          For just the briefest moment, it's quiet, nothing but the sound of Alucard shuffling through drawers and the braying of sheep outside. It's nice. Desmond thinks he might enjoy more visits, if Alucard can stop being a prick long enough for them to have a nice conversation.

          But then of course Alucard comes out with a dildo in his hand, and the illusion is broken.

          He blinks at Alucard as he swings it around in the air, and sighs with the weight of the world. God has forsaken him, truly. He busies himself with sweeping the mess of broken glass into the dustpan, as an excuse to avoid Alucard's eyes.

          He can feel his face getting hot.

                    ❛❛    Bigger just means more prep work... and it's... reasonably sized anyway. Unless you're bigger than that, I don't think you get to judge.    ❜❜

hey! for my new mutuals, sorry for the quiet! I am a big t/a/d/c fan, and I have been in a funk leading up to the finale, and it has only gotten worse since actually seeing it! PETTY SO PETTY even if he can sense emotions...still, his old friend rejected ( even worse, flat-out ignored ) his beautiful form twice, calling upon Alucard's cruel wrath.

                     ❝ Mon ami... maybe I should leave you on your lonely Island of shards. ❞ A cross of arms && rise of brow followed by a breath like dragon's fire. An argument could be made for the importance of the broom, but he knew it was just an excuse.

He can make EXCUSES too. Excuses to torment Desmond. PETTY SO PETTY. Expensive shoes carry him out to look for the requested item. He will return it to leave Desmond to clean ( despite being able to get rid of this mess in seconds ) to rummage through Desmond's house without his permission.

                     ❝ Do you have any porn or alcohol? Sex toys? Don't LIE to me, I am like a bloodhound, I'll find it. ❞

          He stands there in shock as he watches Alucard make more mess, and it's so unsurprising he just lets out a sigh. Not a long one or exaggerated one, just a breath he'd been holding, leaving quickly enough to be heard.

          Part of him wants to yell, but that part of him waits long enough to see if Alucard actually gets the broom, and calms quickly when he actually does. Even if Alucard doesn't stay to help, it's a good sign he maybe has a conscience in there.

          And for his part, it was a little mean of him to call Alucard's joke shitty.

                    ❛❛    I'm sorry I made fun of your joke. It was funny, really, I just... struggle with flirtation these days. And your style is pretty, uh... bold.    ❜❜

          He sweeps at the oily mess on the floor, careful to pathetically pile it all up so he doesn't smear oil everywhere, because getting olive oil in his socks sounds worse than just stepping in glass. He hears Alucard snooping, and for a half second he stops sweeping to decide if that pissed him off, but in the end... eh, who cares? What was he gonna do, stop him?

                    ❛❛    I don't keep porn. I watch it and delete my internet history after, like a normal person. And I do have a... thing. Don't make me say the word though, I hate that word.    ❜❜

There's sinister laughter while he steps through the kitchen, his eyes and now his hands finding the desired object he had been searching for. Olive oil.

                     ❝ Your memory seems to fail you. I TOUCHED you many times. Stole many kisses ──ཀཀ whispered many sweet nothings in your ears. It's funny. I was a man after your HEART, but not your body, even if I desired it so. And you seem to have forgotten THAT. ❞ His expression softens to something sweet while expensive shoes step him closer, shaking the bottle in his hand.

                     ❝ You should let me DRESS those previous wounds of yours with something ──ཀཀ lavish... loving gentle. ❞ A small click of his lips. ❝ Maybe a little rough... WHY FORGET when you could use that anger of yours for something a lot more passionate ? See, I simply came here to toss your salad, not cause a war. ❞

          Desmond snorts a laugh, against his better judgement. It was so ridiculous a situation and such a ridiculous thing to say, it was hard not to. And despite how not-sexy it all was to be seduced by someone so tactless, it did let some of the tension out of the room.

          He looks at the bottle of olive oil in Alucard's hand, then up at Alucard, then back down at the floor.

                    ❛❛    I'm surrounded by broken glass and I'm not wearing shoes and you grabbed the fucking-- you couldn't even get me a broom before making your shitty joke?    ❜❜

          He folds his arms and stares Alucard down, because now that he's thought of it, he does expect Alucard to go get him one. But part of it is a desire to enforce a little space, give himself a little extra time out of Alucard's gaze.

          He is a little scared of those eyes.

          He fears he'll find something heartbreaking in them.

Perhaps it's Alucard's age----- or maybe it's because he views himself as a GOD----but he dosen't seem to comprehend the past is still with the other ; the vampire is able to forgive : forget : move on as quickly as a hurricane's wind.

ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ To hold on to pain is pointless.... regrets only weaken oneself.

Are strong beliefs held by the elder vampire, ones he's even voiced in the past. This only adds to his cruel nature when faced with one he REFUSES to f r e e from his ( currently metaphorical ) grasp----ALWAYS pulling them back down to that P A I N.

❝ No... I have EVERYTHING, but you, my oldest and dearest friend. I know I haven't always been the best----I never am...but when one falls into the illusion that the best times are for eternity, and then they awaken to find it all in RUIN...there's a change in perspective. ❞ Finally, the Nymph is ( be it temporarily ) freed from his gaze, now surveying the kitchen as if looking for something specific ; hands finally back at his own side.

❝ I found that I did have one REGERT... not fucking your brains out. ❞ Desmond is a Nymph ; personification of nature ; likely the half-child of some old god. His scent is sweeter than anything Alucard can describe. The lust for that BLOOD pounding through his veins ; the thirst for the power in that soft skin, the true motivation for such quick action. ❝ Are you worried it'll only be for one night? ❞ Alucard plays, but he has full intentions of getting his fill as many times as he can.

          He wished Alucard would shut up for a minute, because every time he manages to sway Desmond's heart, he just keeps fucking talking, never quits while he's ahead. And then he says something stupid like " fucking your brains out " and any desire Desmond had withers like a seed in dry soil. Dumbass.

                    ❛❛    Actually, at this moment, I'm worried my brain will melt before we get that far... It's a wonder you managed to procreate at all, with the world's worst sexy talk.    ❜❜

          He sighs like someone just dropped the weight of the world on his shoulders-- mostly because Alucard almost got him, and he's wrestling with the weight of temptation frustration.

                    ❛❛    Fine, you say I've got low self-esteem, that doesn't explain the timing, I... it's been years, Alucard. You tracked me down to- to what, to flirt? Fuck someone you wouldn't have touched with a ten foot pole ten years ago? Say I want to forget that we used to know each other, pretend we're strangers-- it's still weird to come to someone's house and proposition them out of nowhere, and I'm not exactly the type of person who sleeps with strangers...    ❜❜

          He rubs the back of his neck. His hair's getting too long; it curls around his fingers and distracts him from having to think about what Alucard is offering.

          He's considering it more than he thought he would.

ㅤ ㅤㅤ︶ ꒷꒦˚ ╯˚ ࣭⚝ ⭑ ꒷꒦︶ ๋ When familiar hands TRY to "swat him away" like the pest he is ; lips pursed to make the sound as if he were burned. BEING DRAMATIC ; acting HURT at the "eugh", Alucard frees the RARE nymph from his cursed touch---But he still doesn't give him back a proper amount of space.

❝ I've changed plenty. ❞ Is stated plainly--- and it did not match that coquettish tone in his voice--nor that devilish SMILE.

❝ For example. ❞ As if a demonstration, he cups Desmond's chin in those glacial ( but oddly tender ) hands of his. His red gaze was almost DARING his friend to act. After stealing his son's "pet", Alucard feels on top of the world, and it's no fun to celebrate alone, he would say. Thus, that carnal stare might have been all the confirmation Desmond needed of his intentions.

❝ I don't have a lover... ❞ Is chuckled----as if that had ever stopped him before.

❝ And I have always had a soft spot for FLOWERS. Especially ones as LOVELY as you. ❞ Alucard is still up to old tricks, trying to win favor with flattery. Trying to SUCK Desmond back into his ever-devouring V O I D . Moreover, as blood is essence----essence is life---his nymph "friend" smelt better than ever. All of that energy and power will be his for the taking----he could REALLY USE SOME after the magic he's been doing.

          Desmond pulls out of Alucard's grasp, but he's certain those vampire ears hear how wildly his heart is thrumming. His hand fumbles on the counter, knocking a glass over the edge and shattering it on the floor. He curses himself, because he's only wearing socks-- he can't even back away. He's trapped here, in a weird, sexy hell of his own creation.

          God, he never should have invited him in.

                    ❛❛    You've... lost your mind. Do you have any idea how long it took for me to get over you? Do you even give a shit? And honestly... I mean look at me.    ❜❜

          He's the same as he's ever been, but older, tired-er, and frankly, not dressed to go clubbing. He's in the same sweater he's worn for three days, because it's still cold in the evenings, and he wasn't expecting company, obviously. His hair may be clean, but it's unkempt as all hell-- because the only creatures that were supposed to see him today were sheep, and if Alucard happened to look where the glass had fallen, he'd see his socks don't even match, because he's behind on laundry.

          To put it bluntly, Desmond is a mess, and there's not a chance in hell Alucard is attracted to him now if he wasn't before.

Bewilderment is QUICKLY shot down by euphoria. Alucard, not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, acts fast. Barely with a blink, he's behind Desmond, holding him in an exaggerated ( slightly tight ) embrace, and places equally exaggerated kisses on the cheek of his old friend.

❛ Je n'y crois pas-- ! ! ❜ {I don't believe in it!} Is Proclaim to the heavens, cold hands rubbing up and down the other's side -- somewhat trying to tickle him. ❛ You shouldn't have flown away like one. Shit bird. ❜ Toxicity is spat in a tone of tenderness, his confusing way of showing affection.

          Desmond has never been good at turning Alucard away -- he has years of evidence to prove it. A constant back and forth, affection and revulsion in equal measure, that was their natural order. It was by far the most toxic relationship in his life, mostly because Alucard was a Grade A Asshole.

          But Desmond clings to old history regardless, because that's his curse. He always forgives the people who hurt him, no matter what they've done.

          How else did his cheating ex become his best friend?

          The hug makes his skin crawl, and it's only half Alucard's fault, for being so creepy and cold. The other half is due to Desmond's self-isolation -- he hasn't touched another human soul in ages (still hasn't, technically), and the feeling has become unfamiliar. He voices a lil "eugh" of discomfort, and removes Alucard's hands -- or tries to, anyway -- and grimaces.

                    ❛❛    You haven't changed much, huh? Still just as indecipherable as always. What the hell is 'just me and you' supposed to mean?    ❜❜

          It can't possible mean what it sounds like... right?

          ❛ I finally found you---- Little Shit Bird ~ ❜ Alucard spoke lovingly in a coo ; a devilish grin while his muscular frame is propped up on a windowsill to stare into Desmond's new house. Overfamiliar for a man who's TRACKED DOWN one of his old so-called "friends" against their very will ; Desmond was likely hiding from him for many reasons.

          ❛ Your other place had a bigger TV. ❜ The one Alucard bought after breaking his first. ❛ And it smells like sheep shit out here. Oddly... not the biggest turn off. ❜

          It seems he had gotten complacent and let his guard down. A stupid mistake, really-- when has Alucard ever let something go? He should have had holy water ready in a spray bottle, or bulbs of garlic ready to chuck like a vampire grenade. But, then again, he figured that shit never worked before.

          Desmond's at his kitchen sink, doing dishes, like a pantomime of a normal person, when Alucard appears like someone spoke of the devil. But Desmond was alone, and he wasn't in the habit of talking about old friends to the empty air.
