One of my teachers taught me, "Do not follow even the truth blindly because it creates a seal on your heart. We have to walk with our eyes open.
If you wish to go to extremes, let it be in sweetness, patience, humility and charity.
St. Philip Neri (via kvtes)
Whatever you may find here, life or death will soon steal it from you. Surrender your heart to the One who in different forms of being has and will always be with you.
Nur ad-Dīn Abd ar-Rahmān Jāmī (via chador-lover)
Allah tells us that when we die, all the areas which we prayed in will weep for us. Can you imagine the mountains longing for you, the shores hugging the sand on the beach, as it howls in despair for you? Can you imagine the cement in which you bowed your head in, crack as it trembles in its loss for you? The earth is alive, it has a soul of its own. And Allah tells that the one who submits in prayer has won the heart of the earth. And in the first night in our graves, instead of a terrifying squeeze that will shatter our every bone, those who indulged in good deeds and prayer will receive an affectionate embrace. As the earth’s way of saying ‘welcome back. I missed you.’ - Nashiha Pervin
Be envy-free. Envy no one and do not set yourself up to be subject to the envy of others. Appreciate your blessings but do not brag about them. Appreciate your beauty but do not show-off. And when you see a blessing upon someone which you have been waiting for yourself, resort to humble acceptance of Allah's Decision in what He has chosen to do, and do not grudge Him while you know He is All-Wise and the Bestower of blessings and trials."
We were given the greatest wealth for free. But it still constantly depletes. (Time)
I’d marry the continents to each other, join the oceans and the seas, gather the islands, and fold the day over the night, to bring you nearer.

Learn your religion. Do not inherit it.

Keep your eyes open for the subtleties, the wolves in sheep clothing, the blogs that don’t outright say so but support ISIS. Keep your eyes open there are too many blogs with such affiliations. Like I said, learn and understand your religion properly.
There is no point in arguing with someone who does not want to celebrate the mawlid, love cannot be taught, it is only gifted
Shaykh Ahmed Saad (via mujariyadah)
Death would not be called bad, if one truly knew how to die

“The best season to a believer is the winter, its nights are long for those who wish to pray, and its days are short for those who wish to fast.”
Hasan al-Basri (Rahimahullah)
Ya Rabb! make the Qur'an, The spring of my heart, And the light of my chest. The banisher of my sadness, And the reliever of my distress.
I pray that there is more love in my heart than water in the oceans.

This day of A'shuraa, if you want to honor Musa then lay the Pharaoh of your self at his feet. If you want to honor Banu Israel, then remember the favors of your Lord. If you want to honor Muhammad, then emigrate from sin to the prophetic city of emulation. If you want to honor al-Husayn, then drink the chalice of steadfastness and high aspiration. Thus will you have honored A'shuraa
Shaykh Naeem Abdul Wali
