Hi there, from your experience what was the general age range of teachers in Korea? I'm a 41 year old British guy and my job is under threat of redundancy here so I'm considering teaching in Korea as an option. I'm just concerned that everyone will be under 25! Thanks, Tony

Most of the teachers I meet here are under 30, but that being said I’ve definitely met people older than that. I find if you are older than that you should look into uni or international school jobs. They are a little more selective, but they tend to have older more experienced teachers who would fit your demographic more.

How long do I have with them? That sounds like I’m going to eat them or that I can only see them once a month during supervised visits. Unfortunately for me I’m rather famously unlucky in love. I’ve had a couple bfs in the 4 years I’ve been here, but plan to be single when I head back to the USA in March. Maybe I’ll have better luck on my home turf. ;)

Oh wow, you actually made that video on your experience with religion in Korea that I asked you about months ago. Just stumbled across is today. It's very interesting -thank you. Cringing at all of the proselytism in the YouTube comments. May I ask you if you've ever had any encounters with Mormons in Korea?

I’ve seen them, and they have said hi, but I just keep walking. I see them in their suits with their bibles and they just seem so young. Plus I have a biased opinion because when I see them I immediately think of The Book of Mormon.

Maybe. What uni was it? It has to be from an official accredited 4 year university.

I’ve never even heard of this. Nope, I never felt fetishized because of where I’m from in the USA. Also wtf is ‘dirtyfooted’ a term y’all actually use? That is horrifically offensive.

Expect to study the regular 4 hours in school, then another 4 in the afternoon just self study. Everyone I knew who was learning from a western speaking language had a much harder time than the ones studying from an asian language. However, if you keep at it you can do it!
