You haven’t dueled with anyone in a long time and you are quite rusty, but your life depends on the training and skills you learned many years ago. They attack again, striking fast and hard. You block each one, but their anger fuelled power is hard to fight against.Â
You strike right and left and swing your lightsaber over your head to slash downwards as you force pull them to knock them off balance. It connects and their helmet oozes orange from the molten metal. They grunt and rip their helmet off as fast as possible and you can finally see who is under the mask.
Black hair sticks to the man’s forehead as sweat beads down his cheeks. His eyes are dark with hatred as he stares at you, “Clever.”
Your chest heaves and you spin your saber on your side, “Why don’t you just leave? It’s not like I was bothering anyone or breaking the law.” You know it’s pointless to try and talk your way out of this. His whole job is to hunt down and kill Jedi, he’s not going to listen to you.
He just laughs, “You’re a traitorous Jedi.” He says it as if he’s bemused as to why you would believe such a thing, after all, the Empire told everyone that the Jedi were traitors to the Republic. He tosses his helmet to the ground and its thud reverberates throughout the street as he hits a switch on his saber and another blade emerges. He smirks and darts forward, starting another flurry of attacks. You block each one and flip over him, striking him from behind, but he swings his weapon behind him and turns to face you once more. “You scared?”
You scowl at him, “No.” You strike again, pushing your blade as hard as you can against him. You need to get out of here before more show up, or you will surely die here on this planet. He is proficient with a double blade and doesn’t let up, it’s as if he has all of the strength in the world and doesn’t falter when you attack back. It’s frustrating, but understandable. He has been hunting down Jedi and killing them for what you assume is years, and you’ve been hiding your capabilities to not be caught.Â
You glance over your shoulder and spot the blaster on the ground next to the Rodians and an idea pops into your head. Without warning, you dart away and sprint towards the weapon on the ground. Using a blaster as a jedi, some would say, is uncivilized and undignified, but you have to do what you can to survive. The inquisitor behind you throws his saber and it twirls in the air heading straight towards you, but you jump and roll out of the way picking up the blaster.Â
With his hand outstretched, he pulls his hand into a fist and his lightsaber whirls back to him. You shoot at him a second before it reaches him and the bolt grazes his shoulder, causing him to yell out in pain. You don’t hesitate or gloat, instead you sprint again in the direction of your ship. If you can hold him back with the blaster long enough, you can get the hell out of here.
He runs after you shouting that you have nowhere to go and nowhere to hide, but you don’t stop. You enter that long hallway shooting behind you as you go, not even bothering to aim at all. When you enter the hangar bay, you scoop up the fuel you left behind not bothering to attempt to fuel up your ship and sprint up the ramp, shooting behind you just to slow him down. But when you enter your ship to hurry and close the door, you find a stranger fiddling with your things. You don’t have time to question who this person is, so you hit the switch next to the door and the ramp contracts, going back into the ship.
The inquisitor runs for the opening, but you fire shot after shot just until the door closes. The last you see of the man is his dark eyes staring into you with a promise and vendetta. You square your shoulders and tilt your chin up, giving him a victorious smile as the door latches and hisses shut. You don’t waste time however, you pass the stranger who is deeply interested in your Holotable and jump into the captain’s chair. “Sit down now.” Your voice is stern and authoritative as you use the Force to push him back onto the chair, keeping him there.
You start the engines as a loud thump hits the side of your ship. If that Inquisitor damages your ship, you’re going to drag him up into the atmosphere and drop him. The ship lifts and you whizz out of the hangar, whipping around the corner and climbing up and up and up until you're at the top. You don’t stop at all, you head straight up, cutting off speeders from their regular traffic. All you can focus on right now is how you were caught by an Inquisitor. Now that he’s seen your face, he’s not going to give up looking for you until you’re dead. You frown and clench the wheel, pushing your ship up and up until you’re finally off of the planet.
In a flash, you set coordinates for a distant planet and flip it to autopilot. You turn back to the stranger on your couch who you still hold with the Force, “Who are you?” You hover over them with distrust written all over your face.
The man just stares at you inquisitively, his hands resting on his armored lap in a relaxed manner, “I saw what you did back there.” You tense and reach to rest your hand over your lightsaber on your belt, a clear warning. “Relax, I’m here to help.”
“Who are you?” There’s an edge to your tone.
He just sighs, “I’m just someone who wants to see the day when the Empire falls.” What he says doesn’t comfort you at all, you don’t know this person and you can’t trust anybody. He just looks up at you with one corner of his mouth hiked up, “I’m a bounty hunter.”Â
In a flash, you take your saber out and put it to his neck, “Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t kill you right now.”
He glances at the blade perilously close to his skin and back to you as if it doesn’t bother him at all, “Because I can help you get that Inquisitor off of your back, and I can get you to the Hidden Path.” Your eyebrows furrow in confusion, he doesn’t make any sense at all. You’ve heard whispers about the Hidden Path that hides away Jedi in need of a safe place, but you’ve always thought it was just that, a rumor, a myth.
“And why would you do that? You’re a bounty hunter.” You let the blade get too close to his skin and he jerks back in pain, but he still can’t move. “What’s in this for you?”
He just chuckles, “As I said, I want to see the Empire fall. Every act of rebellion helps the cause.” You don’t believe him for one second. Bounty Hunters have no real alliances or connections, all they care about is profit no matter where it comes from. “Let’s just say I have personal reasons as to why I hate the Empire.” His stare is intense but you don’t waver.
“And what are those reasons?”
He huffs and tries to shift in his seat, but you push harder knocking him back with a thud, “You really don’t have to do that. You already have that lightsaber at my neck, you don’t have to use the Force on me.” Nope, you’re not risking it. “It seems we’re at an impasse here.”
“So it would seem.”
The space between you is silent besides the thrum of your weapon. He stares at you as if he’s studying you, seeing what he can use for his advantage. You let the blade get close again, indicating for him to tell you everything you want to know with just this movement. His throat bobs, “Fine, you want a reason?” His eyes reflect the blue glow as he stares at you, “I want to see the Empire pay. I want to watch their regime burn to the ground and I don’t care what I have to do to get that.”
You scoff at him, “Do you really think that has convinced me? How dumb do you think I am?”
“Let me tell you this, do you know who that Inquisitor was?” There’s a small smirk on his face, “Do you know what they call him?” No, you don’t know who he is and you don’t see why knowing that information will help you at all. “They call him The Ripper.” You furrow your eyebrows at that. The Ripper? You’ve heard of that name but you never delved into figuring out what it was. He sees the look on your face and one corner of his mouth raises, “The Ripper title was given to him by the people discovering the bodies he left behind.” A chill goes up your spine at that. “He will find you, and he will kill you. It’s just a matter of time.”
Your lip curls in anger and you fight the urge to just end him now, “I’m going to ask you one more time, and if you aren’t honest with me, I’m going to kill you.” A knowing flickers through his eyes as he observes you, differently this time and you don’t like it one bit. It’s as if he’s seeing all of you and it makes you incredibly uncomfortable. You let that sink in for him before continuing, “What is in this for you?”
Finally for the first time since finding him on your ship, you see conflict in his features. A deep crease forms in between his eyebrows as he exhales long and hard, “I’m not lying to you Jedi, I want to see the Empire fall. I need it. It’s a part of me as much as the Force is a part of you.” He swallows thickly, “If I tell you this, you can’t tell anyone.” His request is odd to you, but you don’t say anything to him to ease his worries. “They took someone very important to me.” His voice almost croaks and you’re surprised. “They took them and I have no idea where they are. I’m a fucking Bounty Hunter and I can’t find them for fucks sake! So that’s why I’m here and that’s why I need your help.”
You don’t know what to say. On one hand, you’re surprised by his confession and on the other you’re still wary and distrusting that he’s actually telling you the truth. “Why me? Why do you need my help? I’m sure there are other people in the Galaxy more equipped than I am to help you.”
“You’re alone, and you are also in need of help given that you have that Inquisitor hellbent to catch you and kill you.” His words hit you like a brick wall. You are alone, you have been ever since that fateful day many years ago. “Let’s face it Jedi, we both need each other.”
You glance at the blue blade, watching it vibrate and hum that low melody that you love. If you trust this man, you are risking everything. Then again, he seems to know quite a bit about the Empire and that Inquisitor chasing after you. You think about his offer about the Hidden Path and wonder if that’s a true thing. If you make it there and find someone willing to help you, you wouldn’t have to be alone anymore and you’d be safe. You long to have companionship and respite from constantly being on the run. If you can have this man do that for you, you think you can manage being around him as long as he’s unarmed. If what he’s saying is true about someone important to him being taken, then he will only be focused on getting them back.
He watches you with a look you can’t decipher until you sigh and flip your saber off and put it back on your belt. His eyes widen slightly as you let him go with the Force and take both of his blasters, putting them across the room before you take a step back, “If we are truly going to work together, I need assurance that no harm will come to me.”
He looks annoyed that you've taken his weapons, but he doesn't move to go pick them up, “We can sign a contract if that’d make you feel better.” He says and you can’t help but let out a small laugh. He frowns, clearly knowing exactly what you’re thinking about. Bounty Hunters don’t adhere to contracts, only credits. Sure, they have unwritten rules but most just follow where the money is. “I’m serious about getting them back. It doesn’t matter that I’m a bounty hunter, I will get them back. I can sign any contract you throw at me and I assure you that no harm will come to you while we are working together.”
You eye him for a long moment, “Fine. But if you breach the contract in any way, you have to pay me.” He frowns at this, clearly not liking your terms, but he nods and agrees.
“Since we’re working together, might as well know your name.” He rolls his achy shoulders from you holding him down for so long. You don’t say anything and he sighs, offering up his name first, “My name is Hongjoong.”

Chapter 1
The whirr of the ship is almost like white noise to you as you work. Your red R5 unit sits in the corner watching intently as you tinker with machinery. When you connect a piece, it sparks and shocks your hand with a zap that makes your hand seize, “Ow! Damn it!” You toss it down on your workbench and lean back on your chair, draping your hands over your eyes.
R5 comes close to you and beeps a sentence and you take your hands off of your face, “Don’t worry R5, we’ll be fine. I’m fine.” He chirps again, clearly not convinced by your delivery. “I’m fine! Don’t worry about me.” You push off from your chair and head to the cockpit of your stolen ship, flipping off the autopilot and plopping down in the captain’s chair. You don’t really know where you’re going, you don’t have any place you can call home anymore after… You don’t like to think about the past or what happened before, there’s no changing it so you just have to live with it.Â
You need to choose a planet to land soon or else you’ll run out of fuel. Just the thought of stealing more fuel makes your mood already worse and you huff out an agitated breath. You can’t buy any because it’s too expensive to fill up the tank, and you don’t have enough credits. Looking down at the monitor, the closest planet to you is Coruscant and your stomach flips at the mention of it. You don’t want to go there ever again, but you also don’t want your ship to be stranded in space. R5 rolls up to you and looks at the planet on the monitor, beeping. “I know it’s not a smart choice to go back there, but what options do we have? You can survive out in space on a dead ship, but I can’t.”
He just makes a buzzing noise and tramps off, leaving you to figure out what you’re going to do. The only company you have is R5 and you’re sure that you would’ve gone insane if he wasn’t here. When you stole this ship from a shipyard a long time ago, you found R5 already in here powered down. You booted him up and found that his memory was recently wiped. You thought that it was odd, but after you stole the ship he quickly became your companion.Â
There’s nowhere else to go besides Coruscant, so you turn towards it and enter its atmosphere.
You decide to land in an inconspicuous hangar on a lower level that’s practically empty. Before you even open the doors to go outside, you throw on your robe and pull up the hood to conceal your face. You don’t know if you’ll run into anyone that would recognize you, then again, most of the people you did know are either dead, in hiding, or are working for the Empire now. Even so, it’s never too bad to be careful.
Descending down the small ramp, you swivel your head side to side making sure that no one is around. There are other ships parked here, but you can only see droids working tirelessly by keeping the hangar clean and operable. You spot a ship on the far end of the hangar that is the same model as yours and walk towards it, keeping your head low. You’ll siphon the fuel and get out of here as fast as possible and leave this haunted planet in the dust.Â
It takes too long to get the fuel out of the ship and your anxiety is skyrocketing. Much to your disappointment though, it seems that whoever owns this ship didn’t refuel when they got here. When you’re sure that you have it all, you begin to walk back to your ship, but you spot two Rodians entering the hangar bay, chatting amongst themselves with blasters strapped to their legs. You immediately squat and get out of sight, hiding behind a stack of merchandise and curse to yourself. You need to get out of here and fast. If you’re caught stealing fuel you’ll have local law enforcement on your ass and maybe Storm Troopers if it gets that bad.
As they get closer, you dart behind other boxes and ships until you're a few feet away from your ship. By some sort of twist of fate, they stop at the ship you just stole from. Their body language changes as they notice the subtle changes to their ship even though you did your best to not make it obvious. One starts to speak and you can only make out the words, “thief,” and “fuel.” It’s been a long time since you’ve interacted with the language Rodese and you’ve become rusty. The one on the right with blue skin whips around searching for anyone, but you’re hidden quite well. The other with orange skin mutters something about walking and you curse to yourself again. There is no way you’re making it back to your ship without them noticing you. If you make a break for it, they’ll fire at you and law enforcement will be notified that you stole from them. They’ll chase you down while you’re still in their atmosphere and you can’t take that chance of being captured.Â
Instead, you stuff the fuel behind some dusty crates and make your way to the exit of the hangar. If you can lead them away or distract them, maybe they’ll leave? They split up and take out their blasters, searching every inch for the culprit. You make it to the entrance and see that it’s a long hallway with multiple doors, you glance down at the end and find that it goes to the right and to the left. You don’t know where either hallway goes, but if you can get them down here and knock them out, you’ll be able to leave without anyone noticing.Â
You take a deep breath and glance back at the hangar, “Hey!” The Rodians immediately turn their focus on you and raise their blasters. One shouts out something about who you are and the other just cuts him off with a string of words, the only ones you can catch, “You did this.” You don’t stick around, instead you take off down the hallway and the Rodians run after you, shooting their blasters. The beams dance around you and you pray that none hit you. When you reach the end, you whip your head back and forth and decide to take the left hallway.
The Rodians shout curses at you and promises of death, but you continue to run until you push past a door and enter a bustling city street. Multicolored lights shine down on the dirty street almost as bright as the sun if you could see it. The smell of cooking street food and people hit you like a truck, but you continue to run, pushing past people and vendors. The Rodians stop shooting as soon as they exit the door, but they pursue you with vengeance in their eyes. You just need to lose them and then you can go back.
You take a right down another street and left into an alleyway, jumping over trash canisters and sleeping people. The orange one spots you and chases after you, waving the other to follow. As soon as you exit the alleyway, you take another right and hide behind a stall with a man selling food. He yells at you, “Hey get out of here!”
You squat behind the table and look up at him, “Please sir, some men are chasing me and I don’t feel safe.”
He looks at you with his lip curled, “Can’t you go someplace else? I don’t want any part of it.”
You resist the urge to frown at him. You can’t tell him to let you stay here, so you dig your hand in one of your pockets and dump some credits in his palm, “Just long enough for them to pass.” He glances at it and nods. As soon as he turns back to the frying food, thunderous footsteps sound on the pavement. You hear one say, “Where,” and “Lost,” and the angered growl of the other. They want you in the ground, but you’re not going to let them get to you. You know that you can take them, but you can’t risk it.
As soon as you hear them run away, you get up and leave, running back to your ship. If you can make it back to the hanger before them you’ll be able to get off of this planet without a fuss. But something feels off, you suddenly feel an awareness that wasn’t there before. You slow your pace and glance around, but you don’t see anyone or anything out of the ordinary. You shake that feeling off, but it’s still there like a heavy fog surrounding you.Â
You pick your pace back up and enter the bustling street once more. When you’re halfway down the street a warning feeling shoots up your spine and you whip around just in time to see the blue Rodian firing his blaster directly at you. There’s no time to move out of the way and you know that it’s a death wish, but you have to do it anyway. You lift your hand and force push the blaster bolt away from you, directing it back to the blue one. The bolt connects and he falls to the ground with a thud, an glowing orange ring on the center of his forehead. People all around you scream and run away with terrified faces. A sick feeling overwhelms you and you know that you’re screwed.
The orange Rodian enters the street and sees his friend lying dead on the ground. You take a step backwards, but his gaze focuses on you and he raises his blaster. You raise both hands, “Please don’t make me do this.”Â
He just shouts a sentence filled with, “Kill,” and “You.” That’s all the warning you get before he fires his blaster. You once again push it back to him and you swear that you see surprise in his eyes before he falls dead on top of his friend.Â
You didn’t want to do that. Looking around, you find that no one is left on the street, tables are flipped over and garbage is thrown about as people dropped everything and ran. Everyone saw what you did and you know that people are going to come after you. You exhale harshly and approach the dead bodies. Squatting down, you pat their pockets and take out any credits you find. You don’t have a job, so stealing is just what you have to do now even though it goes against everything you were taught.Â
That feeling comes back, but it’s stronger, almost overwhelming and it takes the breath right out of your lungs. You haven’t sensed this in a very long time and you know that it’s time to go. Getting up, you stuff the credits into your pocket and turn, only to find a lone figure dressed in black staring at you.
The figure doesn’t move as you tense. You can’t see who this person is due to their black helmet, the only color on their whole outfit is a glowing red stripe over their eyes. You drop one hand to your side, hovering it over your belt.
With a deep distorted voice, the figure bellows, “Jedi.”

Your eyes narrow, "You don't even know me or what I'm capable of."
A smirk shows on his lips, "Oh I know what you're capable of, Jedi."

Chapter 10
After arguing for half of the night, Yunho has convinced you to search for Mingi at first light. You still don’t like it, but he tells you over and over again how he’ll find him no matter what. Just the thought of Mingi travelling farther and farther away from you makes you sick with worry that you’ll never see him again. Although, you trust that Yunho will follow through on his promise.
You rest your head on Yunho’s chest as you trail your fingers up and down his stomach. He hums pleasantly and runs his hand across your back and every so often kisses the top of your head. Being in his arms feels right, like this is where you belong. After not being able to touch him for so long, you don’t ever want to let him go.Â
The moonlight filters through the honeycomb wall, creating just enough light to see. He kisses your head once more, “Get some sleep my love.”
“Don’t go anywhere.” You nuzzle your cheek into his chest.Â
He chuckles, “I’m not leaving your side for anything, don’t you worry. Now sleep. I’ll wake you up when it’s time to go.” Even though you want to stay up to savor each moment in his arms, you know that he’s right. With one last glance up at him, you close your eyes and settle in for the night.
Just as he promised, he wakes you up just as the sun begins to rise over the horizon. He kisses you awake and you grab onto him as you melt into him. When he leans back to look into your eyes, he smiles, “Goodmorning beautiful.”
“Goodmorning.” You flip to your back and stretch your arms over your head.
He watches you with such love in his eyes, “I’ll go get you some breakfast.” He begins to get up, but you grab onto his forearm and he chuckles, “I won’t go far, but you need to eat before we head out.” You nod, chewing on your bottom lip and let go, but before he moves to get up, he kisses you once more.Â
You watch him go and settle back down in your bed. Now that he’s gone, you finally think about what transpired last night. Smiling to yourself, you replay every moment last night with him and sigh contently.
He comes back with two shells filled with fruits and you spend time chatting about your plan and eating. He tells you that he’ll be able to find Mingi, but you have to trust him and be patient. He tells you that finding him will probably take the majority of the day and you hate that. When you’re done with your meal, you get ready for the day and put on some men’s pants and a white blouse. It’s big, but you’d rather deal with ill-fitting clothes than wind blowing your dress up as you ride the dragon.
After preparing a small bag with fruit and some items, you walk to the main cavern with Yunho. He has your hand firmly clasped in his and you can’t help the smile on your face.Â
The cavern has a chill to it and you suspect that has to do with the grey clouds covering the sun. He stops and turns to look at you, noticing that you are not wearing anything warm and frowns. Before you can protest though, he’s off running in the direction of your cave and you lean up against the altar to wait for him. It doesn’t take him long to come back with a thick blanket and you can’t help but love him more. He wraps you up and leads you to the edge, “You need to hold on, okay? It’s windy up there and I’ll be moving a lot, so you have to hold on.” The worry on his face is evident.
You reach up and cup his cheek, “I’ll hold on, and even if I fall, you’ll catch me. I trust you.”
That doesn’t seem to help his worry at all, “Y/N, I’m serious. I can’t worry about you and track Mingi down at the same time.”
Rising onto your toes, you kiss him and you feel him melt into it. “I’ll be okay, Yunho. It’s not the first time for me to fly.”
“Yeah, but you were in my claws. This’ll be different.”
“I’ll hold on. If I feel like I’m falling, I’ll tap on your neck three times, okay?”
He nods and kisses you one last time. It’s long and tender, as if he wants to savor it before not being able to hold you as a human for the whole day. When he leans back, he takes a few steps away from you and shifts. You feel no fear as you watch the light fade and the dragon emerge. He looks over to you and takes a few steps towards the edge before laying completely down so you can get on easily. You make your way over to him and place your hand on his scaly neck, “You’re beautiful.”
He chuffs and nudges you with his nose for you to get on and you nod, chuckling. It’s not hard to climb up, much to your surprise, and you settle down at the base of his neck. With nothing to hold onto though, you scoot up and grab onto his horns for support. He doesn’t move an inch till you tell him that you are okay, and you steady your breathing as he walks closer to the edge.
The moment he lifts off, you feel amazing. It’s different than being in his claws while pain surged through your sides. Now, it seems like you are the one who is flying. The ascent is difficult for you to hold on, but Yunho flies carefully till you fly higher than the clouds and levels out. When you breach the grey clouds though, it’s like the world opens up. The sun beams down on you and creates a beautiful sea of sun-kissed clouds that you want to run your fingers in. A smile blooms on your face at the sight, and Yunho must feel your happiness because he makes a low pitched sound that resembles a pleased hum.
You don’t even notice the chill up here until the shock of how beautiful the scenery wears off. When you feel it settle on your skin, you become very grateful that Yunho brought you a thick blanket.Â
Yunho makes a noise in warning and you hold on tighter as he veers to the right hard and dips down just enough so he can see beneath the clouds. You watch him curiously, wondering how he’s tracking Mingi when there’s nothing to track. You’re still learning all there is to Yunho and Mingi and their abilities, but you’re sure that you’ll completely understand one day.
The day is long as you ride. Yunho changes direction every so often, veering to the right or to the left and you have no idea where you are going. You’ve watched the sun move in the sky until it dips below the clouds and you’re becoming restless. After so long, your ass has become numb and the constant wind on your face has made your skin almost raw. However, you can’t complain at all because you’re with him, you’re touching him- That’s all that matters now.
Yunho makes another warning grumble and you hold on tighter. He doesn’t change directions like you expect him to, instead he starts to descend into the clouds below. When you emerge, you see that he’s headed to another island. It doesn't look anything like Yunho’s island, but a small stretch of land covered in thick trees. It’s hard to see due to the dying light, but you see one fire on the far end and that fills you with hope.Â
He sets down as gently as he can and you slide off of him, keeping the blanket securely wrapped around you. Before he can shift though, you set off in a sprint to the fire. You have to see if Mingi is here, one more second of wondering will surely kill you. Yunho is hot on your tail and yells for you to wait, but you don’t listen to him at all. You hop over fallen trees and weave around bushes in your way, not caring that you can’t really see.
When you reach the clearing, you see a lone figure sitting away from you on the beach staring out at the rolling waves. The flickering flames behind him light up his toned back and white hair, and relief floods through you. You race towards him and he stands, turning to face the incoming footsteps and his face morphs from surprise to immense love and happiness. You don’t stop when you run past the fire and you don’t stop to stand in front of him. The closer you get to him, he becomes more concerned and begins to back away, “Y/N, you’re getting too-”
You cut him off by leaping into his arms, pressing your body up against his and kissing him, allowing the blanket to fall to the ground. He freezes in place and tenses, and you can feel him begin to shift. Between kisses you say, “I love you. I love you Mingi, more than anything.”
A guttural noise comes from him and you’re not sure if it’s from him or the dragon fighting to come out. His lips feel soft on your own and his skin feels like fire. You know that he has no idea what you are doing but you have to show him how much you care for him. He groans again and backs away, his eyes a flaming red as he trembles, the red light in his chest growing brighter with each second, “Run Y/N! I don’t want to hurt you1 Run and hide!” His panicked eyes flick to the fire and you know that Yunho is right there.
“I’m not going anywhere Mingi.” You smile at him as he backs farther away. Yunho quickly comes by your side and reaches for your hand, interlacing your fingers. Even if Mingi transforms, Yunho will stop him from hurting you. Just the sight of that has Mingi flabbergasted, his mouth hangs open in shock while his red eyes stare at your conjoined hands. It’s as if the dragon warring inside of him doesn’t know what to do and he freezes in place. His body trembles with the extreme amount of energy pulsing in him and all you want to do is reach out and comfort him.Â
In a deeper voice than you’ve ever heard before he says, “How? How can you touch?”
Yunho answers first, “It’s like the drive, the need to finish the ritual vanishes in an instant, but you have to let it. It feels like you’re being burnt alive to let it go, but you can. You can choose it, you can choose her. You don’t have to comply to the needs of our ancestor dragons, we can choose our own path now.”
You take a step forward and Yunho keeps his hand firmly clasped in yours as you tentatively reach out and cup Mingi’s cheek. He lets out a sharp gasp and his eyes meet yours as you whisper, “Be with me. I want to live the rest of our lives together.”
He lets out an easy laugh, “As if it’s a choice.” His red eyes flicker and then returns to his regular dark brown that you could get lost in, “I wouldn’t want anything else Y/N. I’ve wanted you for a long time but I was too afraid to do anything about it. I couldn’t let myself believe that I could live my life with you because I was afraid of what the dragon could do to you.” His eyes flick to your conjoined hands with Yunho and back to you, “Seeing that it’s possible, I don’t want to be afraid anymore, I want you.” A handsome smile blooms on his face, “I love you Y/N.”
“I love you too.” You lean forward and kiss him again and you can still feel how confused he is about what you are doing. He does his best to copy what you are doing but is sloppy. You lean back and smile at him, “I’m so happy we found you. I was so afraid that I’d never see you again.”
His brows furrow and he reaches for your other hand, “I never should have left, I’m so sorry.”
Yunho makes a noise beside you and you take a step to the side to look at him. He has a guilty look on him and you immediately know something is up. He rubs the back of his neck, “You don’t need to take the blame Mingi.” He lets out a breath and lets his hand drop to his side, “He didn’t leave on his own volition, I made him leave.”
You take your hand from his, “You what?”
Mingi puts a hand up to ease the growing tension, “There’s no need to get angry about this, it’s all in the past now.”
“That’s not the point, Yunho, you kept this from me.”
He nods and chews on the dead skin on his bottom lip, “I did, and I’m sorry about that. I’m sorry for a lot of things actually. For one, I never should have told you to leave Mingi, you’re my greatest friend and I shouldn’t have let my emotions cloud my judgement. And I shouldn’t have kept that fact from you Y/N, you deserve to know everything.”
Mingi disregards everything that Yunho said and gathers him in a hug, “Stop being so glum. We need to celebrate!”
You watch with your arms folded over your chest and you can’t help but let all of those negative feelings fade. There’s no need to stew on the past, you’re all together now, that’s all that matters. Mingi lets Yunho go with a pat on the back, and they both turn to you. Before you can say anything else though, your stomach growls fiercely and you sigh. Both men’s mood changes immediately and Mingi turns to Yunho, “Let’s go fish.”
They leave you by the fire to go get dinner. You’re not too pleased not being around them, but the promise of a hot meal will suffice. They disappear as they walk down the beach, Mingi saying there are calmer waters over there and you debate on following them, but you know that they’ll bring you right back, telling you that you need to stay warm by the fire. While you wait, you think about what this means for your future. You’ll live with them on the island, making it your home in all aspects. You expect Mingi and Yunho to move into your cave, you don’t want to sleep alone anymore if you can help it. What will your life look like now with them? Heat blooms on your face as you think about what you’ll do with them and you squirm in your seat.
Even though it feels like forever since they left to get you food, you’re sure that it’s only been ten minutes at most. When they return, they have two coconuts and one fish, and you can see that they aren’t particularly happy with the results. They plop down beside you and get to work preparing the meal and you notice Mingi continuously sneaking glances at you. There’s a deep flush on his cheeks each time he does, and you find it to be incredibly cute.Â
“Were the fish not cooperating today?” You smile.
Yunho shoots you a look and lets out a breathy laugh, “Hard to fish when we don’t have any spears. Had to catch it with our hands, in the dark mind you.”
You hum and lean back onto your hands while staring at the flickering flames. There’s a cracking noise beside you, but before you look over, Mingi has put one half of the coconut in your lap. You shoot him a grateful glance and take a sip of the water and try to pass it back to him but he shakes his head.
Dinner is quieter than you expected. There’s an energy surrounding you three and you haven’t been able to name why that is. Yunho and Mingi seem to be silently communicating with each other as you take bites from the cooked fish. You’re curious as to what they’re keeping from you, but you don’t ask while you eat.
When you’re done, you take one last swig of coconut water and stand up, heading to the shore to watch the waves. The moonlight hits the water beautifully while the bright stars in the sky twinkle. You don’t have to look beside you to know that Mingi has followed you because he hums and scoots close to you. “You know, “ He starts, “I never thought that my life would end up like this. I thought I’d live life on my island with my Father. I was content with that, and when I lost that, I never thought I’d have happiness again. When I met Yunho, he became the only person I cared about, and yet I was still afraid that I’d end up losing him too.” He turns to face you, his eyes warm and sincere, “But when I met you, those fears hit me head on. To think that I could be the one to kill you? I couldn’t handle it. I couldn't allow myself to fully let you in even though I was lying to myself.” He reaches out tentatively and takes both of your hands in his, “I have loved you for a long time Y/N, and I don’t want to be afraid anymore.”
Warmth builds in your chest as you gaze into his eyes, “I love you so much.”
He bends and presses his lips to yours gently, he’s still unpracticed but you love it nonetheless. You let go of his hands to hold his toned waist as he cups your face, pulling you closer to him. Each press is exploratory, and you can feel the need wafting off of him like a growing flame. It’s as if he wants to savor every kiss, every touch, every moment with you to the fullest. You open your mouth wider and deepen the kiss causing him to shiver against you. Dragging your hands up his stomach, you purposefully make it so it drives him insane.Â
He groans against your mouth, “I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of you.”
You kiss the corner of his mouth and then kiss the length of his neck, paying attention to his body language and sounds. When you kiss the spot just below his jaw, he lets out a breathy moan and grips you tighter. You hum victoriously and give that spot all of your attention.Â
His hands travel down to your ass, and he gives you an experimental squeeze before pulling one of your legs up. You lean back to look into his eyes and give him an amorous smile as he picks you up, wrapping your legs around his hips. In this position, you can feel practically everything, and you hate that your pants are blocking the way.
He takes you back to the fire and sets you down on your blanket as gently as possible before settling above you. He knocks your knees apart and sits back onto his heels to look at you, “You’re so beautiful.” His hands trail up your legs, and you watch with bated breaths, seeing if he’ll touch you where you most want him to. Instead, he stops on your thighs and smirks, “Can I pleasure you?”
“You don’t even have to ask.” You reach for the button on your pants, but he moves your hands away and kisses your palm.Â
“No, let me.” His fingers easily unbutton your pants, and you lift up your hips to allow him to pull them off. He deliberately goes slow, allowing his fingers to drag down your legs and you are aching with need. The touch of his fingers leaves fire on your skin, leaving you breathless and needy. With one last tug, he pulls them off of you and tosses them to the side before sliding his hands all the way up your legs. You open your legs wider for him to see and you watch as his eyes flare red. He reaches in between your legs and finally touches you, making you release a strangled breath and grip the blanket beneath you. He explores you with the tips of his fingers, mapping you out while watching your face intently. When he finds your clit and you buck against him, and he smirks.
“Where did you learn that?” You whimper.
He continues to work your clit and answers you with a deeper voice, “When we went fishing, Yunho told me everything I needed to know.” You should have known that, of course Yunho would teach him. Now that you’re thinking about him though, you notice that he’s nowhere near you. Mingi sees the question in your eyes, “He took a walk to give us some privacy.” He circles your clit again and you choke out a moan. “I wanted you for myself the first time I touch you.”
The sound of the waves mix with your lurid moans as you grip the blanket beneath you. He moves to your entrance and slowly inserts a finger, watching your face for any discomfort. In reality, you ache for more. You want all of him, but he’s content to take his sweet time with you. He pumps his finger in and out of you and you can see how much he loves this. “Curl your finger a little bit.” You writhe against him.
He complies immediately, inserting another finger and finds that spot inside of you that makes you see stars. His red eyes watch you hungrily and you can’t get enough of him. He sees that you need more, so he adjusts his hand so he can circle your clit with his thumb. You arch your back with this overwhelming sensation and cry out, letting the pleasure take you. Each pump of his fingers, every circle sends you higher and higher, till you’re not sure that you’re on the ground anymore.Â
When you climax, he makes a noise of approval and watches you with a satisfied smirk on his face. While you heave for air, he brings his fingers to his mouth and sucks the remnants of you off of him. Just the sight of him doing that makes you flutter around nothing and you can’t handle it anymore.Â
Sitting up, you flip him on his back and straddle his hips. He makes a shocked noise, but as soon as he sees you hovering above him, he pulls you down to kiss you hungrily. It’s frantic and ravenous, like you both can’t hold back anymore. You start to grind on him and the choked moan that comes out of his lips is the best thing you’ve heard.Â
Sitting back, you reach for his loincloth and purposefully drag your fingers over his hot skin, just like he did to you before. His stomach twitches and he closes his eyes, “Do you enjoy teasing me this much?”
“Oh, but you did it to me. Fair is fair.” You scoot back slightly and lean down to kiss his stomach. He groans while his hips move on their own and you love it. You lick a stripe from his navel up to his sternum while grinding down on his bulge, knowing that he’s on the brink of exploding. When he’s needy and writhing beneath you, you finally take off his loincloth and toss it to the side. You pause and look up at him, seeing how desperate he is to orgasm, and you give in. Sitting higher on your knees, you line yourself up and sink down, keeping your eyes locked on his. He chokes out a moan as soon as you sink down and rolls his eyes back in intense pleasure.Â
His hands find purchase on your hips as soon as he is fully inside of you, his fingers digging into your flesh. Your chest heaves as you hold onto his chest to balance, your fingernails pressing into him. “Can I move?” You huff out and he is quick to nod, practically begging for you to continue.Â
You go slow at first, purposefully taking your time to sink back down and grind your clit on his pelvic bone. He tries his best to remain still so you can go at your own pace, but you can see that he’s barely holding it together. A sheen of sweat covers you, but the slight breeze keeps you from overheating. When you sink back down, he finally whimpers out, “You’re killing me Y/N.”
“Then do something about it.”
Fire shines in his eyes as he accepts your challenge and flips you on your back. He wastes no time thrusting into you hard and fast, keeping his crimson eyes on you. You wrap your legs around his hips and grip his forearms on either side of your head, giving into the pleasure. You can’t help the high-pitched moans coming from your mouth, but that seems to goad him on more.Â
When you close your eyes unconsciously, he growls, “Open your eyes. Look at me.”Â
You comply and grip his forearms tighter, “Mingi-”
He thrusts again and cuts you off causing you to whimper. Heat builds in your core while your legs seem to squeeze his hips on their own. “You feel amazing.” His voice is almost inhumanly deep, “I don’t ever want to stop. Fuck-”
The heat builds and builds until you finally explode with a sharp moan. Your hearing muffles for a few moments while your entire body feels like putty. Mingi climaxes quickly after you due to your relentless squeezing and drops down on you, resting his head on your chest. He trembles against you and reaches for your hand, “You are…” He exhales a long breath and brings your hand to his mouth, kissing you reverently, “There is no amount of words to describe how perfect you are.”
Your heart melts and you reach to thread your fingers through his white hair, “I could say the same about you.”
He chuckles, the vibrations of it hitting your stomach, “I’m hardly perfect, but you make me a better man. I’m eternally grateful that fate brought us together, because now I can’t imagine my life without you.”
The pleasant sigh that escapes his lips while you massage his scalp is music to your ears.Â
You spend a long time in each other's arms talking about your future or mundane things. The conversation never feels forced or awkward even when it lulls as you relax over the soft sand. After a while though, the breeze on your bare legs begins to be too much. Mingi sits back up and sits on his heels looking down at you, his eyes now his normal brown. He hums at the sight of the mess in between your legs and gets up to gather things to clean you up. You don’t bother getting up with him, even now your limbs feel lax and heavy, and it would be too much effort to try.Â
To your left, you hear the crunching of broken branches on the ground and see that it’s Yunho. He looks flustered and disheveled but tries to hide it with a confident stride. He makes his way over to you and plops down, allowing for you to place your head in his lap. He smiles down at you, “Hey beautiful.”
“Where’d you go?”
He swallows, “Um, just went on a walk.” A red blush blooms on his cheeks, reaching the tips of his ears. You know that he must have heard what happened, and you find that it’s cute that he’s so flustered.Â
Mingi returns with some water in the coconut shell and places it near your feet before tearing a scrap off of the blanket. He pays no mind to Yunho as he cleans you up and you squirm, feeling over sensitive. When he’s satisfied that you are clean, he tosses the rag and coconut shell to the side and tucks the blanket around you. He glances at Yunho and smirks, sharing a knowing look before laying on your right side. He turns to face you and drapes an arm around your waist while nuzzling his face in the crook of your neck.
Yunho gets the hint and carefully scoots out from under you and takes the place to your left. The warmth radiating off of them is intoxicating and it feels like you don’t even need the blanket. The immense feeling of safety surrounds you, and you’ve never felt anything like this before. Yes, you had your Mother growing up that provided you safety, but you had to rely on yourself when she got sick. You barely remember the years where you didn’t have to worry about surviving, all while making sure that she was well taken care of. Now though, you don’t have to look out for yourself anymore- You have Yunho and Mingi. They’ve made it perfectly clear that you are the most important person to them and that they’d protect you from anything that would harm you. For as long as you can remember, you’ve had to be hypervigilant and responsible, too mature for what a child should have been. Now you can just be.
Yunho drapes a leg over yours and holds your hand against his chest. His strong heartbeat pounds pleasantly against your skin as Mingi scoots impossibly closer to you. There’s no inch of skin of you that isn’t pressed against them, and you wouldn’t have it any other way. In the matter of minutes, sleep calls you into its sweet embrace and you welcome it.
Summary: You don’t have a choice when you are forced to do the ritual to appease the dragon that has plagued your village for centuries. Chapter 9
Being on the water is agony. The constant sound of the wind hitting the sail as well as the water hitting the sides of the raft are not comforting in the slightest. There’s a chill to the wind that bites at your skin uncomfortably but the worst part is the feeling of an electrical charge in the air. The sun is clouded by the dark clouds as well as the dense fog surrounding you, but you can tell that a terrible storm is coming.
You feel numb now. It feels like you’ve been sailing for hours, but you can’t tell the time at all. The thick fog plays tricks with your mind and all you can think about is Yunho and Mingi. It’s as if the farther you get away from them, the more they consume you. You ache to go back to the island and live a life of peace and tranquility, but you know that that can never happen regardless. No matter how much you want to spend your life with Mingi and Yunho, you know that it’ll never work.
And that fact breaks your heart.
........
Mingi walks along the vertebrae, thinking about what he’s going to say to you. The waves crash against the rocks, the sound of it deafening with the incoming storm but all he can think about is you. His mind is completely consumed by the image of you dancing last night. The way you swayed and laughed, the way the sound of your sweet voice filled his ears while you sang- His entire being is solely transfixed on you. Somehow, you’ve become the very air he needs to breathe, and he doesn’t know what to do with himself. Every part of him aches to touch you, but he doesn’t dare. Not being able to touch you feels like torture and it’s driving him mad.
He walks with a happy gait up the path to the main cavern, a pleasant smile on his face. When he enters the cavern however, the thick feeling of tension stops him in his tracks. He spots Yunho sitting on the floor with his back up against the altar, his head in his hands. He shakes as if he’s crying and Mingi is immediately concerned. He walks carefully up to him and squats, “Are you alright?”
His question is answered with only silence and that concerns him even more. Yunho isn’t the type to cry like this at all. Mingi has only seen him cry only a handful of times, but Yunho has always hidden his feelings away. Maybe it’s the proud dragon in him? He reaches out and places a hand on the man’s shoulder, “What is it?”
Yunho lets out a ragged breath and finally looks up, his eyes red and swollen from crying. He tilts his head as he looks at Mingi and he can see the guilt embedded in his eyes. Mingi’s heart drops as he assumes the worst, “Is she dead?”
Yunho shakes his head profusely, “No, she’s alive.”
Mingi grits his teeth, his voice strained, “Did you hurt her?”
He opens his mouth to respond but only drops his head down, the tears falling onto the cold rock. Worry and anger pulse through Mingi as he imagines what could have happened. Are you okay? Did the dragon hurt you? “Yunho tell me right now what happened!”
He exhales again and wipes his face, “She left.”
“What?”
“She’s gone. She’s never coming back.”
He stands up and threads his fingers in his hair as he paces back and forth, all while Yunho sits motionless on the ground. “What did you do?”
“She was going to leave this entire time Mingi. She had a boat.”
He huffs an irritated breath, “Yes I know, but what did you do to drive her away!”
That makes Yunho take pause as he looks up, “What do you mean you knew?”
“She needed to feel like she was in control of something, so I helped her. I didn’t think that she’d actually do it.” He glares at Yunho, “Now, what the fuck did you do to drive her away!”
“You’re telling me you helped her?! Now she’s gone, Mingi! And she’s never coming back!” He stands up and pushes Mingi’s shoulder, “She’s gone!”
“It’s not my fault! Whatever you did drove her away so don’t blame me for your mistakes! If you couldn’t see that she wanted to leave, then you are blind.” Mingi can feel the dragon itching to come free, but he suppresses the pull to shift. His anger radiates off of him like a blazing flame.
“Go away.” Yunho’s eyes fill with a glowing red. “Leave, just as she did.”
Mingi’s mouth opens in shock, but he closes it and swallows thickly. “Is that what you truly want?“
“You helped her leave. You betrayed me.”
“I did no such thing and you know that. Fine-” He stands up straighter, heat radiating from within. “I’ll leave.” He starts to leave but stops at the entrance of the cavern and hesitates. After a few seconds of silence, he turns to face the person he’s known for most of his life- his best friend, and all he can feel is anger and sadness. There’s nothing more he can say to him. If Yunho truly believes that he betrayed him, then he doesn’t know Mingi at all. It hurts feeling like the person he’s known for most of his life, the boy who witnessed the worst parts of his life would throw him out like this.
Yunho stands by the altar, his eyes now a blazing red as if he’s on the brink of shifting, as he stares at Mingi. There’s anger there, but Mingi can see the sadness and hesitation. But Yunho doesn’t waver from his decision, he huffs out a breath and finally turns away, not even uttering a goodbye. Puffs of smoke billow from Mingi’s nose as he turns back around, “Goodbye.”Â
He lets the dragon consume him after fighting the urge to shift for so long. The shift is like an explosion. After so long, it feels like a release, but Mingi doesn’t like it at all. You are gone, and Yunho has cast him out. He has no home, and now he’s all alone in this world once again.
With one hard push, he lifts into the air and flies away.Â
........
You don’t know how long it’s been. It could be hours, or it could be days since leaving the island. The fog has yet to dissipate and you’re beginning to wonder if it has ever done so. You’re worried that you’re not going anywhere and moving in circles, but you just have to trust that the wind is taking you in the right direction. You’ve been following the Eastern wind, just like Mingi told you to and that fact makes you sad. Everything reminds you of them and it makes you sick.
It’s a surprise when the fog dissipates. It’s as if it ends completely, like a hard line and it’s a wonderment. You look back at it, seeing the fog almost swirl as it returns to normal and you are confused. Does this fog ever go away? Or is it something magical that is happening? You doubt you will ever get the answers, but it still makes you curious.Â
Far in the distance you can see a sliver of land, but you don’t feel relief or happiness. You feel empty, even though you know you should feel happy that you’ve found land again. You can’t find it within yourself to even pretend that you feel relief knowing that your village is not too far away. The thought of seeing them again isn’t appealing in the slightest, but you need more supplies. You don’t wish to see any of their faces after they offered you up without a second glance to the dragon. They knew that you would die, and they didn’t care. As long as it wasn’t them or their loved ones, they were fine with it.
The large wooden buildings of your village come into view and you steel your nerves. Men patrolling the walkways at the main entrance notice your little raft and alert others. You pretend that you are fine, and that you are confident, but inside you are screaming. Sailing through the same waters where you were taken doesn’t help your mood either. You are conflicted in a sense, these people sent you out here to die, but without that happening you would have never met Yunho or Mingi.Â
“Y/N?” The crowd murmurs in shock. Ripples of your name carried by the wind reach your ears and you can hardly believe that you’re back here.
Once you meet the dock, the old woman who helped perform the ritual waddles down to meet you. Her eyes are wide, as if seeing a ghost as she studies you. “Y/N? Is that really you?”
“I’m back.”
“Come here child, let me see you.” She waves her hands, ushering you to come to her and you sigh. Getting up out of your boat, you are careful to not fall into the icy waters and step up onto the wooden dock. Her long grey hair floats in the breeze, and as soon as she grabs your hand it’s real to you. You’re finally back here. “Oh my, how are you alive?”
A crowd has gathered around you, and they whisper amongst each other but their eyes are completely glued to you. “I escaped.” You don’t even try to sound elated to see them.
“And the dragon?” Her eyes are filled with fear and you somehow are annoyed at that.
“Still there.”
She opens her mouth in shock and pulls you closer to her, “My poor child, you must’ve been through horrors.” She slides next to you and puts an arm around your back while leading you to the main hall, “Come, let's warm you up.”
You are given mountains of food, clothing, and blankets while you sit by the main fire. People scramble to come and talk to you, asking you questions you don’t want to answer at all. It really bothers you that they assume that your time on the island has only been suffering. Then again, why wouldn’t they? Every woman that the dragons have taken has been killed in the most gruesome way. Still, it makes you extremely uncomfortable that they assume Mingi and Yunho are monsters.
When the sun finally sets, the old woman ushers everyone away, telling them that you are tired from your arduous journey. As soon as everyone leaves, it feels like you can breathe again. However, the old woman doesn’t go. She takes a seat right beside you and takes your hand in hers, “I can see something troubles you, tell me.”
“I don’t know what you mean.”
“Y/N, I can see it in your eyes, something is troubling you.” She sighs, “Let this old woman give you some wisdom, hm?”
“You already know about my journey here, what else is there to tell?”
She eyes you, “A woman’s heart is full of secrets my dear. There’s something more to your pain. Don’t lie to an old woman, tell me.”Â
Your brows crease, “I don’t-”
“Y/N, I have known you since you were born, I know when something is wrong.”
Hearing that feels like your heart is twisted and torn. You pull your hand away from hers like you’ve been burned and spit out, “You’ve known me since I was born, but you gladly offered me up as an offering. How could you?”
Her face twists into guilt and sympathy, “Y/N we had to. I hated that you were selected, but you know why we have to do it. Everyone loves you here, and it ate everyone up knowing what would happen to you.”
“How do you expect me to feel?! You all were willing to let me die!” You stand up, and all of the blankets that were piled on your lap fall to the floor. “You expect me to act like nothing happened?! How can you claim that everyone loves me when I was the first option to throw away?!”
She opens her mouth to respond but closes it. She must know that you are right. There is nothing that she or anyone in this village could say to help you feel better. You don’t think you could ever forgive them for what they’ve done, and they must know that. Why else did they give you so many resources as soon as you returned? Not even before were they this generous and you know it’s because they feel guilty. Never before had they faced the women who they offered up to slaughter, but now they have to face it. It must feel uncomfortable for them.
“I know.” She fiddles with her worn fingers, “There’s nothing I can say to earn your forgiveness, and I don’t think you should forgive us regardless. All I want to say is, I am so sorry Y/N. I am so sorry that happened and I’m so sorry that you were chosen.”
You shake your head and hold back the tears stinging your eyes, “I can’t stay here. I can’t see all of your faces everyday knowing that you all did that to me.’’
“And where would you go?”
Your lip trembles, “I have nowhere to go. I have no home.”
Her eyes narrow and she tentatively steps closer, “I don’t entirely believe that’s true.” She reaches out and grabs your hand once more and gives it a gentle squeeze, “I know something more must have happened when you were gone. In all my years I have learned to be observant, and I know you. You don’t have to tell me, but know that I will be here to listen.”
She pats your hand and gives you a soft smile before letting you go and leaving the main hall. Now that you’re alone, you let it all go. Hot tears stream down your face as you gasp for breath. It feels like you are all alone in the world, with no one to turn to. You have no home. It’s as if you are a lone star in the sky, that flickers as it fights to stay alive. You fall to your knees and allow all of the feelings to overwhelm you, swallowing you whole.
You don’t know how long you spent on the floor of the main hall crying. After a while, it felt like you were empty, with no more tears left to cry. At first, it felt like you were an erupting volcano of emotions, and now it’s as if you are only smoldering ash. The first step outside is a shock to the system after living on the warm island. Freezing air blasts your face and you shiver uncomfortably, and wrap the fur blanket around you more securely.Â
The walk back to your old cabin is odd. It feels familiar to you, but at the same time foreign. You’ve walked this path hundreds of times, but now it feels like you don’t belong. When you reach the old cabin that has stood for many generations of your family, it’s as if a stone is in your heart. This is the place your Mother died. This is the place you grew up. Even so, it’s not home anymore- it’s just four walls and a roof.
You’re surprised to see that no one has moved in when you enter. Typically, all possessions and items of deceased members of the village are dispersed, all in the name of not wasting anything. Still, it must be another case of guilt on their part. You return to your bed, and plop down. Everything is just as you left it, only now there is a fine layer of dust on everything. Instead of stewing in your thoughts, you pull up the covers and try to go to sleep.
........
The morning is not better even though you hoped it would be. The old woman is the first to come to your door with a warm breakfast, but you're not hungry at all. You take it to be polite and she leaves after telling you to take your time. Being back in your old house is stifling and you hate it.Â
Your peace is quickly interrupted by a knock at your door. You sigh and answer it, expecting it to be the old woman again but it’s a man. He’s one of the men your age who you’ve seen around, but never really interacted with. He has a wide smile on his face, a bouquet of snowdrops that he holds out to you, “You look beautiful today Y/N.” You don’t move to grab the gift and he swallows thickly, “I wanted to give these to you as a sign of my affection.”
You just stare at him, unbelieving as to what he just said. He can’t be serious. Without a second thought, you start to laugh and his smile drops. “Are you serious?”Â
“I-” He stumbles out, “I’ve always liked you, and when you were taken I was devastated. Now that you’re back, I didn’t want to waste any more time…”
In a way, you feel offended. Why on earth would he think now would be a good idea to spring this on you? “I appreciate the gift, but I can’t accept it.” Your eyes harden on his devastated face, “Your timing offends me, not only that but your audacity to spring this on me now, of all times.”
He starts to gnaw on his bottom lip, “I’m sorry… I’ll leave you be.” He hesitates and lifts the bouquet as a last ditch effort, but by the look on your face he lowers it and sulks away. You watch him go with the most confused look on your face. It hasn’t been a full day and people are acting as if everything is fine and normal. There’s nothing normal about this at all.
Him showing up to your door basically asking to be together has ruined your already sour mood. You feel almost disgusted by it. Just the thought of being with him makes your skin crawl. It’s not only the fact that he did this out of nowhere, but the circumstances of it all. Everyone in this village participated in the ritual. They all decided that you were the one to die. Now he turns up at your door expecting you to not hold that against him? You scoff to yourself and go back inside of your home, slamming the door behind you.
Your mind immediately goes to Yunho and Mingi, and you don’t particularly know why. You never recoiled at the thought of them romantically, or felt disgusted by their obvious flirtations. In reality, you welcomed it. A pang of longing hits your heart and you swallow thickly. You can’t think about them, it will only make things harder.Â
You spend the majority of the morning packing items for you to take with you on your journey. You’ve decided to go South towards the villages there and see if they will take you in. In your mind, you’d rather try your luck in the vast wilderness in search of civilization rather than stay another day in this village. You pack clothing and thick furs in a small trunk, and put keepsakes from your childhood and memories of your Mother on top. Later, you’ll make your way to the storehouse and steal as much food as you can take. Still, you need to figure out how to take one of the horses without garnering any attention, but you’ll worry about that later.
As soon as you leave the cabin, you spot a group of people watching you. They stay far enough away to not seem like they’re staking out your house, but it’s obvious due to them whispering to each other and staring. You sigh and shake your head before heading in the direction of the storehouse. Even your walk there isn’t peaceful, people stop in their tracks to gawk at you and you try to ignore it. After going years without being a noticeable person, it’s odd that everyone is suddenly acting like you’re the most important person in this village.Â
The storehouse is busy and you curse under your breath. Three women bustle about, organizing new provisions and chatting with each other. You slip inside, pretending that this is a regular day but they immediately notice your presence. They stop what they’re doing and stare and you’re beginning to hate it. You hate the feeling of their eyes on you, and you hate that every movement or emotion you show is observed.Â
“Good morning Y/N.” One woman cheerily says.
You mumble a good morning back and make your way to the smoked meats while keeping your head down. You’re beginning to realize that sneaking and stealing provisions is going to be near impossible with everyone staring at you. However, you do try. You stick smoked elk in your bag you brought with you and a few pieces of smoked seal meat as well. The women start to go back to their tasks, but they continuously glance at you much to your annoyance.
After you successfully take enough meat to last you a while, you leave the storehouse and return to your cabin. You don’t even bother looking at or acknowledging the gawking people anymore. However, when you reach the steps of your old home you see the old woman is back. She sits on a chair, clearly waiting for you as she twiddles her thumbs. As soon as she sees you, she smiles and waves you forward, “Come, I want to talk to you.”
You frown, “What for?”
She ignores your snippy tone and stands up on shaky knees, “Because I want to, now come on, open the door.” She waits for you and you sigh before climbing the stairs and entering your home.
You set your bag on the table and plop down in a chair while she takes a seat on the opposite side. She hums pleasantly as she looks around, “I haven’t been in here for a long time. So many memories.”
Your patience is growing thin, “What is it you want to talk about?”
She nods, “Y/N, I wish to know what is bothering you. You are changed my dear, in all aspects.”
You don’t know if you can have this conversation again with her, “What do you want me to say? What is it that you want to hear?”
“The truth.”
“And why do you think you deserve that, huh? Why are you badgering me so much about this?” You stand up and move to the smoldering hearth, “I don’t understand why you care.”
“I care for you Y/N, and you might not believe that but I do. I want to hear what it is that is bothering you so much, and I know that it’s not just about the ritual.” Her voice is unwavering, but you don’t believe her. If you care for someone, you don’t offer them up to die. “Please just tell me.”
You close your eyes and take a deep breath. You feel like giving up completely. “What is love if you can never have it?” She doesn’t answer you and you continue, “It’s like fate is taunting me. To love someone so much but never being able to truly be with them. It’s a sick twist of fate to have them be thrust into my life when realistically it could never work.”
She doesn’t answer you immediately, but stands and joins you by the hearth. She reaches for your hand and you accept it. “Why can’t it work? If you truly are in love, take it. Love is the most powerful thing in this world.”
You let out a sad little laugh, “It won’t work. It could never work.”
Her brows furrow, “All you can do is try Y/N.”
Hot tears fight to fall from your eyes but you keep them at bay, “I don’t know how I can do that.”
“You love them, yes?” She gets closer, “Then why not fight for it? If they love you too, I’m sure that everything will work out.”
Realistically, there’s nothing you can do about it. How can you fight for it while the threat of death looms over you? Then it hits you, what’s the point of living if you aren’t truly living? When you were on the island, that was the first time you’ve ever felt free. Yes, you were constantly afraid of the dragons and being burnt alive, but Mingi and Yunho made it perfectly clear that your safety was their first priority. They even denied half of themselves to keep you safe and you can’t ignore that.Â
“What if I’m afraid?” Your voice is just above a whisper.
She gives you a soft smile, “It’s normal to feel afraid my dear. You just have to be brave enough to take that first step.” The gentle squeeze of your hand is encouraging, “That’s all you have to do.”
You exhale a shaky breath and nod. You do love them, and you don’t think you’ll ever be happy living away from them. You’ll deal with never being able to touch them, just as long as you get to see their handsome faces and hear their voices. “I’ll try.”
You walk right back out of your cabin with the bag you brought with you leaving the old woman behind. She looks at you with an unreadable expression on her face and follows you out, closing the door behind her. You don’t even stop to utter any goodbyes while you make your way to the dock. When you reach the water’s edge, you stare at your raft and sigh, “There’s no way.” You don’t even know how to get back to the island if you even tried. Despair fills your heart until you realize there is another way you could get there.
The ritual song.
You know that it’s stupid and dangerous, but you have to try. You need to get back to them. If it costs you your life, then so be it. Hopping into the raft, you push off the deck and slowly sail out to the middle of the lake. The old woman is shouting questions and worries at you, but you pay her no mind. Lifting your head to the sky, you begin to sing.
“Before there was no time, no earth, no dust, nothing. All was forgotten.
What was falsity became verity. The river froze into nothingness.
Time is a fast-flowing river.
It spares no one.”
Crowds of people gather on the shores reminding you of the first time you experienced this ritual. Instead of the morose and resolute looks of before, they are now terrified and confused. Shouts are directed at you to stop, but you pay them no mind.
“The bride awaits her bridegroom,Â
As she awaits her destiny.
She is clad in white,
As if dressed in a shroud.
Eternal peace will come for her.
Take her away! Take her away!
Come! Come for her!
The young maiden is yours for eternity.”
Just like before, it’s as if the world goes silent. Everyone stares at you in horror from what you’ve just done, but you don’t care. You smile at the sky while the wind picks up. It blasts against the raft and you watch the horizon till you spot a familiar black figure. Yunho swoops down with his claws wide open and snatches you up, but instead of fearing for your life while you fought to get away, you welcome it. You hold onto his claw as he carries you upward. It still hurts, but you ignore it as best as you can.
The flight is quiet. He doesn’t roar and you don’t hear any answering roar, and that concerns you. You spend the majority of the flight gazing up at him. The sunlight hits his pitch black scales, creating a beautiful sight. You’ve never admired him in his dragon form, but being this close to him gives you a new perspective. He’s beautiful.
The temperature changes and you tilt your head back to see what’s in front of you, and you finally see the familiar bone island. You smile and reach up, running a hand down his claw as you wait for him to enter the cavern.Â
You don’t even feel fear as he tosses you onto the altar. It hurts, the jolt of hard rock hitting your body but you ignore that and keep your eyes on Yunho. He approaches you, his eyes that vibrant red that you’ve feared for so long. He climbs over you and you watch as his chest begins to glow from within, a scorching heat beginning to grow. Before you feel it sting your skin, you reach up and caress his face lovingly, “I came back for you.”
The dragon looks down at you confused but shakes his head and starts again. You reach up again and lift yourself as much as you can while trapped beneath his claws to kiss the side of his face. The scales feel different on your lips but it doesn’t bother you. “I love you Yunho.”
The dragon lifts off of you without a warning and shakes its head. The redness in his eyes vanishes in an instant, going to his normal brown but you blink and it’s back. It’s as if his dragon nature is warring with his human self. You sit up on the altar and scoot off, approaching him slowly, “I have loved you, and when I left it felt like agony. Every second I spent not by your side…” You take another step forward and he roars, flames engulfing the back of his throat. “I don’t ever want to leave you again. So if you wish to finish this ritual, I won’t stop you, but know that I will be by your side regardless.”
He just stares at you with those red eyes, but before you know it, they disappear to that deep brown. He chuffs and dips low, his snout brushing against your arm. You reach out and lay your hand flat on the top of his snout while his hot breath hits your face. Seeing him this close takes your breath away. It’s not like being in his claws or trapped underneath him on the altar, now it feels personal, more intimate. It feels like you’re meeting him for the first time in a sense.
His large eyes stare into yours and you can feel the intense emotions radiating off of him. He moves forward and nuzzles your neck with the tip of his nose and you laugh at the ticklish feeling. You notice him moving away as the red light starts to radiate across his body as if he’s about to shift, but you lean forward and place your hand on his neck, “Not yet please. I want to get to know you in this form.”
He makes a rumbling response and lays down and waits for you to join him. You take a seat and cross your legs underneath you, and he immediately places his head in your lap. It’s heavy, but you don’t mind. You place your hand on top of his head, feeling his warm scales. Never in your wildest dreams did you think that your life would end up like this.
You stay like that for a long time. Soaking up each other’s presence till the skies start to turn into shades of pinks and blues. He sits up and shits before your eyes. The bright light fades, and you see that he’s kneeling right in front of you. He has an astonished and wonderstruck look on his face, but there’s something deeper there. His eyes are soft, softer than you remember them ever being. It’s as if his gaze is holding all the warmth and adoration a person can have, and then you realize, it’s the look of love.
He reaches forward tentatively, but you don’t flinch away, instead you lean toward him welcoming his touch. The first brush of his skin against yours feels like fire. You let out a pleasant and relieved sigh as he cups your cheek. It seems he can’t believe what’s happening right now as he rubs your cheek with his thumb, his eyes completely focused on you.
“I love you Y/N.” He whispers, “And I’m so sorry for what happened. I should have never spoken like I did. I was just so afraid.” He inches closer, his head cocking to the side, “I was afraid that you were leaving forever. Afraid that you would fear me regardless of how much time has passed. I was afraid that I wasted my time with you instead of telling you the truth, that I love you. I don’t want to waste any more time with you, I want to cherish each moment with you to the fullest. I want to live my life with you.”
You melt at that and lean in just so your noses touch, “Will you have me?”
He smiles, “You don’t even have to ask my love.”
You close the distance and press your lips to his in a gentle kiss. He makes a noise of surprise at that as you slowly kiss him, feeling his soft lips against yours. He seems awkward at first, and you realize that he probably doesn’t know what a kiss is. “Is this okay?” You whisper.
After no answer, you lean back and see that he looks dazed. His face is red and it reaches the tips of his ears. You smile and place your hand over his, “Am I overwhelming you? Should I stop?”
That knocks him out of his stupor and he shakes his head no profusely, “Absolutely not.” He reaches back and rubs his neck awkwardly, “I really like… whatever that was.”
You laugh, “It’s a kiss.”Â
He touches his lips with the pads of his fingers and watches you. Before you know it though, his mouth is on yours again and you sigh into the kiss. It’s sloppy and not well practiced, but you love it all the same. You press forward and wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him flush against your chest. You notice that he feels incredibly hot, and you suspect that it’s because he’s not entirely human. His hands snake around your waist and you can still feel how nervous he is.Â
You lead the kiss, starting out small and easy with gentle presses, working up to fluid motions. He learns quickly and switches sides, pulling you even closer. Somehow, he pulls you into his lap and you feel like you’re soaring.Â
The first touch of your tongue against his lips seems to send shockwaves throughout his body. He groans against your mouth and grips you harder and you want to consume him. You break the kiss and place a hand on his chest, “Take me to my bed.”
He looks confused and a little defeated but nods, “As you wish.”
You stand up and hold a hand out for him to take, and he does after adjusting his loincloth not so subtly. “I want to be more comfortable as we…” You smile knowingly.
“I see.” He returns your smile.
Walking with him hand in hand is different than what you’re used to, but you wouldn’t want it any other way. Yes, you deeply enjoyed watching his toned back as he walked in front of you, but now that his hand is in yours? You won’t ever go back if you can’t help it.
Yunho casts longing glances at you while you walk and you smile every time. You’re unsure if he knows exactly what you’re planning to do, or what it is, but you’ll teach him every step of the way. As he said, they don’t procreate like humans do.Â
When you reach your cave, you are simmering with excitement and neediness. You turn and pull him close, kissing him like a mad man. Now that he’s had some practice, he doesn’t hesitate to walk you back till your back hits a cave wall. The taste of him is utterly intoxicating and you never want to stop.Â
He leans back to breathe, but you can’t stand a second without tasting him so you kiss his neck. He lets out a deep groan and grips your hips harder, “What are you doing?”
“Is this okay?”
“Oh it’s more than okay.” His voice is deeper than usual, but that doesn’t scare you at all.
“If I do something that you don’t like, tell me to stop.” You lick a stripe up his neck and he shivers.
“I won’t stop you even if the world was on fire.” He lifts you up and you wrap your legs around his hips. The heat radiating off of him is nothing like you’ve ever experienced. He presses you into the cave wall, the waving rock jutting into your back awkwardly, but you don’t care. With each passing second he becomes more wild and you wonder if that’s him, or the dragon.
“Lay me on the bed.” You gasp out.
He doesn’t respond to you but immediately does as he’s asked. He lays you down with such gentleness that it melts your heart and you smile up at him. His eyes continue to flick from your eyes to your mouth and you know that he wants to kiss you again, “What do I do?”
You hum, “Well what do you know about sex?” He gives you a curious look and you smile and cup his cheek, “Do you touch yourself?”
Recognition dawns in his eyes and he smirks, “Ah, I see.” His eyes flick down again, “Can I touch you?”
“Yes, please.” You don’t care that you said it so quickly and so needily, you want him. He leans back, just enough so he can observe you and smiles. You watch his eyes drink you in, and even though you aren’t naked, you feel utterly exposed. He reaches forward and traces his fingers from your wrist and all the way up your arm, leaving goosebumps in its wake. His fingers dance across your collar bone and up your neck till he lightly touches your lips with his thumb.Â
“You don’t know how much I’ve ached to be able to touch you. To breathe in your sweet scent. I’ve dreamed of this for so long, and now I can hardly believe that this is real.” He pulls your bottom lip down slightly with his thumb and places his hand on your hip. “A part of me thinks that I’ll wake up and you won’t be here, and that this didn’t happen.”
That breaks your heart, “I’m right here, I’m not going anywhere.”
“I love you Y/N. More than you can possibly imagine.” His other hand holds your ankle, only inching upwards every few seconds. “I must confess I have no idea what I’m doing, but I will do my best to be the best man for you, even though I don’t deserve it.”
“Stop saying that Yunho, you are perfect.” Your temper flares hearing him say that and he just smiles at that.
“Okay.” His hand reaches just above your knee. “How do I make you feel good my love?”
You reach for his hand and pull it closer to the most intimate part of yourself. You can scarcely breathe watching his face, his eyes completely focused on your joined hands. The first brush on his hand on your core feels like watching those flowers explode in the sky. Your blood feels like fire and you let out a breathy sigh. His curious face turns to something more animalistic and hungry feeling and hearing you.
“You’re so wet.” The tip of his finger dips into you. “You’re so perfect my love.”
You pant when he presses his finger farther in, “Touch me here too.” You reach down and touch your clit and he smiles.
“Can I taste you?” His voice is the sexiest thing you’ve ever heard. Your answer is a needy moan and he chuckles, bending down so he can seat himself between your legs. He groans deeply and then dives in, leaving you no time to breathe. He’s sloppy, but pays attention to your noises and body language, seeing what you like. His tongue dips into you rhythmically and you writhe against him, your hands gripping the blanket beneath you. You need more though, so you reach down to touch your clit and he growls, pushing your hand away, “Let me pleasure you.”
“Please.” You plead out and he adjusts, placing his mouth over your clit. You choke out a sound as he begins to suck and the sound of that pleases him. His hands squeeze your thighs while he groans with each suck and lick. It’s as if he’s insatiable and has to drink up everything you’ll give him.
A burning sensation fills your stomach and radiates throughout your body. You flutter around nothing and rock against his face, chasing that intense feeling. He sucks hard and you cry out, that feeling reaching a fever pitch and it feels like you are flying. Even though you’ve reached your climax, he doesn’t stop licking you. He makes hungry noises and grips your thighs even harder and you whimper. It becomes overstimulating very quickly and you wiggle away, “Too much. Too much.”
He grumbles but finally looks up at you, his eyes a deep red that reminds you of the dragon. It’s not bright like how you’re used to, but a subdued color that reminds you of the petals of a rose. His chest rises and falls heavily, “You taste divine. I never want to stop tasting you.”
A smile pulls at your lips as you reach for him, “Come here.”
He climbs on top of you and you wrap your legs around him, pulling him close, “I don’t see how anything else can top that.”Â
Lifting up your head, you whisper in his ear, “Put your cock inside.”
He leans back to look into your eyes, “Are you certain? Won’t that hurt you?”Â
Somehow, your love continues to grow for him even though he has consumed your very being. “No, it won’t hurt me. Just go slow, it’s my first time.”
“Okay.” He kisses your forehead and shifts his weight to one forearm to line himself up. As soon as he pushes forward, all air leaves your lungs. He watches your eyes with concern written all over his face but you nod, telling him that you are okay. When he’s fully seated inside of you, you grip his shoulders and close your eyes as you get used to the feeling. He doesn’t move a muscle and you know that he’s afraid to hurt you at all.Â
It takes a few minutes to get used to feeling so full, but it turns into something achy that makes you writhe in need. “Now move.” It comes out as breathy as you gaze into his fiery eyes.
He nods and pulls out just enough before pushing back into you. He makes a soft noise, different to the noises he made while licking your cunt and you flutter around him. “Don’t do that. I won’t last if you do.” It comes out as strained.
“I can’t help it.” Your finger nails dig into his shoulders.
“You’re perfect. So perfect.” He dips lower, as if hugging you and moves faster. You moan right next to his ear and his hips stutter before ramming into you. “You are my universe. You are the flames that make up my being.”
“Don’t stop. Don’t stop.” You know that you are leaving claw marks on his back, but he doesn’t seem to mind at all.Â
“You feel so good.” He whimpers and that sound has you done for. Each thrust feels like ecstasy while your legs squeeze his hips harder. With his eyes locked on you, you feel that burning sensation building again. He must know that you are close, because he reaches between you two and circles your clit with his fingers. With just that touch, you explode.
He doesn’t last too long after you clench hard around him and you feel warmth pooling inside of you. He shakes above you, but keeps the majority of his weight off of you to not crush you. It feels like you are boneless as you lay beneath him, your breath ragged. Your body is slick with sweat, but you don’t care at all.Â
After some time, he rolls off of you and lays on his side, pulling you flush against him. You rest your head on his chest and listen to his rapid heart beat and smile. “I love you Yunho.”
“I love you.” He kisses your hairline, “What did I do to deserve you? I feel like the luckiest man alive.”
“You flatter me.”
His hand trails up and down your back, “I’m serious, you are the best thing to happen to me. Ever since you came into my life, it’s like my world got brighter. You are the most important person in my life.”Â
You hum pleasantly and move your hand up and down his toned stomach, “You know, I feel the same thing about you and Mingi.” Then you realize, you haven’t seen him at all since you returned to the island. You sit up, concern wafting off of you, “Where is he?”
A guilty expression is the only answer he gives you as he chews on his lower lip. “Yunho, I’m serious. Where is he?”
“He left.”
“What?” It feels like your heart is breaking all over again. “What do you mean he left?” Tears prick your eyes as you grasp the material of your gown, “I’m never going to see him again?”
He sits up and cups your cheeks, “We’ll find him. I promise. I will find him and bring him back.”
You shake your head no profusely, “No, I’m going with you.”

a/n: Finally, the long-awaited scene is here! I hope you all enjoyed it! Now, we have to find Mingi.
Also, it cracked me up picturing the old woman’s face as y/n started singing. Like, she obviously thought y/n was talking about someone in the village, NOT the dragon lmao. And they don’t even know that they can shape shift
So, there's about 3 or 4 more chapters left in A Fate That Binds Us. (Maybe more idk lmao, but the end is close). But right after finishing this fic, I'll post the new long fic that I've been working on.
Would you like a teaser or sneak peak of the next long fic?
